1 David ih Saam laa. Aw Angraeng, lawk ka thuihaih lok hae tahngai ah; tahmen kang hnikhaih lok hae na tahngai pae ah; na oepthohhaih hoi toenghaih rang hoiah na pathim pae ah.
A psalm of David. Listen, O Lord, to my prayer; attend to my plea. In your faithfulness give me answer, and in your righteousness.
2 Na tamna hoi nawnto lokcaekhaih thungah caeh hmah; na hmaa ah kahing kami katoeng maeto doeh om ai.
With your servant O enter you not into judgment, for in your sight can no one alive be justified.
3 Ka misa mah ka hinghaih hae pacaekthlaek; ka hinghaih longah ang vah pae; saning kasawk ah kadueh kaminawk baktih toengah, vinghaih thungah ang ohsak.
For the enemy persecutes me, crushing my life to the ground, making me live in the darkness, as those who have long been dead.
4 To pongah palung ka boeng moe, poekhaih thazok sut boeh, ka palung loe tasoehaih hoiah koi.
My spirit is faint within me, my heart is bewildered within me.
5 Canghnii ih atuenawk to ka poek; na sak ih hmuennawk boih to ka poek; na ban hoi sak ih hmuennawk doeh ka poek.
I remember the days of old, and brood over all you have done, musing on all that your hands have wrought.
6 Nang khaeah ban ka payangh; long mah tui anghaeh baktih toengah, ka hinghaih mah nang to tui ah anghaeh. (Selah)
I spread out my hands to you: I thirst for you, like parched earth. (Selah)
7 Aw Angraeng, karangah na tahngai pae ah; ka muithla loe thazok sut boeh; kai khae hoiah na mikhmai to hawk ving hmah, to tih ai nahaeloe tangqom thungah caeh tathuk kaminawk baktiah ka om moeng tih.
Answer me soon, Lord, because my spirit is spent. Hide not your face from me, else become I like those who go down to the pit.
8 Akhawnbang ah nam lunghaih to na thaisak ah, nang ni kang oep; ka caeh han koi loklam to na panoeksak ah; nang khaeah ni ka hinghaih kang tathlang.
Let me learn of your love in the morning, for my trust is in you. Teach me the way I should go: for my heart longs for you.
9 Aw Angraeng, ka misanawk salak hoiah na krang ah; abuep hanah nang khaeah kang cawnh.
Save me, O Lord, from my foes: for to you I have fled for refuge.
10 Nang loe ka Sithaw ah na oh pongah, na koehhaih sak hanah na patuk ah; na Muithla loe hoih; toenghaih prae thungah na hoi ah.
Teach me to do your will, for you yourself are my God. Guide me by your good spirit, O Lord, on a way that is smooth.
11 Aw Angraeng, kai hae na hmin hoiah na pathawk ah; na toenghaih hoiah ka hinghaih hae raihaih thung hoiah na loisak ah.
Be true to your name Lord, spare me, bring me out of distress in your faithfulness.
12 Nang tahmen baktih toengah, ka misanawk to paduek ah; ka hinghaih pacaekthlaek kaminawk to amrosak ah; kai loe na tamna ah ni ka oh.
In your kindness extinguish my enemies, and all those who vex me destroy; for I am your servant.
