< Saam 35 >

1 David ih Saam laa. Aw Angraeng, ka lokaek kaminawk to nang mah aek ah loe; kai tuh kaminawk to nang mah tuh ah.
Of David himself. O Lord, judge those who harm me; assail those who attack me.
2 Angvaenghaih hoi pakaahaih to la ah loe, kai abomh hanah angthawk ah.
Take hold of weapons and a shield, and rise up in assistance to me.
3 Tayae to aphong ah loe, kai pacaekthlaek han patom kaminawk to pakaa khoep ah: ka hinghaih pakhra khaeah, Kai loe nang pahlongkung ni, tiah thui paeh.
Bring forth the spear, and close in on those who persecute me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”
4 Ka hinghaih boeng hanah pakrong kaminawk to palungboeng o nasoe loe, azatpaw o nasoe: kai amro han khokhan kaminawk to azatpawhaih hoiah hnukbangah amlaem o let nasoe.
Let them be confounded and in awe, who pursue my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded, who think up evil against me.
5 Nihcae loe takhi mah hmuh ih tavai baktiah om o nasoe loe, Angraeng ih van kami mah nihcae to haek nasoe.
May they become like dust before the face of the wind, and let the Angel of the Lord hem them in.
6 Nihcae caehhaih loklam to khoving nasoe loe, loklam amnaesak nasoe: Angraeng ih van kami mah nihcae to pacaekthlaek nasoe.
May their way become dark and slippery, and may the Angel of the Lord pursue them.
7 Nihcae loe takung om ai ah tamquta hoi kai hanah palok zang o, takung om ai ah ka hinghaih paro hanah tangqom to takaeh o.
For, without cause, they have concealed their snare for me unto destruction. Over nothing, they have rebuked my soul.
8 To baktih kami nuiah poek ai pui hoiah raihaih to pha pae nasoe; angmah payang ih palok pongah angmah to aman nasoe: to amrohaih tangqom thungah angmah to krah nasoe.
Let the snare, of which he is ignorant, come upon him, and let the deception, which he has hidden, take hold of him: and may he fall into that very snare.
9 To naah ka hinghaih mah Angraeng ah anghoe ueloe, anih pahlonghaih pongah anghoe tih.
But my soul will exult in the Lord and delight over his salvation.
10 To naah ka huhnawk boih mah, thacak kami ban thung hoiah amtang kami pahlongkung, ue, paro thaih kami ban thung hoiah amtang kaminawk pahlongkung, Angraeng, mi maw nang baktih kaom? tiah thui o tih.
All my bones will say, “Lord, who is like you?” He rescues the needy from the hand of the stronger one, the indigent and the poor from those who plunder him.
11 Amsawn hnukung ah angdoe kaminawk loe angthawk o moe, ka panoek ai ih hmuennawk to ka nuiah amtik o.
Unfair witnesses have risen up, interrogating me about things of which I am ignorant.
12 Ka hinghaih paro hanah kahoih hmuen to kasae hoiah ang pathok o.
They repaid me evil for good, to the deprivation of my soul.
13 Toe kai loe nihcae ngannat o naah, buri kazii to kang zaeng moe, buhzah lawkthuihaih hoiah poek ka pahnaem pacoengah, palungthin tang hoiah lawk ka thuih.
But as for me, when they were harassing me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting, and my prayer will become my sinews.
14 Nihcae to kam pui hoi kaimah ih nawkamya baktiah ka poek: kami mah amno duek naah palungset baktih toengah, palungset hoiah ka ngam sut.
Like a neighbor, and like our brother, so did I please; like one mourning and contrite, so was I humbled.
15 Toe kai amtim naah loe nihcae anghoe o moe, nawnto amkhueng o; ue, kai patoem kaminawk loe nawnto amkhueng o, nihcae to ka panoek ai; nihcae loe anghak ai ah kai ang pasik o:
And they have been joyful against me, and they joined together. Scourges have been gathered over me, and I was ignorant of it.
16 kasae kaminawk mah poihkung ah minawk pahnuih o thuih baktih toengah, kai han haa ang kaek o thuih.
They have been scattered, yet they were unremorseful. They have tested me. They scoffed at me with scorn. They gnashed their teeth over me.
Lord, when will you look down upon me? Restore my soul from before their malice, my only one from before the lions.
I will confess to you in a great Church. I will praise you among a weighty people.
19 Amsoem ai ah ka misanawk mah ka nuiah anghoe o thuih hmah nasoe; takung om ai ah kai hnuma kaminawk mah mik na pakhrip o thuih hmah nasoe.
May those who are my unjust adversaries not be glad over me: those who have hated me without cause, and who nod agreement with their eyes.
20 Nihcae loe angdaehhaih to lok thui o ai; nihcae loe prae thungah amding rue ah khosah kaminawk athlaeng thai hanah pacaeng o.
For indeed, they spoke peacefully to me; and speaking with passion to the earth, they intended deceit.
21 Ue, nihcae loe pakha angh o moe, Aha, aha, aimacae ih mik hoi roe a hnuk o boeh, tiah a thuih o.
And they opened their mouth wide over me. They said, “Well, well, our eyes have seen.”
You have seen, O Lord, do not be silent. Lord, do not depart from me.
23 Ka Sithaw hoi Angraeng, kai kawng pongah lokcaek hanah, anglawt loe, angthawk ah!
Rise up and be attentive to my judgment, to my cause, my God and my Lord.
Judge me according to your justice, O Lord, my God, and do not let them be glad over me.
25 Nihcae mah palung thung hoiah Aah, aicae koehhaih loe acung boeh, tiah thui o hmah nasoe: anih loe a paaeh o boeh, tiah thui o hmah nasoe.
Do not let them say in their hearts, “Well, well, to our soul.” Neither let them say, “We have devoured him.”
26 Karai ka tonghaih nuiah anghoe kaminawk loe azatpaw o nasoe loe, dawnraihaih hoiah om o nasoe: kai amoek thuih kaminawk loe azatpaw o nasoe loe, ahminsethaih hoiah om o nasoe.
Let them blush and be in awe together, those who congratulate at my misfortunes. Let them be clothed with confusion and awe, who speak great things against me.
27 Ka toenghaih pongah anghoe kaminawk loe, anghoehaih laa to sah o nasoe loe, nawm o nasoe: ue, Angmah ih tamna qoeng tahanghaih koeh Angraeng loe, lensawkhaih om nasoe, tiah thui o poe nasoe.
Let them exult and rejoice, who wish my justice, and let them ever say, “The Lord be magnified,” who will the peace of his servant.
And so my tongue will express your justice: your praise all day long.
