1 Kai loe khosak bing boeh! Kai loe nipui tue ah pakhrik ih thingthai baktih, misurtui takha thung ih misurthaih kanghmat baktiah ni ka oh boeh; caak han misurthaih om ai, ka caak han koeh ih athai tangsuek thingthai doeh om ai.
Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; my soul desireth the firstripe fig.
2 Kahoih kaminawk loe long nui hoi anghmat o boih boeh; kaminawk thungah katoeng kami maeto doeh om ai boeh: kaminawk boih athii palong hanah kami to angang o; kami maeto boih mah angmah ih nawkamya to palok hoiah amee o.
The godly man is perished out of the earth, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3 Ban loe kahoih ai hmuen sak han kop, ukkungnawk loe tangqum to hnik o, lokcaekkungnawk doeh bokhaih phoisa to caak o; kalen kaminawk loe koeh ih hmuen to hnik o, nihcae loe to tiah nawnto toksak o.
Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge [is ready] for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the mischief of his soul: thus they weave it together.
4 Nihcae thung ih kahoih koek kami loe soekhring hoiah anghmong; katoeng koek kami mataeng doeh takha pakaahaih soekhring pongah noet kue; nang toepkungnawk ih ani hoi na paqaihhaih ani loe angzoh boeh; vaihi loe nihcae han anghmang thok atue ah oh.
The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is [worse] than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen, even thy visitation, is come; now shall be their perplexity.
5 Ampui to oep hmah, loklam patuek kami khaeah amha hmah; na saoek ah amha nongpata khaeah thuih ih lok to angsum ah.
Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
6 Capa mah ampa to saiqat ai, canu mah amno to misa ah suek, langah mah amni to misa ah suek; misa kaom kami loe angmah imthung takoh kaminawk to ni.
For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7 To pongah Angraeng to ka khet han, kai pahlonghaih Sithaw to ka zing han; ka Sithaw mah na tahngai pae tih.
But as for me, I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Ka misa nang, ka nuiah anghoe hmah; kai loe amtimh cadoeh, kang thawk let han; vinghaih thungah ka oh cadoeh, Angraeng loe kai aanghaih ah om tih.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
9 A nuiah ka zae boeh pongah, anih mah kai kawng to thuih moe, kai han lok takroekhaih sah ai karoek to, Angraeng palungphuihaih to ka pauep han: Anih mah aanghaih thungah na caehhaih ueloe, a toenghaih to ka hnu tih.
I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him; until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, [and] I shall behold his righteousness.
10 To pacoengah kai khaeah, Na Angraeng Sithaw loe naa ah maw oh? tiah kathui ka misa mah hnu tih, to naah anih loe azathaih mah muek tih, ka mik mah anih to hnu tih; anih loe vaihi loklam ih tangkrok baktiah khok hoiah cawh tih boeh.
Then mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her; which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? Mine eyes shall behold her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
11 Nang ih sipae sakhaih ani to angzo tih, to na niah loe na prae to kawk tih boeh.
A day for building thy walls! in that day shall the decree be far removed.
12 To na niah loe Assyria, kacak Izip vangpuinawk, kacak Izip vangpui hoi tuipui karoek to, tuipui maeto hoi maeto khoek to, mae hae bang hoi ho bangah kaom kaminawk to nang khaeah angzo o tih.
In that day shall they come unto thee, from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea, and [from] mountain to mountain.
13 To tiah om cadoeh, a sak o ih athaih baktih toengah, a thungah kaom kaminawk pongah prae to pahnawt sut tih boeh.
Yet shall the land be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14 Taw ah kaom, Karmel mae ih qawk ah na toep ih tuunawk hoi nangmah ih kaminawk to nangmah ih cunghet hoiah toep ah; canghnii ah sak ih baktih toengah, nihcae to pacah hanah Bashan hoi Gilead ah caeh haih ah.
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15 Izip prae thung hoi nang zoh o nathuem ih baktih toengah, nihcae han dawnrai hmuennawk to ka patuek han.
As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvelous things.
16 Prae kaminawk mah hnuk o naah dawnrai o ueloe, angmacae ih misatuh kaminawk to azat o haih tih; nihcae mah pakha to ban hoi tamuep o tih, lok apae o thai mak ai.
The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17 Nihcae loe long ah kavak sadong baktiah akhaw thung hoiah tacawt o ueloe, pahui baktiah long to palaek o tih: nang to zii o ueloe, kaicae ih Angraeng Sithaw doeh zii o tih.
They shall lick the dust like a serpent; like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their close places: they shall come with fear unto the LORD our God, and shall be afraid because of thee.
18 Anih mah palungnathaih amtuengsak han koeh pongah, palungphui poe ai, zaehaih to tahmen moe, kanghmat angmah ih qawktoep kaminawk sapazaehaih tahmen nang baktih Sithaw mi maw kaom?
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
19 Anih loe kaicae nuiah amlunghaih tawn let ueloe, kaicae zaehaihnawk to anih mah payawk tih: kaicae zaehaihnawk to kathuk tuipui thungah na va pae tih.
He will turn again and have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot: and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20 Canghnii ah kam panawk khaeah lok na kam ih baktih toengah, Jakob khaeah loktang to nam tuengsak ueloe, Abraham khaeah palungnathaih na tawn poe tih.
Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, [and] the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
