Nehemiah 12

And these are the priests and the Levites that came up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Jeshua': Serayah, Jeremiah, 'Ezra,

2 Amariah, Malluk, Hattush,

Amaryah, Malluch, Chattush,

3 Shekaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,

Shechanyah, Rechum, Meremoth,

4 Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah,

'Iddo, Ginnethoy, Abiyah,

5 Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

Miyamin, Ma'adyah, Bilgah,

6 Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,

Shema'yah, and Joyarib, Jed'ayah,

7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah hoi Jedaih cae hae ni. Hae kaminawk loe Jeshua dung ah zaehoikung qaima hoi anih ih nawkamya ah oh o.

Sallu, 'Amok, Chilkiyah, Jed'ayah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua'.

8 Levinawk loe Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah hoi Mattaniah; Mattaniah loe angmah ih nawkamyanawk hoi nawnto anghoehaih laasah kaminawk zaehoikung ah oh.

And the Levites: Jeshua', Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebyah, Judah, and Matthaniah, who was over the songs of thanksgiving, he and his brethren;

9 Bakbukiah hoi Unni, anih ih nawkamyanawk loe misatoephaih tok to sak o.

And Bakbukyah and 'Unni, their brethren, were opposite to them in the watches.

10 Jeshua mah Joiakim to sak, Joiakim mah Eliashib to sak, Eliashib mah Joiada to sak,

And Jeshua' begat Joyakim, and Joyakim begat Elyashib, and Elyashib begat Joyada'.

11 Joiada mah Jonathan to sak, Jonathan mah Jaddua to sak.

And Joyada' begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua'.

12 Joiakim dung ah, acaeng zaehoikung ah kaom qaimanawk loe, Seraiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Meraiah; Jeremiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Hananiah;

And in the days of Joyakim were priests, as chiefs of the divisions: Of Serayah, Merayah; of Jeremiah, Chananyah;

13 Ezra imthung takoh thung hoiah Meshullam; Amariah imthung takoh thung hoiah Jehohanan;

Of 'Ezra, Meshullam; of Amaryah, Jehochanan;

14 Melichu imthung takoh thung hoiah Jonathan; Shekaniah imthung takoh thung hoiah Joseph;

Of Mellchu, Jonathan; of Shebanyah, Joseph;

15 Harim imthung takoh thung hoiah Adna; Meraioth imthung takoh thung hoiah Helkai;

Of Charim, 'Adna; of Merayoth, Chelkai;

16 Iddo imthung takoh thung hoiah Zekariah; Ginnethon imthung takoh thung hoiah Meshullam;

Of 'Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 Abijah imthung takoh thung hoiah Zikri; Miniamin hoi Moadiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Pittai;

Of Abiyah, Zichri; of Minyamin, of Mo'adyah, Piltai;

18 Bilgah imthung takoh thung hoiah Shammua; Shemaiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Jehonathan;

Of Bilgah, Shammua'; of Shem'ayah, Jehonathan;

19 Joiarib imthung takoh thung hoiah Mattenai; Jedaiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Uzzi;

And of Joyarib, Matthenai; of Jeda'yah, 'Uzzi;

20 Sallai imthung takoh thung hoiah Kallai; Amok imthung takoh thung hoiah Eber;

Of Sallai, Kallai; of 'Amok, 'Eber;

21 Hilkiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Hashabiah; Jedaiah imthung takoh thung hoiah Nethanel to oh.

Of Chilkiyah, Chashabyah; of Jeda'yah, Nethanel.

22 Eliaship, Joiada, Johanan hoi Jaddua dung ah, Levi acaeng zaehoikungnawk hoi qaimanawk loe Persia siangpahrang Darius ukhaih khoek to ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o.

Of the Levites in the days of Elyashib, Yoyada', and Yochanan, and Jaddua', are written down the chiefs of the divisions: also those of the priests to the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 Levi acaeng zaehoikung lu koeknawk loe Elaiship capa Johanan dung karoek to ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o.

The sons of Levi, the chiefs of the divisions were written down in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Jochanan the son of Elyashib.

24 Hashabiah, Sherebiah, kadmiel capa Jeshua hoi angmah ih nawkamyanawk loe Levi acaeng zaehoikung ah oh o; nihcae loe Sithaw kami David mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, saphawhaih laa hoi anghoe lokthuihaih tok to, maeto pacoeng maeto a sak o.

And the chiefs of the Levites were: Chashabyah, Sherebyah, and Jeshua' the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite to them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the command of David the man of God, section by section.

25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon hoi Akkub cae loe khongkha taengah angdoe, khongkha toep kami ah oh o.

Matthanyah, and Bakbukyah, 'Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, 'Akkub, were watching gatekeepers on the watch at the thresholds of the gates.

26 Nihcae loe Jeshua capa Joiakim, Joiakim capa Jozadak dung, prae ukkung Nehemiah dung, qaima hoi ca tarikkung ah kaom, Ezra dung ah oh o boeh.

These were in the days of Joyakim, the son of Jeshua', the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of 'Ezra the priest, the expounder.

27 Jerusalem tapang tathlanghaih sak o naah, cingceng, katoeng, aqui pop katoengnawk to kruek o moe, laasakhaih, anghoe lokthuihaih hoi kanawm ah sak o, to naah ahmuen kruekah Levinawk to pakrong o moe, Jerusalem ah caeh o haih.

And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to celebrate the dedication with joy, with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.

28 Laasah kaminawk loe Jerusalem taeng ih tangtling ah kaom, Netophath avangnawk,

And there gathered themselves together the sons of the singers, both out of the district round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophah;

29 Gilgal, Geba, Azmaveth avangnawk hoiah angzoh o; laasah kaminawk loe Jerusalem taengah avang tanawk to sak o.

Also from Beth-hagilgal, and out of the fields of Geba' and Azmaveth; for the singers had built themselves villages round about Jerusalem.

