< Palungha Lok 7 >

1 Ka capa, ka thuih ih loknawk hae pakuem ah, kang paek ih loknawk to palung thungah suem ah.
My son, keep my sayings, and, my commandments, treasure by thee;
2 Kang paek ih loknawk to pakuemh loe, hing haih ah; kang patuk ih lok to na mikmu baktiah suem ah.
Keep my commandments and live, and mine instruction, as the pupil of thine eye;
3 Na banpazung nuiah komh loe, na palung thungah tarik ah.
Bind them upon thy fingers, write them, on the tablet of thy heart;
4 Palunghahaih khaeah, Nang loe ka tanuh baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah loe, panoekhaih khaeah, Nang loe ka canawk baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah;
Say unto wisdom, My sister, thou! and, an acquaintance, call thou, understanding:
5 to tiah na sak nahaeloe zaehaih sak koeh nongpata, minawk zoek thaih nongpata ban thung hoiah na pakaa tih.
That thou mayest be kept, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who, with her speeches, doth flatter.
6 Ka im thokbuem hoi ka khet naah ka hnuk ih hmuen loe,
For, in the window of my house, through my lattice, I looked out;
7 poekhaih tawn ai kami rumramnawk thungah ka khet naah, thendoengnawk thungah, poekhaih tawn ai thendoeng maeto ka hnuk.
And saw among the simple ones, discerned among the youths, A young man lacking sense;
8 To kami loe nongpata ohhaih loklam im takii bang hoiah to nongpata ohhaih im bangah a caeh,
Passing through the street, near her corner, and, on the way to her house, he sauntered along;
9 Duembang khoving, khoving qum taning tue phak naah loe,
In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the midst of the night, and the gloom;
10 khenah, tangzat zaw khukbuen angkhuk, minawk kazoek thaih nongpata loe anih hnuk hanah angzoh.
And lo! a woman, came to meet him, attired as one unchaste, of a wily heart.
11 To nongpata loe palungthah moe, lok doeh ho parai; anih loe angmah ih im ah doeh om vai ai.
Boisterous, is she, and rebellious, In her house, abide not her feet;
12 Anih loe tasa bangah tacawt moe, kami angpophaih loklam, lam takii kruekah minawk to a zing.
Now outside, now in the broadways, and, near every corner, she lieth in wait:
13 To nongpata mah anih to naeh moe, a mok; azathaih mikhmai tawn ai ah anih khaeah,
So she caught him, and kissed him, and, embolding her face, she said to him:
14 misa angdaeh angbawnhaih sak han ka tawnh; vaihniah lokkamhaih ka koepsak boeh.
Peace-offerings, are by me, to-day, have I paid my vows;
15 To pongah nang hnuk hanah kang zoh, palung tang hoi nang to kang pakrong, vaihi loe kang hnuk boeh.
For this cause, came I forth to meet thee, to seek diligently thy face, and I have found thee:
16 Rong congca kaom Izip prae ih, puu kahni hoiah ka iihhaih ahmuen to ka khuk het boeh.
Coverlets, have I spread on my couch of pleasure, dark-hued stuffs, of the yarn of Egypt;
17 Hmuihoih tui myrrh, aloe, cinnamon hoiah iihkhun to ka bawh boeh.
I have sprinkled my bed, with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon:
18 Angzo ah, khawnbang khodai khoek to amlunghaih hoiah angkom hoi si; amlunghaih hoiah kanawm acaeng hoi si!
Come! let us take our fill of endearments, until morning, let us delight ourselves with caresses;
19 Ka sava loe im ah om ai, angthla parai kholong ah a caeh ving.
For the husband is not in his house, he hath gone on a journey afar;
20 Anih loe phoisa tabu koi mongah phoisa to pacaeng pongah, khrah akoep ai karoek to im ah amlaem mak ai, tiah a naa.
A bag of silver, hath he taken in his hand, On the day of the full moon, will he enter his house.
21 Lokthuih kophaih hoiah anih to a zoek moe, kanaem lok hoiah anih to pazawk.
She turneth him aside, with her great persuasiveness, —with the flattery of her lips, she compelleth him:
22 Anih loe boh hanah hoih ih maitaw, thaang kacawh tasuk baktiah to nongpata hnukah bang roep;
Going after her instantly, as an ox, to the slaughter, he entereth, and, as in fetters, unto the correction of a fool.
23 anih loe panoekhaih tamsi pongah, palaa mah anih ih pathin to kaat ai karoek to, dongh pongah kaman tavaa baktiah a hinghaih to boengsak.
Until an arrow cleaveth his liver, as a bird hasteth into a snare, and knoweth not, that, for his life, it is!
24 To pongah ka caanawk, ka lok to tahngai oh loe, ka thuih ih lok to pakuem oh.
Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend, to the sayings of my mouth;
25 To nongpata hnukah na poekhaih caeh o sak hmah loe, to nongpata ih loklam doeh pazui o hmah.
Let not thy heart, turn aside to her ways, Do not go astray, in her paths.
26 Anih mah kami paroeai amtimsak boeh; ue, paroeai thacak kaminawk doeh anih mah hum boeh.
For, many, wounded, hath she caused to fall, —yea strong men, slain wholly by her:
27 Anih ih im loe hell caehhaih manglai lam ah oh moe, duekhaih imthung ah akun tathuk. (Sheol h7585)
Ways to hades, are in her house, descending into the chambers of death. (Sheol h7585)
