< Mathai 21 >

1 Jerusalem phak tom boeh moe, Olive mae Berthphage vangpui to phak o naah, Jesu mah a hnukbang kami long hnetto patoeh,
And, when they drew near unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the Mount of Olives, then, Jesus sent forth two disciples;
2 nihnik khaeah, Na hma ah kaom avang ah caeh hoih, paeh ih laa hrang acaa hoi amno to na hnu hoi roep tih: khram hoih loe kai khaeah hoi hoiah,
saying unto them—Be going into the village that is over against you, and, straightway, ye shall find an ass, bound, and a colt with her, —loose them, and lead them unto me.
3 mi kawbaktih mah doeh lok na dueng hoi nahaeloe, Angraeng mah angtoeng; na thak let tih hmang, tiah thui pae hoih, tiah a naa.
And, if anyone, unto you, say aught, ye shall say—Their Lord, hath, need, —and, straightway, he will send them.
4 Hae hmuennawk boih loe Tahmaa mah, Khenah, tuinom kaom, nangcae ih siangpahrang loe laa hrang nuiah angthueng ueloe, laa hrang acaa angthueng hoiah nangcae khaeah angzo tih, tiah Zion canu khaeah thui paeh, tiah thuih ih lok akoep han ih ni oh.
But, this, hath come to pass, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through the prophet, saying:
5
Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Lo! thy King, is coming unto thee, meek and mounted upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of a toiling ass.
6 A hnukbang hnik loe caeh hoi moe, Jesu mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah a sak hoi.
And the disciples, went, and did as Jesus directed them;
7 Nihnik mah laa hrang amno hoi a caa to zaeh hoi moe, a nuiah kahni baih pae hoi, anih to a nuiah anghnut o sak.
and led the ass and the colt, and laid upon them their garments, and he took his seat upon them.
8 Pop parai kaminawk mah angmacae ih kahni to loklam ah baih o; thoemto kaminawk mah loe thing tanghang to pakhruk o moe, loklam ah baih o.
And, the chief multitude, spread their own mantles in the way, and, others, were cutting off young branches from the trees, and spreading them in the way;
9 A hmabang caeh kami hoi a hnuk bangah angzo pop parai kaminawk mah David Capa khaeah, Hosanna: Angraeng ih ahmin hoi angzo kami loe tahamhoih nasoe; kasang koek Hosanna, tiah hangh o.
and the multitudes, they who were going before him and they who were following after, were crying aloud, saying—Hosanna! to the Son of David, Blessed is he that is coming in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
10 Anih Jerusalem vangpui thungah akun naah, vangpui boih angthawk o moe, hae kami loe mi aa? tiah thuih o.
And, when he entered into Jerusalem, all the city was startled, saying—Who is this?
11 Paroeai kaminawk mah, hae kami loe Kalili prae Nazareth vangpui ih tahmaa Jesu ni, tiah a naa o.
And, the multitudes, were saying—This, is the prophet Jesus, —He from Nazareth of Galilee.
12 Jesu loe tempul thungah caeh moe, hmuenmae zaw kami hoi qan kaminawk to a haek, phoisa atlaeng kaminawk ih caboi to palet pae moe, pahuu zaw kaminawk ih anghnuthaih hmuennawk doeh palet pae king.
And Jesus entered into the temple, and cast out all who were selling and buying in the temple, —and, the tables of the money-changers, he overthrew, and the seats of them who were selling doves;
13 Nihcae khaeah, Kai ih im loe lawkthuihaih im tiah kawk o tih, tiah tarik ih oh; toe nangcae mah loe kamqunawk ohhaih ahmuen ah na sak o lat, tiah a naa.
and saith unto them—It is written, My house, a house of prayer, shall be called; but, ye, are making it, A den of robbers!
14 Mikmaeng hoi khokkhaemnawk loe tempul thungah anih khaeah angzoh o moe, anih mah nihcae to ngantuisak.
And there came unto him blind and lame, in the temple, and he cured them.
15 Anih mah sak ih dawnrai hmuen to hnuk o moe, nawktanawk mah tempul thungah, David Capa khaeah, Hosanna, tiah hang o ih lok to kalen koek qaima hoi ca tarik kaminawk mah thaih o naah, palungphui o;
But the Chief-priests and the Scribes, seeing, the marvels that he wrought, and the boys who were crying aloud in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David! were greatly displeased;
16 anih khaeah, Hae kaminawk mah thuih o ih lok na thaih maw? tiah a naa o. Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Ue: nawktanawk hoi tahnu nae li nawktanawk ih pakha thung hoiah nang to saphaw o tih, tiah tarik ih ca to na kroek o vai ai maw? tiah a naa.
and said unto him—Hearest thou what these are saying? And, Jesus, saith unto them—Yea: Have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, hast thou prepared praise?
17 Anih mah nihcae to caehtaak ving, Bethany avang ah a caeh moe, to ah anghak.
And, leaving them behind, he went forth outside the city into Bethany, and spent the night there.
