< Saam 10 >
1 Aw Angraeng, tipongah kangthla ah nang doet ving loe? Tikhoe raihaih ka tongh naah nang hawk ving loe?
Why, Jehovah, dost Thou stand at a distance? Thou dost hide in times of adversity,
2 Kasae kami loe amoek moe, amtang kaminawk to pacaekthlaek; angmacae poeksethaih mah angmacae to naeh nasoe.
Through the pride of the wicked, Is the poor inflamed, They are caught in devices that they devised.
3 Kasae kami loe a palung thungah koeh ih baktiah amoek; anih loe kamtlai koeh hmoek kami to thapaek moe, Angraeng to kasae thuih.
Because the wicked hath boasted Of the desire of his soul, And a dishonest gainer he hath blessed, He hath despised Jehovah.
4 Kasae kami loe, amoek loiah Sithaw to pakrong ai: a poekhaihnawk boih ah Sithaw han ahmuen om ai.
The wicked according to the height of his face, inquireth not. 'God is not!' [are] all his devices.
5 Anih ih loklamnawk loe palungsethaih ah oh; nihcae lokcaekhaih loe Sithaw mah paek ih lok hoiah angthla moe, a misanawk to tiah doeh sah ai.
Pain do his ways at all times, On high [are] Thy judgments before him, All his adversaries — he puffeth at them.
6 Anih mah, Kai loe raihaih ka tong mak ai; natuek naah doeh kam tang mak ai, tiah a poek.
He hath said in his heart, 'I am not moved,' To generation and generation not in evil.
7 Anih ih pakha loe kasaethuihaih, amsawnlok thuihaih, alinghaih hoiah koi, anih palai ah loe raihaih hoi sethaih khue ni oh.
Of oaths his mouth is full, And deceits, and fraud: Under his tongue [is] perverseness and iniquity,
8 Anih loe avang taengah anghawk moe, sakpazaehaih tawn ai kami to hum: amtang kami naeh hanah tamquta hoiah a khet.
He doth sit in an ambush of the villages, In secret places he doth slay the innocent. His eyes for the afflicted watch secretly,
9 Kaipui mah akhaw thung hoi moi angang baktih toengah, anih loe anghawkhaih hoiah a angang: amtang kami to angang moe, anih to angmah taengah phak naah palok hoiah a naeh.
He lieth in wait in a secret place, as a lion in a covert. He lieth in wait to catch the poor, He catcheth the poor, drawing him into his net.
10 Amtang kaminawk a thacakhaih thungah akun o thai hanah, angmah hoi angmah to mi tlim ah kaom thacak ai kami baktiah oh.
He is bruised — he boweth down, Fallen by his mighty ones hath the afflicted.
11 Anih mah palung thung hoiah, Sithaw mah pahnet boeh: a mikhmai to hawk ving boeh, natuek naah doeh hnu mak ai boeh, tiah poek.
He said in his heart, 'God hath forgotten, He hath hid His face, He hath never seen.'
12 Aw Angraeng, angthawk ah! aw Sithaw, na ban to payangh tahang ah: poek pahnaem kaminawk to pahnet hmah.
Arise, O Jehovah! O God, lift up Thy hand! Forget not the humble.
13 Tipongah kasae kami mah Angraeng to kasae thuih loe? Anih loe Angraeng mah kawbangah doeh na naa tang mak ai, tiah a poek.
Wherefore hath the wicked despised God? He hath said in his heart, 'It is not required.'
14 Toe nang mah loe na hnuk pae; raihaih hoi pacip paaahaih to na ban hoi lak hanah na khet: amtang kami loe angmah hoi angmah to nang khaeah ang paek; tipongah tih nahaeloe nang loe ampa tawn ai kami bomkung ah na oh.
Thou hast seen, For Thou perverseness and anger beholdest; By giving into Thy hand, On Thee doth the afflicted leave [it], Of the fatherless Thou hast been an helper.
15 Sethaih sah kami hoi zaehaih sah kami ih ban to khaek pae ah: a sak ih sethaih hnu ai karoek to pakrong ah.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evil, Seek out his wickedness, find none;
16 Angraeng loe dungzan hoi dungzan khoek to Siangpahrang ah oh poe: Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk loe a prae thung hoiah anghmaa o tih.
Jehovah [is] king to the age, and for ever, The nations have perished out of His land!
17 Aw Angraeng, nang loe mi tlim ah khosah kaminawk koehhaih to na panoek pae: nihcae ih palungthin to na caksak:
The desire of the humble Thou hast heard, O Jehovah. Thou preparest their heart; Thou causest Thine ear to attend,
18 Long kami mah pacaekthlaek let han ai ah, ampa tawn ai kami hoi pacaekthlaekhaih tongh kaminawk, toenghaih hoi lokcaek hanah nihcae qahhaih lok to na tahngaih pae.
To judge the fatherless and bruised: He addeth no more to oppress — man of the earth!
