< Palungha Lok 8 >

1 Palunghahaih mah kami to kawk ai maw? Panoekhaih mah doeh tha hoi lokthui ai maw?
Behold, wisdom calleth, and understanding sendeth forth her voice,
2 Anih loe hmuensang hoi lamkrung taengah angdoet.
On the top of high places, by the wayside, at the house where there are [many] paths doth she place herself.
3 Anih loe vangpui thung akunhaih khongkha taeng, thoknawk taengah angdoet moe, tha hoi a hangh.
Alongside of gates, at the opening of the city, at the entrance of the town[-doors] doth she call loudly,
4 Aw kahing kaminawk, kang kawk o; kaminawk hanah lok ka thuih pae.
Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice [goeth forth] to the sons of men,
5 Aw poekhaih tawn ai kami rumramnawk, palunghahaih to panoek oh; Aw amthu kaminawk, panoekhaih palungthin to tawn oh.
Learn, O ye simple, to understand prudence: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Tahngai oh, hmuen kahoih kang thuih o han; toenghaih lok to kang thuih o han.
Hear! for of noble things will I speak; and the opening of my lips shall be of what is equitable.
7 Ka pakha mah loktang lok to thui ueloe, ka pahni mah sethaih to panuet tih.
For truth uttereth my palate ever, and the abomination of my lips is wickedness.
8 Ka pakha pong ih loknawk boih loe toeng, angkawnh moe, amsoem ai lok maeto doeh om ai.
In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, there is in them nothing crooked or perverse.
9 Thaikop kami hanah loe hmuennawk boih to zoi, palunghahaih pakrong kami han loe toenghaih ah oh.
They are all evident to the man of understanding, and correct to those that have obtained knowledge.
10 Sumkanglung pongah loe ka thuitaekhaih hae talawk ah loe, sui pongah loe palunghahaih to qoi ah.
Accept my correction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 Atho kana thlung kathim pongah loe palunghahaih to hoih kue, to loe koeh ih hmuennawk boih hoiah patah thai ai.
For wisdom is better than pearls; and all the things that men wish for are not equal to her.
12 Ka palunghahaih loe acoehaih hoiah amraep pongah, palunghahaih hoi panoekhaih to ohsak.
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and the knowledge of discreet thoughts do I discover.
13 Kahoih ai hmuen zithaih loe, Angraeng zithaih ah oh; amoekhaih, poeksanghaih, sethaih loklam hoi lok kangkoiah thuihaih to ka hnukma.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride and arrogance, and the evil way: and the mouth of perverseness do I hate.
14 Poek kahoih paekhaih hoi palunghahaih loe kai ih ni; kai loe panoekhaih hoi sakthaihaih tha to ka tawnh.
Mine are counsel and sound wisdom: I am understanding; mine is might.
15 Siangpahrangnawk loe kai rang hoiah ni angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnut o moe, katoeng patukhaih to angraengnawk mah pazui o.
Through me do kings reign, and chieftains give decrees [in] righteousness.
16 Kai rang hoiah angraeng capanawk, angraengnawk hoi lokcaekkungnawk mah, long kaminawk to uk o.
Through me do princes rule, and the nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 Kai palung kaminawk to ka palung, palung tang hoi kai pakrong kaminawk mah loe kai to ang hnuk o.
I indeed love those that love me: and those that seek me earnestly shall find me.
18 Angraenghaih hoi pakoehhaih loe kai khaeah oh; ue, atue kasawkah kakaan angraenghaih hoi toenghaih doeh oh.
Riches and honor are with me, yea, enduring wealth and righteousness.
19 Kai ih athaih loe sui pongah hoih kue; ue, kaciim suitui pongah doeh hoih kue; kai khae hoi hakih hmuen loe, qoih het ih sumkanglung pongah doeh hoih kue.
My fruit is better than gold, and than fine gold; and my products, than choice silver.
20 Kai loe toenghaih hoi katoeng lokcaekhaih loklam um li ah ka caeh pongah,
On the road of righteousness do I walk firmly, in the midst the paths of justice:
21 kai palung kaminawk khaeah qawktoephaih to ka paek, nihcae hmuen patunghaih ahmuen to ka koisak han.
That I may cause those that love me to inherit a lasting possession; and their treasures will I fill
22 Kai loe canghnii ih hmuennawk sah ai nathuem, a tok sak amtong tangsuek na hoi boeh ni Angraeng ih hmuen ah ka oh.
The Lord created me as the beginning of his way, the first of his works from the commencement,
23 Kai loe long om ai vop, long oh amtong tangsuek nathuem hoiah dungzan ah ang caksak boeh.
From eternity was I appointed chief, from the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.
24 Tuipuinawk om o ai vop, vapui tui doeh long ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh.
When there were yet no depths, was I brought forth; when there were yet no springs laden heavily with water.
25 Maenawk om ai vop, maesomnawk doeh om ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh;
Before the mountains were yet sunk down, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 long hoi tawnawk to sah ai vop, long nui ih maiphu doeh sah ai naah, kai hae ang tapen boeh.
While as yet he had not made the land and open fields, nor the chief of the dust of the world.
27 Vannawk to sak moe, tuipuinawk hmaa ah kaom hmuennawk to a sak nathuem,
When he prepared the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle over the face of the deep;
28 van ranui ih tamainawk to a sak moe, tuipui thung ih tuinawk to thacaksak nathuem;
When he fastened the skies above; when the springs of the deep became strong;
29 a paek ih lok to tui mah poeng thai han ai ah, long angdoethaih ahmuen a sak naah kai ka oh boeh:
When he assigned to the sea his decree, that the waters should not transgress his order: when he established firmly the foundations of the earth:
30 to naah kai loe anih hoi nawnto qoeng tahang capa baktiah, anih taengah ka oh; ni thokkruek anih anghoehaih ah ka oh; a hmaa ah anghoehaih hoiah ka koi poe;
Then was I near him, as a nursling: and I was day by day [his] delights, playing before him at all times;
31 a sak ih long nuiah anghoehaih ka tawnh moe, kami capanawk nuiah doeh oephaih ka tawnh.
Playing in the world, his earth; and having my delights with the sons of men.
32 To pongah Aw ka caanawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh; kai ih loklam pazui kaminawk loe tahamhoih o.
And now, O children [of men], hearken unto me! for happy those that observe my ways.
33 Kang thuitaekhaih lok to tahngai oh, pahnawt o hmah loe, palungha oh.
Hear correction, and be wise, and reject it not.
34 Ka lok tahngaih moe, ni thokkruek kai ih khongkhanawk to toep pacoengah, kai ih thok tungnawk taengah zing kami loe, tahamhoih.
Happy is the man that hearkeneth unto me, watching day by day at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 Kai hnu kami loe hinghaih to hnuk; Angraeng anghoehaih to a hnuk.
For he who findeth me findeth life, and he obtaineth favor from the Lord.
36 Toe ka hmaa ah zaehaih sah kami loe, a hinghaih paro kami ah oh; kai hnuma kaminawk boih loe, duekhaih palung kami ah ni oh o.
But he that sinneth against me doth violence to his own soul: all those that hate me love death.
