Saam 101

1 David ih Saam laa. Aw Angraeng, na palungnathaih hoi na toenghaih nuiah laa ka sak moe, nang khaeah laa ka sak han.

A psalm for David himself. Mercy and judgment I will sing to thee, O Lord: I will sing,

2 Coek koi om ai ah acoehaih hoiah kho ka sak han. Natuek naah maw kai khaeah nang zoh han? Coek koi om ai palungthin hoiah ka ohhaih imthung ah ka caeh han.

And I will understand in the unspotted way, when thou shalt come to me. I walked in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house.

3 Ka mik ah kahoih ai hmuen to ka omsak mak ai; lam amkhraeng kaminawk mah sak ih hmuen to ka hnukma; kai khaeah to baktih hmuennawk akap mak ai.

I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities.

4 Poektoeng ai kaminawk loe kai khae hoi amkhraeng o tih; kasae hmuen roe ka panoek mak ai.

The perverse heart did not cleave to me: and the malignant, that turned aside from me, I would not know.

5 Mi kawbaktih doeh a taeng ih kami to tamquta hoi kasae thui kami loe, kam rosak han; poeksang moe, amoek kami to kang hngai taak duem mak ai.

The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.

6 Kai hoi nawnto a oh o thai hanah, oepthok prae kaminawk to ka khet han; coek koi om ai ah lam caeh kaminawk loe, ka tok to sah o tih.

My eyes were upon the faithful of the earth, to sit with me: the man that walked in the perfect way, he served me.

7 Aling thaih kami loe ka imthung ah om mak ai; amsawnlok thui kami doeh ka hmaa ah angdoe mak ai.

He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes.

8 Prae thungah kaom kasae kaminawk boih kam rosak hmaloe han; hmuensae sah kaminawk doeh Angraeng ih vangpui thung hoiah ka tamit boih han.

In the morning I put to death all the wicked of the land: that I might cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord.
