< Palungha Lok 15 >
1 Loknaem mah palungphuihaih to dipsak; toe lokham mah loe palungphuihaih to tacawtsak.
A mild response shatters anger. But a harsh word stirs up fury.
2 Palungha kami loe palai to katoeng ah patoh; toe kamthu ih pakha mah loe amthuhaih to tacawtsak.
The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge. But the mouth of the senseless gushes with foolishness.
3 Angraeng ih mik loe ahmuen kruekah oh moe, kasae kahoih to khet.
In every place, the eyes of the Lord consider good and evil.
4 Kahoih lok kathui palai loe kami ngantuihaih ah oh; toe aling thaih palai loe poekhaih patangkhangsak.
A peaceful tongue is a tree of life. But that which is immoderate will crush the spirit.
5 Kamthu loe ampa thuitaekhaih to patoek; toe palungha kami loe thuitaekhaih lok to tahngaih.
A fool laughs at the discipline of his father. But whoever preserves rebukes will become astute. In abundant justice, there is very great virtue. But the intentions of the impious will be eradicated.
6 Katoeng kami ih im ah loe hmuenmae oh mangh; toe kasae kami ih phoisa mah loe raihaih to tacawtsak.
The house of the just has very great strength. And in the fruits of the impious, there is disorder.
7 Palungha kami ih pahni mah palunghahaih to pungsak; toe kamthu ih palung ah loe palunghahaih to om ai.
The lips of the wise shall disseminate knowledge. The heart of the foolish will be dissimilar.
8 Kami zae angbawnhaih loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe katoeng kami lawkthuihaih mah Angraeng to anghoesak.
The sacrifices of the impious are abominable to the Lord. The vows of the just are appeasing.
9 Kasae kami ih loklam loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih pakrong kaminawk loe anih mah palung.
The way of the impious is an abomination to the Lord. Whoever pursues justice is loved by him.
10 Lam amkhraeng kaminawk loe thuitaekhaih to koeh o ai; toe thuitaekhaih hnuma kami loe dueh tih.
Doctrine is evil to those who abandon the way of life. Whoever hates correction shall die.

Hell and perdition are in the sight of the Lord. How much more the hearts of the sons of men! (Sheol )
12 Minawk patoek kami loe thuitaek naah palungphui; palungha kami khaeah lokduenghaih to tawn mak ai.
He who corrupts himself does not love the one who afflicts him, nor will he step toward the wise.
13 Palung anghoe naah mikhmai pan; toe palungset naah loe poekhaih patangkhang.
A rejoicing heart gladdens the face. But by the grief of the soul, the spirit is cast down.
14 Khopoek thaih palung mah loe palunghahaih to pakrong; toe kamthu ih pakha loe amthuhaih to zok ah amthlam.
The heart of the wise seeks doctrine. And the mouth of the foolish feeds on ignorance.
15 Amtanghaih tlim ah khosah kaminawk ih aninawk loe sethaih hoiah koi; toe poeknawmhaih loe sak toepsoep ih buhraenghaih poih ah oh.
All the days of the poor are evil. A secure mind is like a continual feast.
16 Dawnraihaih hoiah hmuenmae angraeng parai pongah loe, Angraeng zithaih hoiah hmuen zetta tawnh to hoih kue.
Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures and dissatisfaction.
17 Kathawk hruk maitaw to boh moe, anghnukmahaih ahmuen ah buhcaak pongah loe, amlunghaih kaom ahmuen ah aan hoiah buhcaak to hoih kue.
It is better to be called to vegetables with charity, than to a fatted calf with hatred.
18 Palungphuihaih mah ampraekhaih to tacawtsak; toe pauephaih tawn kami loe angzoehhaih to dipsak.
A short-tempered man provokes conflicts. Whoever is patient tempers those who are stirred up.
19 Thasae kami ih loklam loe soekhring hoiah koi; toe katoeng kami caehhaih loklam loe manglaih lampui ah oh.
The way of the slothful is like a hedge of thorns. The way of the just is without offense.
20 Palungha capa mah ampa to anghoesak; toe kamthu loe amno to hnaphnae.
A wise son gladdens the father. But the foolish man despises his mother.
21 Kamthu loe poekhaih tawn ai kami to kawnh haih; toe palungha kami loe katoengah lamcaeh.
Folly is gladness to the foolish. And the prudent man sets his own steps in order.
22 Poekhaih kahoih paek ih om ai ah loe sak atimhaih to amro; toe poekhaih kahoih paek kami pop naah sak atimhaih to cak.
Intentions dissipate where there is no counsel. Yet truly, they are confirmed where there are many counselors.
23 Kami loe lokduenghaih pathim naah anghoe; atue nathuem ah apaeh ih lok loe kawkruk maw hoih!
A man rejoices in the verdict of his own mouth. And a word at the right time is best.

The path of life is for the wise above, so that he may turn away from the end of Hell. (Sheol )
25 Amoek kami ih im loe Angraeng mah phrae tih; toe lamhmai ih ramri loe caksak tih.
The Lord will demolish the house of the arrogant. And He will make firm the borders of the widow.
26 Kasae kami poekhaih loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe poekciim kaminawk ih poekhaihnawk loe a kawnh pae.
Evil intentions are an abomination to the Lord. And pure conversation, most beautiful, shall be confirmed by him.
27 Kamthlai koeh hmoek kami imthung ah raihaih to phak; toe bokhaih tangqum hnuma kami loe hing tih.
Whoever pursues avarice disturbs his own house. But whoever hates bribes shall live. Through mercy and faith, sins are purged. But through the fear of the Lord, each one turns aside from evil.
28 Katoeng kami loe lok pathim hanah palung thung hoiah lok to khingh; toe kasae kami ih pakha loe loksae to pathaak.
The mind of the just meditates on obedience. The mouth of the impious overflows with evils.
29 Kasae kami loe Angraeng mah amhoe taak; toe katoeng kaminawk ih lawkthuihaih lok loe anih mah tahngaih pae.
The Lord is distant from the impious. And he will heed the prayers of the just.
30 Mikhmai panhaih mah palung anghoesak; kahoih tamthang mah huhong ngantuisak.
The light of the eyes rejoices the soul. A good reputation fattens the bones.
31 Hinghaih paek thaih thuitaekhaih lok tahngai kami loe, palungha kaminawk ohhaih im ah om toeng tih.
The ear that listens to the reproofs of life shall abide in the midst of the wise.
32 Thuitaekhaih lok tahngai ai kami loe a hinghaih patoek kami ah oh.
Whoever rejects discipline despises his own soul. But whoever agrees to correction is a possessor of the heart.
33 Angraeng zithaih loe palungha amtuenghaih ih ni; kami tlim ah khosakhaih loe minawk mah pakoeh ih loklam ah oh.
The fear of the Lord is the discipline of wisdom. And humility precedes glory.
