< Saam 137 >
1 Babylon vapui taengah, kang hnut o, ue, Zion to ka poek o naah, ka qah o.
By the rivers of Babylon, there, we sat down, yea we wept—when we remembered Zion:
2 Katoengnawk doeh tui taeng ih thing tanghang nuiah ka bang o.
Upon the willows—in the midst thereof, hanged we our lyres:
3 To ah kaom kaicae misong ah naeh kaminawk mah laasak hanah ang pacae o; kaicae pacaekthlaek kaminawk mah anghoehaih laasak hanah ang pacae o; Zion laa maeto sah o noek khae, tiah ang naa o.
For, there, our captors asked of us words of song, and our plunderers—gladness, —Sing us of the songs of Zion!
4 Kawbangmaw Angraeng ih laa to minawk prae ah ka sah o thai tih?
How shall we sing the song of Yahweh, on a foreign soil?
5 Aw Jerusalem, nang to kang pahnet o ving nahaeloe, ka bantang ban mah a sakthaihaih to pahnet roep nasoe.
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right-hand forget:
6 Nang to kang panoek o ai boeh moe, kang hoe o haih koek Jerusalem to ka pakoeh o ai boeh nahaeloe, ka palai hae pakha ranuiah angbet caeng nasoe.
Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember thee! if I do not lift up Jerusalem above the head of mine own gladness.
7 Aw Angraeng, Jerusalem amtimh na niah, im hmuen to phrae oh, phrae oh, tiah kathui Edom kaminawk to poek ah.
Remember, O Yahweh, against the sons of Edom, the day of Jerusalem, —how they continued to say—Overthrow! Overthrow! unto the foundation within it.
8 Amrosak thaih, Aw Babylon canu, kaicae nuiah na sak ih hmuen baktih toengah, na nuiah sah pathok kami loe tahamhoih.
O ruined daughter of Babylon, —how happy the man who shall repay thee thy dealing, wherewith thou didst deal with us!
9 Na caa nawktanawk to lak moe, thlung nuiah va kami loe tahamhoih.
How happy the man who shall snatch away and dash thy children against the crag.
