< Palungha Lok 9 >

1 Palunghahaih mah im tung sarihto a aah moe, ohhaih im to a sak;
Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out her seven pillars.
2 angmah pacah ih moinawk to a boh; misurtui to a lawn moe, caboi to pahnut.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
3 A tok sahkung tanglanawk to patoeh moe, vangpui kasang koek ahmuen ah angdoet pacoengah, a hangh.
She has sent out her maidservants; she calls out from the heights of the city.
4 Poekhaih tawn kaminawk haeah angzo oh; khokhan thai ai kaminawk anih khaeah angzo oh, tiah a kawk,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.
5 angzo oh, kai ih takaw hae caa oh loe, ka lawn tangcae misurtui hae nae oh.
“Come, eat my bread and drink the wine I have mixed.
6 Na hing hanah, khosak amthuhaih to caeh taak ah loe, palunghahaih loklam to pazui ah.
Leave your folly behind, and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”
7 Kami tiah doeh sah ai kami thuitaekung loe azathaih to tongh moe, kahoih ai kami thuitaekkung doeh kasae thuihaih to tong lat.
He who corrects a mocker brings shame on himself; he who rebukes a wicked man taints himself.
8 Kami pahnui thuih kami to zoeh hmah, na hnuma lat tih; palungha kami to na zoeh nahaeloe, na palung tih.
Do not rebuke a mocker, or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Palungha kami na thuitaek nahaeloe, palungha aep tih; katoeng kami to na patuk nahaeloe, anih amtukhaih to sang aep tih.
Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.
10 Angraeng zithaih loe palungha amtonghaih takung pui ah oh; ciimcai Sithaw panoekhaih loe palunghahaih ah oh.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 Kai rang hoiah na hinglung sawk ueloe, na hinghaih saning to pop tih.
For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.
12 Palung na ha nahaeloe palunghahaih atho to na hnu tih; toe minawk khet na patoek nahaeloe, nangmah na zok tih.
If you are wise, you are wise to your own advantage; but if you scoff, you alone will bear the consequences.
13 Amthu nongpata ih lok loe ham; anih loe poekhaih tawn ai moe, panoekhaih tidoeh tawn ai.
The woman named Folly is loud; she is naive and knows nothing.
14 Anih loe angmah im thok taengah anghnut moe, vangpui kasang koek ahmuen ah anghnut,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the heights of the city,
15 katoeng loklam caeh kaminawk to a kawk;
calling out to those who pass by, who make their paths straight.
16 poekhaih tawn ai kaminawk khaeah athung bangah angzo oh, tiah a naa; khokhan thai ai kaminawk khaeah loe,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.
17 paquk ih tui loe luep, tamquta hoi caak ih takaw loe khraem, tiah a naa.
“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is tasty!”
18 Toe to ahmuen ah loe duekhaih to oh, nongpata mah kawk ih kaminawk loe duekhaih hell thungah ni oh o, tiah nongpa mah panoek ai. p (Sheol h7585)
But they do not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
