1 Katoeng kruek zaehoikung hanah. Neginoth ah sak han koi, David ih masakil. Aw Sithaw, lawk ka thuihaih hae tahngai ah; tahmen kang hnikhaih hoi angqoi taak hmah.
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David. Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.
2 Na tahngai pae ah loe pathim ah: poek anghmang sut moe,
Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
3 ka misa ih lok hoi kasae kaminawk ih pacaekthlaekhaih pongah, ka hang khing boeh; nihcae loe a sakpazae o haih to ka nuiah amtik o, kai palung ang phui o thuih moe, ang hnukma o.
Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.
4 Ka palung loe athung ah patangkhang; duek zithaih mah ang kraeng khoep boeh.
My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
5 Ka nuiah zithaih hoi tasoehhaih to phak moe, kai loe zithaih mah muek khoep boeh.
Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.
6 To naah, Aw pahuu baktiah pakhraeh ka tawnh soe nahaeloe, kangthla ah ka zawk moe, amding rue ah ka oh han boeh!
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! [for then] would I fly away, and be at rest.
7 Khenah, kangthla ah kam het moe, praezaek ah ka oh ving han. (Selah)
Lo, [then] would I wander far off, [and] remain in the wilderness. (Selah)
8 Takhi pui hoi takhi sae to loih hanah, karangah ka cawnh han, tiah ka thuih.
I would hasten my escape from the windy storm [and] tempest.
9 Aw Angraeng, nihcae amrosak hanah, lok to anghmangsak ah; vangpui thungah lokpunghaih hoi angzoehhaih to ka hnuk boeh.
Destroy, O Lord, [and] divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10 Nihcae loe aqum athun sipae taengah caeh o; athung ah loe kahoih ai hmuen sakhaih hoi qahhaih to oh.
Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow [are] in the midst of it.
11 Kasae sakhaih vangpui thungah oh o, lampuinawk ah kaom pacaekthlaekhaih hoi alinghaih loe boeng thai ai boeh.
Wickedness [is] in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.
12 Kai pahnui thuih kami loe kai ih misa na ai ni, kai ih misa ah om cadoeh ka pauep thai tih; angmah hoi angmah amkoeh moe, kai hnuma kami doeh kai ih misa na ai ni, kai ih misa ah om nahaeloe, anih to ka yae ving han:
For [it was] not an enemy [that] reproached me; then I could have borne [it: ] neither [was it] he that hated me [that] did magnify [himself] against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
13 to kami loe, kai hoi kanghmong, kam pui, ampui kangzong ah kaom, nang ni.
But [it was] thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.
14 Kaicae loe kahoih lok to ka thuih o moe, kaminawk hoi nawnto Sithaw im ah ka caeh o.
We took sweet counsel together, [and] walked unto the house of God in company.
15 Sethaih loe nihcae ohhaih ahmuen, nihcae salakah oh pongah, nihcae to duekhaih mah naeh nasoe loe, hell thungah kahingah caeh o nasoe. (Sheol h7585)
Let death seize upon them, [and] let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness [is] in their dwellings, [and] among them. (Sheol h7585)
16 Toe kai loe, Sithaw to ka kawk han; Angraeng mah na pahlong tih.
As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.
17 Duembang, akhawnbang hoi athun ah, lawkthuihaih hoiah ka hangh; to naah anih mah ka lok na thaih pae tih.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
18 Kai tuh kami loe pop o parai pognah, kai ang tuk o naah, anih mah monghaih hoiah ka hinghaih ang pahlong.
He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle [that was] against me: for there were many with me.
19 Canghnii hoiah kaom poe Sithaw mah thaih naah, nihcae to pacaekthlaek tih. (Selah) Nihcae loe amkhraihaih om ai pongah, Sithaw zii o ai.
God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. (Selah) Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
20 To baktih kami loe a thuih ih lok baktiah om ai, angmah hoi angdaeh ampui to misa ah suek.
He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
21 Pakha hoi tacawt a thuih ih loknawk loe samdai baktiah amnae, toe palung thungah loe misatuk han ih khue ni a poek; a lok loe moithawk pongah naem kue, toe nihcae loe sumsen hoi kami hum hanah oh o coek.
[The words] of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war [was] in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet [were] they drawn swords.
22 Nangmah ih hmuenzit to Angraeng khaeah amtii ah, anih mah na bomh tih; katoeng kami loe natuek naah doeh amtimsak mak ai.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 Toe Aw Sithaw, nang mah nihcae to tangqom thungah pakhrah tih; athii anghae kami hoi aling thaih kaminawk loe, a hing o haih ahap mataeng doeh hing o mak ai; toe kai loe, nang khaeah ni ka buep han.
But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
