< Saam 17 >
1 David lawkthuihaih Aw Angraeng, toenghaih hoi ka hanghaih lok hae tahngai pae ah loe, lawk ka thuihaih naa patueng pae ah, alinghaih pahni hoiah lawk ka thui ai.
A Prayer of David. Hear, O Jehovah, righteousness, attend my cry, Give ear [to] my prayer, without lips of deceit.
2 Ka nuiah lok takroekhaih loe nang khae hoiah angzo nasoe loe, na mik hoiah toenghaih to hnu nasoe.
From before thee my judgment doth go out; Thine eyes do see uprightly.
3 Ka palungthin to nang khingh pae moe, aqum ah nang khetzawn; kai hae nang tanoek, toe tidoeh na hnu ai; ka pakha ah zaehaih om mak ai, tiah ka poek.
Thou hast proved my heart, Thou hast inspected by night, Thou hast tried me, Thou findest nothing; My thoughts pass not over my mouth.
4 Kaminawk mah sak ih hmuennawk baktih toengah, amrosak thaih kaminawk caehhaih loklam ah athum han ai ah, na pakha thung hoi tacawt tamthanglok hoiah ka yae ving boeh.
As to doings of man, Through a word of Thy lips I have observed The paths of a destroyer;
5 Kam thaek han ai ah, na loklam ah ka caehhaih khok tangkan na caksak ah.
To uphold my goings in Thy paths, My steps have not slidden.
6 Aw Sithaw, kang kawkhaih lok nang pathim han oh pongah, nang to kang kawk: na naa to patuengh loe, lawk ka thuihaih lok hae na tahngai paeh.
I — I called Thee, for Thou dost answer me, O God, incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech.
7 Nang khae abuephaih pakrong kaminawk, misa ih ban thung hoiah na ban hoi pahlongkung, dawnrai nam lunghaih to amtuengsak ah.
Separate wonderfully Thy kindness, O Saviour of the confiding, By Thy right hand, from withstanders.
8 Kai pacaekthlaek kasae kaminawk hoi kai takui khoep kami hum han koeh misanawk thung hoiah mikmu baktiah na khenzawn ah loe, na pakhraeh tahlip ah na buepsak ah.
Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me.
From the face of the wicked who spoiled me. Mine enemies in soul go round against me.
10 Nihcae loe kathawk angmacae ih angan to ang oep o moe, amoekhaih lok to a thuih o.
Their fat they have closed up, Their mouths have spoken with pride:
11 Aicae caehhaih loklam to vaihi takui o khoep boeh: aicae long ah amtimsak hanah mik hoiah a khet o;
'Our steps now have compassed [him];' Their eyes they set to turn aside in the land.
12 kaek ih moi to caak han kaom zok amthlam kaipui, moi naeh hanah tamquta hoiah angangh kaipui caa kanawk baktiah a oh o.
His likeness as a lion desirous to tear, As a young lion dwelling in secret places.
13 Aw Angraeng, angthawk ah, anih to pakaa ah loe, amtimsak ah; na sumsen hoiah ka hinghaih kasae kami ih ban thung hoiah na loisak ah.
Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face, Cause him to bend. Deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy sword,
14 Aw Angraeng, long kami ah kaom, to baktih kaminawk ih ban thung hoiah ka hinghaih hae na ban hoi na pahlong ah; nihcae loe hae long nuiah hing o nathung, tangqum a hak o boeh, nihcae ih zok to na hawk ih hmuenmae hoiah na koisak boeh: a caanawk loe angraeng o; nihcae loe caa nawktanawk to sak o mangh, a tawnh o ih hmuenmaenawk doeh a caanawk hanah suek pae o.
From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion [is] in life, And [with] Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied [with] sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings.
15 Kai loe, toenghaih hoiah na krang to ka hnu tih: kang thawk tahang naah, na krang baktiah kaom nangmah roe to ka hnu tih, to naah loe ka poekhaih palung hae khuek ti tih boeh.
I — in righteousness, I see Thy face; I am satisfied, in awaking, [with] Thy form!
