< Palungha Lok 31 >

1 Lemuel siangpahrang ih palunghahaih lok, amno mah patuk ih lok loe hae tiah oh;
The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 aw ka capa, aw ka zok thung ih ka capa, aw lokkamhaih ka capa,
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3 na thacakhaih to nongpatanawk khaeah patoh hmah loe, siangpahrang hum koeh kaminawk caehhaih loklam to pazui hmah.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4 Aw Lemuel, siangpahrangnawk loe misurtui naek han om ai; angraengnawk loe misurtui paqui han amcuk ai;
[It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6 Anghmaa angtaa kami hanah mu to paek oh loe, palungboeng kami hanah misurtui to paek oh.
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7 Anih mah amtanghaih hoi patangkhanghaih pahnet hanah nae nasoe.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Amtang kaminawk mah hak han koi hmuen to a hak o thai hanah, lokthui thai ai kaminawk to lokthuih abomh oh.
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9 Lok to thui ah loe, toenghaih hoiah lok to caek ah; amtang kami hoi mithoenawk mah hak han koi hmuen to paek oh.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10 Mi mah maw tuinuen kahoih zu to hnu thai tih? To nongpata loe atho kana thlung kathim pongah atho oh kue.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.
11 A sava mah anih to oep ueloe, amtanghaih hoiah loih tih.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 To baktih nongpata loe a sava hanah kasae hmuen to sah ai; a hing thung kahoih hmuen to a sinh pae.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 Anih loe hmuenmae zawhaih palongpui baktiah oh moe, angthla parai ahmuen hoiah caaknaek to a phawh.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 Anih loe khodai ai naah angthawk moe, a imthung takoh hanah caaknaek to patoem pae, a tamna nongpatanawk hanah caaknaek to a paek.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 Anih loe poek het moe, lawk doeh a qanh; a toksakhaih atho hoiah misurkung to a tlingh.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 Anih loe kaengkaeh to kacakah angzaeng moe, a ban to thacaksak.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 Anih mah zawh ih hmuenmae loe atho oh; anih ih hmaiim doeh aqum puek dueh mak ai.
She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 A ban hoiah lahat to a kaeh moe, a ban hoiah kahni to a sak.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 Amtang kaminawk to a khetzawn, ue, mithoenawk to abomh.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 Anih ih imthung takoh loe kahni kamling to angkhuk o boih pongah, dantui krah cadoeh tasoehhaih tawn ai.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.
22 Angmah hanah kahni to a sak moe, rong kamling hup puu ngan laihaw to angkhuk.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.
23 Anih ih sava loe vangpui khongkhanawk ah prae thung ih kacoehtanawk hoi nawnto anghnut moe, ahmin amthang kami ah oh.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 Anih loe puu ngan kahni to sak moe, a zawh; kaziinawk doeh hmuenmae zaw kami khaeah a zawh.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it; ] and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Anih loe thacak moe, khingya koi khukbuen hoiah amthoep; anih loe angzo han koi atue ah anghoehaih hoiah khosah tih.
Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 Anih loe palunghahaih hoiah lok to thuih, anih ih pahni ah tahmenhaih lok to oh.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.
27 Anih loe angmah ih imthung takoh to kahoih ah khetzawn, thasethaih buh to caa ai.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 A caanawk loe angthawk o moe, amno to tahamhoihaih paek o; a sava mah doeh anih to pakoeh.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.
29 Paroeai kami ih canunawk mah kahoih hmuen to sak o; toe nang mah loe nihcae to na takrenh boih.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Lok kahoih loe alinghaih ah ni oh; kranghoihaih doeh azom pui ni; toe Angraeng zii nongpata loe, pakoehhaih hnu tih.
Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 To baktih nongpata hanah a toksakhaih tangqum to paek oh; a toksakhaih mah anih to vangpui khongkha ah pakoeh nasoe.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
