< Saam 139 >
1 Katoeng kruek zaehoikung hanah. David ih Saam laa. Aw Angraeng, kai to nang pakrong moe, nang panoek.
To the Overseer. — A Psalm by David. Jehovah, Thou hast searched me, and knowest.
Thou — Thou hast known my sitting down, And my rising up, Thou hast attended to my thoughts from afar.
My path and my couch Thou hast fanned, And [with] all my ways hast been acquainted.
4 Ka palai mah lok maeto doeh thui ai vop to mah, toe khenah, Aw Angraeng, nangmah loe panoek boih boeh.
For there is not a word in my tongue, Lo, O Jehovah, Thou hast known it all!
Behind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.
6 To baktih palunghahaih loe kai hanah dawnrai parai han kaom hmuen ah ni oh; sang parai moe, ka phak vawt.
Knowledge too wonderful for me, It hath been set on high, I am not able for it.
Whither do I go from Thy Spirit? And whither from Thy face do I flee?
8 Van ah ka caeh tahang cadoeh, to ah nang na oh; taprong thungah kang song cadoeh, khenah, to ah nang na oh. (Sheol )
If I ascend the heavens — there Thou [art], And spread out a couch in Sheol, lo, Thee! (Sheol )
9 Akhawnbang ih pakhraeh to ka tawnh moe, tuipui zaeh ahmuen kangthla ah ka zawk langlacadoeh;
I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,
Also there Thy hand doth lead me, And Thy right hand doth hold me.
And I say, 'Surely darkness bruiseth me, Then night [is] light to me.
12 Ue, vinghaih mah kai na khuk thai mak ai; khoving loe khodai baktiah aang tih; nang hanah loe vinghaih hoi aanghaih to anghmong.
Also darkness hideth not from Thee, And night as day shineth, as [is] darkness so [is] light.
For Thou — Thou hast possessed my reins, Thou dost cover me in my mother's belly.
14 Kai hae zitthok hoi dawnrai koi kaom ah nang sak pongah, nang to kang pakoeh han; na sak ih hmuennawk loe dawnrai han oh, tiah ka hinghaih mah kahoih ah panoek.
I confess Thee, because that [with] wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful [are] Thy works, And my soul is knowing [it] well.
15 Kai hae sak naah kathuk koek ahmuen ah tamquta hoiah nang sak; ka takpum hae nang khae hoiah anghawk thai ai.
My substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.
16 Kacung ai ah sak ih, ka takpum hae mik hoiah na hnuk boeh; nihcae ih krang to om ai vop moe, mi doeh om ai naah, ka sak ih hmuennawk to na cabu thungah na tarik boih boeh.
Mine unformed substance Thine eyes saw, And on Thy book all of them are written, The days they were formed — And not one among them.
17 Aw Sithaw, na poekhaihnawk loe kai hanah atho oh parai! Kroeklaek ai khoek to kawk!
And to me how precious have been Thy thoughts, O God, how great hath been their sum!
I recount them! than the sand they are more, I have waked, and I am still with Thee.
19 Aw Angraeng, kasae kaminawk loe na hum tangtang tih; to pongah nangcae athii anghae kaminawk, kai khae hoi kangthla ah om oh.
Dost Thou slay, O God, the wicked? Then, men of blood, turn aside from me!
20 Nihcae mah nang to kasae thuih o moe, na misanawk mah na hmin to atho kaom ai ah patoh o boeh.
Who exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity [are] Thine enemies.
21 Aw Angraeng, nang hnuma kaminawk to ka hnukma moe, nang misa angthawk thuih kaminawk to ka panuet na ai maw?
Do not I hate, Jehovah, those hating Thee? And with Thy withstanders grieve myself?
[With] perfect hatred I have hated them, Enemies they have become to me.
Search me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts,
24 Sethaih loklam to ka pazui maw pazui ai tito khen ah loe, dungzan loklam ah na caeh haih ah.
And see if a grievous way be in me, And lead me in a way age-during!