30 Qaima hoi Levinawk loe angmacae hoi angmacae to ciimcai ah oh o moe, kaminawk, khongkhanawk hoi tapangnawk doeh ciim o sak.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and then they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

31 Judah zaehoikungnawk to tapang nuiah ka dawhsak moe, anghoehaih laasah kami abu hnetto ah ka ohsak, abu maeto loe tapang nui bantang bang ih, anghnoeng khongkha bangah a caeh o.

Then brought I up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and stationed two great companies for thanksgiving, and trains to walk on the right hand upon the wall by the dung-gate;

32 Nihcae hnukah Hoshaiah hoi Judah zaehoikungnawk ahap caeh o; to kaminawk loe,

And after them walked Hosha'yah, and half of the princes of Judah,

33 Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

And 'Azaryah, 'Ezra, and Meshullam,

34 Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah;

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shema'yah, and Jeremiah;

35 Mongkah sin qaima ih caanawk ahap caeh o; nihcae loe Asaph ih capa Zakur, anih ih capa Mikaiah, anih ih capa Mattaniah, anih ih capa Shemaiah, anih ih capa Jonathan, anih ih capa Zekariah,

And of the sons of priests' with trumpets, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shema'yah, the son of Matthanyah, the son of Michayah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Assaph;

36 anih ih nawkamyanawk Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, Hanani cae mah, Sithaw kami David ih katoeng tamoinawk to sin o; ca tarikkung Ezra loe nihcae hmaa ah caeh.

And his brethren, Shema'yah, and 'Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma'ai, Nethanel, and Judah, Chanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and 'Ezra the expounder walked before them.

37 Nihcae taengah kaom tuipuek khongkha ah phak o naah, tapang nuiah dawh o, David vangpui dawhaih thlak hoiah a dawh o, David ih im ranui ah dawh o moe, ni angyae bang ih tuipuek khongkha khoek to a caeh o.

And over the fountain-gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.

38 Kalah laasah abu maeto mah bangqoi bang hoiah takui o, kai loe nihcae hnukah ka bang, kami ahap tapang nuiah caeh o moe, hmaitikhaih imsang hoiah ahmuen kakawk tapang to a poeng o.

And the other company for thanksgiving that walked in the opposite direction to them, —this one did I follow, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the ovens even as far as the broad wall;

39 Nihcae loe Ephraim khongkha, khongkha kangquem, tanga khongkha, Hananel imsang, Meah imsang, tuu khongkha karoek to a caeh o moe, thongim khongkha hmaa ah angdoet o.

And above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish-gate, and the tower of Chananel, and the tower of Meah, even as far as the sheep-gate; and they halted at the prison-gate.

40 Anghoehaih laasah abu hnettonawk loe Sithaw im ah angdoet o, ahap ukkungnawk loe kai hoi nawnto oh o;

So did the two companies for thanksgiving place themselves in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me.

41 qaimanawk, mongkah ueng Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Mikaiah, Elionai, Zekariah hoi Hananiah,

And the priests, Elyakim, Ma'asseyah, Minyamin, Michayah, Elyo'enai, Zechariah, and Chananiah, with trumpets;

42 Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malkijah, Elam hoi Ezer cae doeh oh o. Laasah kaminawk loe laasah zaehoikung Jezrahiah hoi nawnto laasak o.

And Ma'asseyah, and Shema'yah, and El'azar, and 'Uzzi, and Jehochanan, and Malkiyah, and 'Elam, and 'Ezer. And the singers sang aloud, with Yisrachyah as their overseer.

43 To na niah angbawnhaih to sak o moe, paroeai anghoe o; Sithaw mah nihcae han kalen parai anghoehaih to paek pongah, a zunawk hoi acaanawk loe paroeai anghoe o: to tiah Jerusalem vangpui anghoehaih lok loe ahmuen kangthla hoiah doeh angthaih.

And they sacrificed on that day great sacrifices, and rejoiced; for God had caused them to rejoice with great joy; and also the women and the children rejoiced: so that the [shout of] joy of Jerusalem was heard even at a great distance off.

44 Qaimanawk hoi Levinawk mah Sithaw tok to sak o pongah, Judahnawk loe paroeai anghoe o; avang kruek hoiah tangqumnawk to im ah a sin o, Mosi ih kaalok mah thuih ih baktih toengah, lawk ih kathai tangsuek thingthainawk, hato thungah maeto loe qaimanawk hoi Levinawk hanah a paek o; to ih hmuenmaenawk toep hanah kaminawk to suek o.

And there were appointed at that day certain men as superintendents over the chambers for the treasuries, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions according to the law for the priests and the Levites; for Judah had joy on the priests and on the Levites that stood there,

And kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and as singers and gatekeepers, according to the command of David, [and] of Solomon his son.

46 David hoi Asaph dung nathuem hoiah, laasah zaehoikung, saphawhaih laa hoi Sithaw khae anghoe lawkthuihaih to oh boeh.

For in the days of David and Assaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.

47 Zerubabel hoi Nehemiah dung naah doeh, Israel kaminawk mah laasah kaminawk hoi khongkha toep kaminawk hanah, ni thokkruek, angmacae taham caaknaek to paek o; Levinawk hanah doeh paek han koi hmuennawk to kaciim ah pahoe pae o moe, Levinawk mah doeh Aaron caanawk hanah pahoe pae o patoeng.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeeper, what was required for every day on its day; and they sanctified things for the Levites: and the Levites sanctified [the portion due] for the children of Aaron.
