1 Katoeng kruek zaehoikung hanah. David mah Bathsheba zae haih pacoengah, anih khae tahmaa Nathan angzoh nathuem ih. David ih Saam laa.
To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David, in the coming in unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me,
3 Tipongah tih nahaeloe ka sakpazae ih hmuennawk to ka panoek: ka zaehaih loe ka hmaa ah oh poe boeh.
For my transgressions I do know, And my sin [is] before me continually.
Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging.
5 Khenah, tapen tangsuek nathuem hoiah ka zae boeh; kam no mah zaehaih hoiah ang pomh boeh.
Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me.
Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know.
7 Hyssop hoiah na pasae ah, to tiah nahaeloe ka ciim tih: na pasae ah, to tih nahaeloe dantui pongah kang lung kue tih.
Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter.
8 Anghoehaih hoi oephaih lok to na thaisak ah; to tiah nahaeloe nang khaehsak ih ka huhnawk to anghoe o tih.
Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised.
9 Ka zaehaihnawk pongah na mikhmai to hawk ving ah loe, ka sakpazaehaihnawk boih to ciimsak ah.
Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out.
10 Aw Sithaw, ka thungah kaciim palung to suem ah, ka thungah muithla to angthasak ah.
A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me.
Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me.
12 Na pahlonghaih hoi kasaeng anghoehaih to na paek let ah loe, poekhoihaih hoiah na patawn ah.
Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And a willing spirit doth sustain me.
13 To tiah nahaeloe hmuen sah pazae kaminawk khaeah na loklam to ka patuek thai ueloe, zae kaminawk doeh nang khaeah amlaem o let tih.
I teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners unto Thee do return.
14 Aw Sithaw, kai akrangkung Sithaw, kami athii palong zaehaih thung hoiah na pahlong ah: to tiah nahaeloe ka palai mah na toenghaih laa to sah tih.
Deliver me from blood, O God, God of my salvation, My tongue singeth of Thy righteousness.
15 Aw Angraeng, ka pahni hae paong ah: to tiah nahaeloe ka pakha mah nang pakoehhaih lok to thui tih.
O Lord, my lips thou dost open, And my mouth declareth Thy praise.
16 Nang loe angbawnhaih to na koeh ai; nang koeh nahaeloe angbawnhaih to kang paek han boeh: nang loe hmai angbawnhaih ah nang hoe ai.
For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give [it], Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not.
17 Sithaw mah koeh ih angbawnhaihnawk loe, kamro phaeng palung hae ni: Aw Sithaw, kakoi phaeng palung hoi dawnpakhuemhaih palung tawn kaminawk to na patoek mak ai.
The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise.
18 Zion mae loe na koehhaih baktiah omsak ah; Jerusalem sipaenawk to pathawk let ah.
Do good in Thy good pleasure with Zion, Thou dost build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 To naah toenghaih hoi paek ih angbawnhaih, hmai angbawnhaih, takpum boih hmai angbawnhaih to nang hoe haih tih; to pacoengah loe nihcae mah na hmaicam ah maitaw taenawk to paek o tih boeh.
Then Thou desirest sacrifices of righteousness, Burnt-offering, and whole burnt-offering, Then they offer bullocks on thine altar!