18 Anih khawnbang khawnthaw vangpui ah amlaem naah, zok amtlam.
And, early, returning into the city, he hungered;
19 Loklam taengah kaom thaiduetkung to a hnuk naah a taengah a caeh, aqam khue ai ah loe tidoeh hnu ai; to naah thaiduetkung khaeah, Vaihi hoi kamtong natuek naah doeh athaih athai hmah lai ah, tiah a naa. Thaiduetkung loe akra ai ah azaem roep. (aiōn g165)
and, seeing one fig-tree by the way, he came up to it, and nothing, found he thereon, save leaves only, —and he saith unto it—No more, from thee, let fruit spring forth, unto times age-abiding, —and the fig-tree, instantly withered away. (aiōn g165)
20 A hnukbang kaminawk mah hnuk o naah dawnrai o, kawbangmaw thaiduetkung loe azaem roep halat! tiah a thuih o.
And the disciples, seeing it, marvelled, saying—How instantly, did the fig-tree wither away.
21 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Loktang kang thuih o, palung haenghaih tawn ai ah, tanghaih na tawnh o nahaeloe, hae thaiduetkung khaeah sak ih hmuen khue ai, hae mae khaeah doeh angthui ah loe, tuipui thungah krah ah, tiah na naa o nahaeloe, angthui tih.
And Jesus, answering, said unto them—Verily, I say unto you, If ye have faith, and do not doubt, not only, this of the fig-tree, shall ye do, —but, even if, unto this mountain, ye shall say, Be lifted up, and be cast into the sea, it shall be done.
22 Tanghaih hoiah lawkthuih moe, hnik ih hmuen to na hnu o boih tih.
And, all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 Anih loe tempul thungah angzoh, anih mah kaminawk patuk nathuem ah qaima hoi kacoehtanawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, naa ih sakthaihaih akaa hoiah maw hae baktih hmuennawk hae na sak? Mi mah maw hae baktih sakthaihaih ang paek? tiah a dueng o.
And, when he, entered, the temple, the Chief-priests and the Elders of the people, came unto him as he was teaching, saying, By what authority, these things, art thou doing? and, who, to thee, gave, this authority?
24 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Kai mah doeh lok maeto kang dueng o toeng han, nang pathim o nahaeloe, naa ih sakthaihaih akaa hoiah maw hae baktih hmuennawk hae ka sak, tito kang thuih o han.
And, making answer, Jesus said unto them—I also, will ask, you, one thing, —which if ye tell me, I also, will tell, you, by what authority, these things, I am doing: —
25 Johan tuinuemhaih loe naa hoiah maw angzoh? Van bang ih maw, to tih ai boeh loe kaminawk khae hoi ih? tiah a naa. To naah angmacae hoi angmacae to lok angdueng o, Van bang ih tiah a thuih o nahaeloe, tikhoe na tang o ai loe? tiah na naa tih,
The immersion by John, whence was it? Of heaven, or of men? But, they, began to deliberate among themselves, saying—If we say, Of heaven; He will say unto us, Wherefore then did ye not believe him?
26 kaminawk khae hoi ih ni, tiah a thuih o nahaeloe, kaminawk boih mah Johan loe tahmaa ni, tiah poek o pongah, kaminawk to zit han oh koek, tiah a thuih o.
But, if we say, Of men, we fear the multitude, for, all, as a prophet, are holding John.
27 To pongah nihcae mah Jesu khaeah, Ka panoek o ai, tiah pathim pae o. Jesu mah, to tiah nahaeloe naa ih sakthaihaih akaa hoiah maw hae baktih hmuennawk hae ka sak, tito kang thui o mak ai, tiah a naa.
And, making answer to Jesus, they said—We know not. He also, said unto them—Neither do, I, tell, you, by what authority, these things, I am doing.
28 Nangcae loe kawbangah maw na poek o? Kami maeto mah capa hnetto tawnh; anih loe capa kacoeh khaeah caeh moe, Ka capa, vaihniah kai ih misur takha thungah caeh ah loe, toksah ah, tiah a naa.
But how, to you, doth it seem? A man, had two sons: coming unto the first, he said, Son! go thy way, to-day, be working in the vineyard.
29 Anih mah ka caeh mak ai, tiah pathim; toe nawnetta oh pacoengah dawnpakhuem moe, a caeh let.
And, he, answering, said, I, sir! and went not;
30 To pacoengah hnetto haih capa khaeah caeh moe, to tiah a thuih pae let. Anih mah, Ka caeh han hmang, angraeng, tiah a naa; toe caeh ai.
And, coming unto the second, he spake, in like manner, —and, he, answering, said, I will not: afterwards, smitten with regret, he went.
31 Nihnik thungah ampa koehhaih sah kami loe mi maw? tiah a naa. Nihcae mah anih khaeah, hmaloe ih kami, tiah pathim pae o. Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Loktang kang thuih o, tamut cong kami hoi tangzat zaw kaminawk mah Sithaw prae ah na caeh o taak tih.
