The Lineage Roll of Jesus Christ, —Son of David, Son of Abraham.
2 Abraham mah Isak to sak; Isak mah Jakob to sak; Jakob mah Judah hoi nawkamyanawk to sak;
Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob, begat Judah and his brethren;
3 Judah mah Tamar khae hoiah Perez hoi Zerah to sak; Perez mah Hezron to sak; Hezron mah Ram to sak.
And Judah begat Perez and Zarah of Tamah, and Perez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram;
4 Ram mah Aminadab to sak; Aminadab mah Nashon to sak; Nashon mah Salmon to sak.
And Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nashon, and Nashon begat Salmon;
5 Salmon mah Rahab khae hoiah Boaz to sak; Boaz mah Ruth khae hoiah Obed to sak; Obed mah Jesse to sak.
And Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse;
6 Jesse mah David siangpahrang to sak; David siangpahrang mah Uriah ih zu khae hoiah Solomon to sak.
And Jesse begat David the King. And David begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Uriah;
7 Solomon mah Rehoboam to sak; Rehoboam mah Abijah to sak; Abijah mah Asa to sak.
And Solomon begat Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begat Abijah, and Abijah begat Asa;
8 Asa mah Jehoshaphat to sak; Jehoshaphat mah Jehoram to sak; Jehoram mah Uzziah to sak;
And Asa begat Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Uzziah;
9 Uzziah mah Jotham to sak; Jotham mah Ahaz to sak; Ahaz mah Hezekiah to sak;
And Uzziah begat Jotham, and Jotham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekiah:
10 Hezekiah mah Manasseh to sak; Manasseh mah Amon to sak; Amon mah Josiah to sak;
And Hezekiah begat Manasseh, and Manasseh begat Amon, and Amon begat Josiah;
11 Babylon ah misong ah hoih o nathuem ah, Josiah mah Jekoniah hoi anih ih nawkamyanawk to sak:
And Josiah begat Jechoniah, and his brethren, —upon the removal to Babylon.
12 Babylon ah misong ah hoih o pacoengah Jekoniah mah Shealtiel to sak; Shealtiel mah Zerubbabel to sak;
And, after the removal to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
13 Zerubbabel mah Abiud to sak; Abiud mah Eliakim to sak; Eliakim mah Azor to sak;
And Zerubbabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 Azor mah Zadok to sak; Zadok mah Akim to sak; Akim mah Eliud to sak;
And Azor begat Sadoc, and Sadoc begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud;
15 Eliud mah Eleazar to sak; Eliazar mah Matthan to sak; Matthan mah Jakob to sak;
And Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob; —
16 Jakob mah Meri sava Joseph to sak; Meri mah Kri, tiah kawk ih, Jesu to tapen.
And Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, —who is called Christ.
17 Abraham hoi David karoek to dung hatlai palito oh moe, David hoi Babylon ah misongah hoih o karoek to, dung hatlai palito oh; Babylon misong ah laemh o haih hoi kamtong Kri karoek to dung hatlai palito oh.
So then, all the generations from Abraham unto David, are, fourteen, generations, and, from David unto the removal to Babylon, fourteen, generations; and, from the removal to Babylon unto the Christ, fourteen, generations.
18 Jesu Kri tapenhaih loe hae tiah oh: Anih ih amno Meri loe Joseph mah zu ah hamh, nihnik zu sava ah om hoi ai naah, Meri loe Kacai Muithla ih caa to pomh boeh.
Now the birth, of [Jesus] Christ, was, thus: His mother Mary having been betrothed to Joseph, —before they came together, she was found with child by [the] Holy Spirit.
19 A sava Joseph loe katoeng kami ah oh, to pongah minawk panoeksak han koeh ai, a zu to tamquta hoi pahnawt sut hanah a poek.
Moreover, Joseph her husband, being, righteous, and yet unwilling to expose her, —intended, privately, to divorce her.
20 To tiah a poek li naah, khenah, Angraeng ih van kami mah amang ah anih khaeah amtueng thuih, David capa Joseph, na zu Meri to zu ah lak han zii hmah: anih loe Kacai Muithla rang hoiah ni zokpomh.
But, when, these things, he had pondered, lo! a messenger of the Lord, by dream, appeared to him, saying, —Joseph, son of David! do not fear to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for, that which, in her, hath been begotten, is of [the], Holy, Spirit.

Moreover she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, —for, he, will save his people from their sins.
22 Tahmaa patohhaih rang hoiah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok akoep hanah hae hmuen hae sak ah oh,
But, all this, hath come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord, through the prophet, saying:
23 khenah, kacuem tangla loe zokpom tih, capa maeto sah ueloe, anih ih ahmin to Emmanuel, tiah kawk o tih; thuih koehhaih loe Sithaw aicae hoi nawnto oh, tih haih ih ni.
Lo! a Virgin, shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, —and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is, being translated, God with us.
24 Joseph iih anglawt pacoengah loe, Angraeng ih van kami mah thuih pae ih lok baktih toengah Meri to zu ah lak,
And Joseph, awaking, from his sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him, —and took unto him his wife;
25 a zu mah Calu nongpa tapen ai karoek to a zu to iip haih ai. Anih ih ahmin to JESU, tiah a sak.
and knew her not, until she had brought forth a son, —and he called his name Jesus.
