< Palungha Lok 12 >
1 Thuitaekhaih koeh kami loe palungha kami ah oh; toe zoehhaih hnuma kami loe amthu kami ni.
Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 Kahoih kami mah loe Angraeng palung anghoesak; toe kahoih ai hmuen poek kami loe lokcaekhaih to hnu tih.
A good man shall obtain favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 Kahoih ai hmuen mah kami tangzun caksak ai; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aphong thai mak ai.
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall never be moved.
4 Tuinuen kahoih zu loe a sava han sui lumuek ah oh; toe ahmin saesak zu loe sava ih ahuh to hmawnsak.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 Katoeng kami poekhaih loe toeng; toe kasae kaminawk ih lok loe alinghaih ah oh.
The thoughts of the righteous are just: [but] the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 Kasae kami ih lok loe minawk athii palonghaih to zing; toe katoeng kami ih lok loe minawk to pahlong.
The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 Kasae kami ih im loe amtim ueloe, anghmaa tih; toe katoeng kami ih im loe kacakah angdoe poe tih.
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 Palungha kami loe minawk mah pakoehhaih to hnuk; toe poek angkawn kami loe minawk mah hnap.
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 Angmah hoi angmah angraeng ah amkoeh, caaknaek tawn ai kami pongah loe, kami mah patoek e, caaknaek tawn toksah kami to hoih kue.
Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10 Katoeng kaminawk loe a pacah ih moinawk nuiah tahmenhaih to tawnh; toe hmawsaenghaih loe kasae kaminawk ih tahmenhaih sang koek ah oh.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 Angmah ih lawk phrawk kami loe zok amhah tih; toe palungha ai kami loe tidoeh avang ai kami hnukah bang.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain [persons] is void of understanding.
12 Katoeng ai kami loe kasae kami ih palok to patoh han koeh; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aquih tacawt.
The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].
13 Kasae kami loe a pahni zaehaih mah dongh pongah amansak; toe kami katoeng loe raihaih thung hoiah loih.
In the transgression of the lips is a snare to the evil man: but the righteous shall come out of trouble.
14 Kami loe angmah pahni athaih hoiah zok amhah tih; a ban hoi sak ih kasae kahoih hmuen baktih toengah atho doeh hnu tih.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the doings of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 Kamthu loe a caehhaih loklam to kamsoem ah a hnuk; toe palungha kami loe minawk mah thuih ih lok to tahngaih.
The way of the foolish is right in his own eyes: but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.
16 Kamthu loe palungphuihaih to amtuengsak roep; toe palungha kami loe azat koi hmuen to angphat.
A fool’s vexation is presently known: but a prudent man concealeth shame.
17 Loktang thui kami loe toenghaih to amtuengsak; amsawnlok pongah hnukung ah angdoe kami loe alinghaih to amtuengsak.
He that uttereth truth sheweth forth righteousness, but a false witness deceit.
18 Sumsen hoi thunh ih baktiah lok apae kami to oh; toe palungha kami ih palai mah loe kami ngantuisak.
There is that speaketh rashly like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 Loktang pahni loe dungzan khoek to cak; toe amsawnlok loe nawnetta ni oh.
The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Kahoih ai hmuen poek kaminawk ih palung thungah alinghaih to oh; toe angdaehhaih sah kaminawk loe anghoehaih tawnh o.
Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 Katoeng kaminawk khaeah sethaih pha mak ai; toe kasae kami loe tahamsethaih hoiah koi tih.
There shall no mischief happen to the righteous: but the wicked shall be filled with evil.
22 Lok amlai palai loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih hoi khosah kaminawk loe Angraeng mah palung.
Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 Palungha kami loe panoekhaih to angphat; toe amthu ih palungthin mah loe amthuhaih to amtuengsak.
A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 Thahoih ban mah kami to uk tih; toe thasae kami loe misong ah om tih.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be put under taskwork.
25 Palungsethaih mah kami palungboengsak; thapaekhaih lok mah poek nawmsak.
Heaviness in the heart of a man maketh it stoop; but a good word maketh it glad.
26 Katoeng kami loe a imtaeng kami to loklam patuek; toe kahoih ai kami ih loklam mah nihcae to loklam anghmangsak.
The righteous is a guide to his neighbour: but the way of the wicked causeth them to err.
27 Thasae kami loe a kah ih moi paaem han mataeng doeh paqak; thahoih kami ih tacong loe atho oh.
The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the precious substance of men [is to] the diligent.
28 Toenghaih loklam ah duekhaih om ai, hinghaih ni oh.
In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