Which of the two, did the will of the father? They say, The latter. Jesus saith unto them—Verily, I say unto you, the tax-collectors and the harlots, are going before you, into the kingdom of God;
32 Nangcae loklam katoeng hnuksak hanah Johan nangcae khaeah ang zoh, toe anih to na tang o ai: tamut cong kami hoi tangzat zaw kami mah loe tang o: to tiah kaom hmuen to na hnuk o, toe anih tang hanah, dawnpakhuemhaih na tawn o ai.
For John came unto you, in a way of righteousness, and ye believed him not, —but, the tax-collectors and the harlots, believed him; and, ye, seeing it, were not even smitten with regret, afterwards, so as to believe him.
33 Patahhaih lok kalah tahngai o let bae ah: takha tawnkung maeto oh, anih mah misurkung to thling, takha to pakaa takui boih pacoengah, misurtui pasawhhaih long to takaeh moe, toephaih im to a sak, takha thungah toksak hanah toksah kami to pacae pacoengah, angmah to loe kholong kangtla ah a caeh.
Another parable, hear ye: —A man there was, a householder, who planted a vineyard, and, a wall around it, placed, and digged in it a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, —and left home.
34 Misurthaih pakhrikhaih atue phak naah loe, misurthaih pakhrik hanah, takha toepkung khaeah a tamnanawk to patoeh.
And, when the season of fruits drew near, He sent forth his servants unto the husbandmen to receive his fruits.
35 Takha thung toksah kaminawk mah anih ih tamnanawk to naeh o moe, tamna maeto loe boh o, kalah maeto loe hum o, kalah maeto doeh thlung hoiah vah o.
And the husbandmen, taking his servants, one, indeed, they beat, and, another, slew, —and, another, stoned.
36 Takha tawnkung mah hmaloe ih tamna pong kapop ah tamnanawk to patoeh let: toe takha thungah toksah kaminawk mah nihcae to patoeh hmaloe ih tamnanawk baktih toengah sak o let.
Again, sent he forth other servants, more than the first, and they did unto them, likewise.
37 Toe ka capa loe nihcae mah saiqat o tih hmang, tiah a poek pongah, a capa to hnukkhuem koek ah patoeh.
Afterwards, however, he sent forth unto them his son, saying, —They will pay deference unto my son!
38 Toe takha toep kaminawk mah a capa to hnuk o naah, Hae kami loe qawktoep kami ni; angzo oh, anih hae hum si loe, anih ih qawk to lomh pae o si, tiah a thuih o.
But, the husbandmen, seeing the son, said among themselves, —This, is, the heir: Come on! Let us slay him, and have his inheritance.
39 Anih to a naeh o, takha thung hoiah vah o moe, hum o.
And, taking him, they cast him forth outside the vineyard, —and slew him.
40 To pongah misur takha tawnkung angzoh naah loe, takha thungah toksah kaminawk to kawbangmaw sah tih? tiah a naa.
When therefore the master of the vineyard shall come, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 Nihcae mah anih khaeah, Kahoih ai kaminawk to khet kamcuk ai ah amrosak ueloe, misur athaihaih atue phak naah angmah han athaih kapaek thaih kalah kami hanah misur takha to tlaisak tih, tiah a naa o.
They say unto him—Miserable men! Miserably, will he destroy them; and will let out, the vineyard, to other husbandmen, who will render unto him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Im sah kaminawk mah pahnawt o sut ih thlung loe, kacak koek im takii ih thlung ah oh boeh: hae loe Angraeng mah sak ih hmuen ah oh, aicae mikhnuk ah loe dawnrai hmuen ah oh, tiah kaom lok to Cabu thungah na kroek o vai ai maw?
Jesus saith unto them—Have ye, never, read in the Scriptures, A stone which the builders rejected, the same, hath become, head of the corner: From the Lord, hath this come to pass, and is marvellous in our eyes.
43 To pongah kang thuih o, Nangcae khae hoi ih Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae to la ving ueloe, athaih athai han koi acaeng khaeah paek tih.
Wherefore I say unto you, The kingdom of God, will be taken away from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof:
44 Mi kawbaktih doeh hae thlung nuiah amtimh kami loe koi phaeng tih: thlung mah taeh ih kaminawk doeh adip pueng tih, tiah a naa.
[And, he that falleth on this stone, will be sorely bruised; but, on whomsoever it may fall, it will utterly destroy him.]
45 Anih mah thuih ih patahhaih lok to qaima hoi Farasinawk mah thaih o naah, nihcae thuih koehhaih ih ni, tito panoek o.
And the Chief-priests and the Pharisees, hearing his parables, took note, that, concerning them, he was speaking.
46 To pongah nihcae mah anih naeh thaihaih loklam to pakrong o, toe kaminawk mah anih loe tahmaa maeto ni, tiah poek o pongah, nihcae mah pop parai kaminawk to zit o.
And, seeking to secure him, they feared the multitudes; since, for a prophet, were they holding him.
