[Only] foolish people say to themselves, “There is no God!” People who say those things are corrupt/worthless; they do abominable/detestable deeds; there is not one [of them] who does what is good/right.

2 Thaikophaih tawn kami hoi Sithaw pakrong kami oh maw tiah hnuk hanah, Sithaw mah van hoiah kami capanawk to khet tathuk.

Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees humans; he looks to see if anyone is very wise, with the result that he desires [to know] God.

3 Kaminawk loe loklam amkhraeng o boih, nihcae loe panuet thok ah oh o boih boeh: kahoih hmuen sah kami maeto doeh om ai, om roe om ai, maeto doeh om ai.

But they are all corrupt/evil; no one does what is good/right.

4 Takaw a caak o baktih toengah, kai ih kaminawk to a caak o; zaehaih sah kaminawk boih loe panoekhaih tawn ai ah maw oh o?

Will those evil people never learn [what God will do to punish them] [RHQ]? They act violently toward Yahweh’s people while eating the food that he provides, and they never pray to Yahweh.

5 Katoeng kaminawk khaeah Sithaw oh pongah, nihcae loe paroeai zithaih hoiah koi o.

But [some day] they will become very terrified because God helps those who act righteously [and will punish those who reject him].

6 Angraeng loe amtang kaminawk abuephaih ah oh pongah, amtang kaminawk atimhaih to na paro pae o.

Those who do evil may prevent helpless people from doing what they plan to do, but Yahweh protects those helpless people [MET].

7 Aw Israelnawk pahlonghaih loe Zion hoiah angzoh! Angraeng mah angmah ih kaminawk misong thung hoiah hoih let naah, Jakob loe oephaih tawn ueloe, Israel loe anghoe tih.

I wish/desire that [Yahweh] would come from Jerusalem [MTY] and rescue [us] Israeli people! Yahweh, when you bless your people again, all of us Israeli people, who are the descendants of Jacob, will rejoice.
