< Palungha Lok 11 >

1 Angraeng loe katoeng ai tahhaih to pahnuet; toe katoeng tahhaih nuiah loe anghoehaih tawnh.
False balances are an abomination before the Lord: but a just weight is acceptable to him.
2 Amoekhaih oh naah, azathaih to oh; toe minawk tlim ah khosah kami khaeah loe palunghahaih to oh.
Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: but the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom.
3 Poektoeng kami loe toenghaih mah zaeh; toe poeksae kami loe poeksethaih mah amrosak tih.
When a just man dies he leaves regret: but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.
4 Sithaw palungphui naah angraenghaih mah na bomh mak ai; toe toenghaih mah loe duekhaih thung hoiah pahlong.
[Possessions will not profit in a day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death. ]
5 Coek koi om ai katoeng kami loe toenghaih mah loklam to hnuksak; toe kasae kami loe a sethaih mah amtimsak tik.
Righteousness traces out blameless paths: but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing.
6 Katoeng kaminawk loe angmacae toenghaih mah nihcae to pahlong tih; toe sethaih sah kaminawk loe angmacae sethaih pongah aman o tih.
The righteousness of upright men delivers them: but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.
7 Kahoih ai kami duek naah, anih oephaih doeh anghma tih; poektoeng ai kaminawk ih oephaih loe anghmat.
At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: but the boast of the ungodly perishes.
8 Katoeng kami to raihaih thung hoiah pahlong, anih zuengah kasae kami nuiah raihaih to phak.
A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.
9 Angsah thaih kami loe pronghaih lok hoiah a imtaeng kami to amrosak; toe katoeng kami loe palunghahaih hoiah loi tih.
In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: but the understanding of righteous men is prosperous.
10 Katoeng kami khosak hoih naah, vangpui to anghoe; kasae kami duek naah loe, anghoe hoi hanghaih lok to oh.
In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: but by the mouth of ungodly men it is overthrown.
11 Katoeng kami tahamhoih naah, vangpui to pakoeh ah oh; toe kasae kami ih pakha mah loe vangpui to amrosak.
[At the blessing of the upright a city shall be exalted. ]
12 Palunghahaih tawn ai kami loe, a imtaeng kami to khet patoek; toe palunghahaih tawn kami loe a palai to ciipsak.
A man void of understanding sneers at [his fellow] citizens: but a sensible man is quiet.
13 Lokpung kami loe tamqu hmuen to taphong; toe oepthok kami loe tamqu hmuen to angphat.
A double-tongued man discloses the [secret] counsels of an assembly: but he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters.
14 Zaehhoihaih om ai naah, prae kaminawk amro o; toe poekhaih paek thaih kami pop tawnh naah ngancuemhaih to oh.
They that have no guidance fall like leaves: but in much counsel there is safety.
15 Angvin ih laiba pathok pae hanah lokkam kami loe poek angpho tih; toe to tiah lokkam ai kami loe mawnhaih tawn mak ai.
A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: and he hates the sound of safety.
16 Tahmenhaih tawn nongpata loe khingzahaih to hak; toe thahoih nongpanawk loe angraeng o.
A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonor. The slothful come to lack: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.
17 Tahmenhaih tawn kami loe tangqum to hak; toe hmawsaeng kami loe a taksa raihaih paek kami ah ni oh.
A merciful man does good to his own soul: but the merciless destroys his own body.
18 Kasae kami loe alinghaih atho to hnuk; toe toenghaih tuh kami loe amkhrai thai ai tangqum to hak.
An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.
19 Toenghaih loe hinghaih ah oh baktih toengah, sethaih hnukah patom kami loe a duekhaih ni patom.
A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly [ends] in death.
20 Poek angkawn kami loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih loklam pazui kami nuiah loe anghoehaih to tawnh.
Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: but all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him.
21 Kasae kaminawk loe nawnto amhong o cadoeh, danpaek ai ah om mak ai; toe katoeng kaminawk ih caa loe loihsak tih.
He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: but he that sows righteousness he shall receive a faithful reward.
22 Khopoek thai ai kranghoih nongpata loe, ok tahmawh nui ih sui bantuek baktiah ni oh.
As an ornament in a swine's snout, so is beauty to an ill-minded women.
23 Katoeng kami loe kahoih hmuen khue ni koeh; toe kasae kami ih oephaih loe palungphuihaih hae ni.
All the desire of the righteous is good: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
24 Cangti haeh kami loe pop aep ah hak; angaihaih pong kamthlai ah patung kami loe amtang aep.
There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more: and there are [some] also who gather, [yet] have less.
25 Kuuhoih kami loe angraeng; minawk han tuibawh kami loe, angmah doeh tuibawh ah om toeng tih.
Every sincere soul is blessed: but a passionate man is not graceful.
26 Cang zawh paawt kami loe, minawk mah kasae thui tih; toe cang zaw kami ih lu loe tahamhoihaih om tih.
May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives [it].
27 Kahoih hmuen pakrong kami loe hoihaih to hnuk; toe kahoih ai hmuen pakrong kami loe sethaih to hnu tih.
He that devises good [counsels] seeks good favor: but [as for] him that seeks after evil, [evil] shall overtake him.
28 Angmah angraenghaih oep kami loe amtim tih; toe katoeng kami loe thingqam baktiah sai tih.
He that trusts in wealth shall fall; but he that helps righteous men shall rise.
29 Angmah imthung raihaih paek kami loe takhi to qawk ah toep tih; amthu loe palungha kami ih tamna ah om tih.
He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise man.
30 Hinghaih thingkung loe toenghaih thingthai ah oh; palungha kami loe minawk hinghaih to pazawk.
Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.
31 Khenah, katoeng kaminawk mataeng doeh long nuiah hnuk han koi atho to hnu o nahaeloe, Sithaw panoek ai kami hoi zaehaih sak koeh kaminawk cae loe kawkruk maw danpaekhaih atho to hnu o tih!
If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
