< Mathai 20 >
1 Van prae loe khawnthaw ah angmah ih takha thungah kacaeh, toksak han kami pakrong, takha tawn kami maeto hoiah anghmong.
For the Administration of Heaven will resemble the conduct of a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
2 Anih mah toksah kami to nito naah denari phoisa maeto paek hanah palung adue pacoengah, nihcae to angmah ih misur takha thungah patoeh.
Having agreed with some for a denarius a-day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 Anih loe atue thumto phak naah tasa bangah caeh, to naah hmuenmae zawhhaih ahmuen ah angdoe rumram kalah kaminawk to a hnuk.
About the third hour he went out, and seeing others unemployed in the market place,
4 Nihcae khaeah, Nangcae doeh misur takha thungah caeh o toeng ah, kating tawk atho kang paek o han hmang, tiah a naa. To naah nihcae loe caeh o.
said to them, Go you likewise into my vineyard, and I will give you what is reasonable. Accordingly they went.
5 Atue tarukto hoi takawtto naah a caeh let moe, to tiah a thuih pae let.
Again, about the sixth hour, and about the ninth, he went out and did the same.
6 Atue hatlaito phak naah tasa bangah a caeh let, to naah angdoe rumram kalah kaminawk to a hnuk, nihcae khaeah, Tipongah athun qui tidoeh sah ai ah haeah nang doet o sut loe? tiah a naa.
Lastly, about the eleventh hour, he went out, and finding others standing, said to them, Why do you stand here all the day doing nothing?
7 Nihcae mah anih khaeah, kaicae loe mi mah doeh pacae ai, tiah a naa o. Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae doeh misur takha thungah caeh o toeng ah; kating tawk atho na hnu o tih hmang, tiah a naa.
They answered, Because no person has hired us. He said to them, Go you also into my vineyard, and you shall receive what is reasonable.
8 Duembang phak naah loe, misur takha tawnkung mah phoisa pakuem kami khaeah, toksah kaminawk to kawk ah, hnukkhuem angzo kami hoi amtong ah loe, hmaloe angzo kami khoek to toksakhaih atho to paek ah, tiah a naa.
When it was night, the proprietor of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers, and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, and ending with the first.
9 Atue hatlaito nathuem ah toksak han pacae ih kaminawk to angzoh o, nihcae loe denari phoisa maeto hnuk o boih.
Then they who had been hired at the eleventh hour came, and received each a denarius.
When the first came, they imagined they should receive more; but they got only a denarius a-piece.
11 Phoisa a hnuk o pacoengah loe, kahoih im tawnkung to laisaep o thuih,
Upon receiving it, they murmured against the householder,
12 hnukkhuem ah angzo kaminawk loe atue maeto thung khue ni toksak o, toe nihcae to athun qui ni kana thungah toksah kaicae hoi kangvan ah na suek, tiah a naa o.
saying, These last have worked but one hour; yet you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13 Toe anih mah nihcae thung ih kami maeto khaeah, Ampui, na nuiah hmuen sak pazaehaih ka tawn ai: denari phoisa maeto paek han ih na ai maw palung duehaih a sak hoi?
He answering, said to one of them, Friend, I do you no injury. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
14 Nang mah ih hmuen to la ah loe, caeh lai ah: nang han kang paek ih baktih toengah ni hae ih hnukkhuem kaminawk khaeah doeh ka paek han.
Take what is yours, and depart. It is my will to give to this last as much as to you.
15 Ka tawnh ih hmuen nuiah koeh baktiah sak thaihaih ka tawn mak ai maw? Ka hoih pongah uthaih mik na tawnh maw?
And may not I do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?
16 To pongah hnukkhuem kaminawk to hmahman o ueloe, hmahman kaminawk to hnukkhuem o tih: kawk ih kami loe pop parai, toe qoih ih kami loe tamsi, tiah pathim pae.
Thus the last shall be first, and first last; for there are many called, but few chosen.

When Jesus was on the road to Jerusalem, he took the twelve aside, and said to them,

22 Toe Jesu mah, Nang hnik ih hmuen to na panoek ai. Ka naek han koi boengloeng hae na nae hoi thai tih maw, ka tuinuemhaih hae na nuem hoi thai tih maw? tiah a naa. Nihnik mah, Ue, ka sah hoi thai tih, tiah a naa hoi.
Jesus replying, said, You know not what you ask. Can you drink such a cup as I must drink? They said to him, We can.
23 Jesu mah nihnik khaeah, Kai ih boengloeg hae na nae hoi thaih ueloe, kai tuinuemhaih doeh na nuem hoi thaih tangtang tih: toe ka bantang bang hoi banqoi bangah anghnut han ih loe, ka paek han koi hmuen na ai ni, kam Pa mah pahoe tangcae kaminawk hanah ni paek tih, tiah a naa.
He answered, You shall indeed drink such a cup. But to sit on my right hand, and at my left, I can not give, unless to those for whom it is prepared by my Father.
24 To lok to kami hatonawk mah thaih o naah, nihnik amnawk nuiah palungphui o.
The then, hearing this, were full of indignation against the two brothers;

but Jesus, calling them to him, said, You know that the Princes of the nations domineer over them, and the great exercise their authority upon them.
26 Toe nangcae thungah loe to tiah oh han om ai: mi kawbaktih doeh nangcae thungah kalen koek ah kaom han koi kami loe nangcae ih toksahkung ah om nasoe;
It must not be so amongst you: on the contrary, whosoever would become great amongst you, let him be your servant;
27 mi kawbaktih doeh nangcae thungah kalen koek ah kaom han koi kami loe, nangcae ih tamna ah om nasoe:
and whosoever would be chief amongst you, let him be your slave:
28 kami Capa loe minawk toksaksak hanah angzo ai, minawk ih tok to sak moe, pop parai kaminawk akrang pacoengah, a hinghaih paek han ih ni angzoh, tiah a naa.
even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

two blind men, who sat by the way-side, hearing that Jesus passed by cried, saying, Master, Son of David, have pity on us.
31 Paroeai kaminawk mah oh hoi duem hanah nihnik to zoeh o: toe nihnik loe, Aw Angraeng, David capa, kaihnik nuiah palungnathaih tawn raeh, tiah kanung aep ah hang hoi.
The multitude charged them to be silent: but they cried the louder, saying, Master, Son of David, have pity on us.
32 To naah Jesu loe angdoet moe, nihnik to kawk, timaw saksak han na koeh hoi, tiah a naa.
Then Jesus stopping, called them, and said, What do you want me to do for you?
33 To naah nihnik mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, mik amtueng han ka koeh hoi, tiah a naa hoi.
They answered, Sir, to make us see.

Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. Immediately they received sight, and followed him.
