< Marka 10 >

1 To ahmuen to a caehtaak moe, Jordan vapui yaeh Judea prae ah caeh: to naah anih khaeah paroeai kaminawk angzoh o let; a sakzong ih baktih toengah kaminawk to patuk let bae.
Then Jesus left that place and went into the region of Judea, beyond the Jordan. Again the crowds came to Him and He taught them, as was His custom.
2 Farasinawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, Kami maeto mah a zu pakhrak han daan oh maw? tiah anih tanoekhaih lok a dueng o.
Some Pharisees came to test Him. “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” they inquired.
3 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Mosi mah tih lok maw ang paek o? tiah pathim pae.
“What did Moses command you?” He replied.
4 Nihcae mah, Mosi mah loe kami maeto mah zu pakhrak hanah, zu pakhrakhaih ca to tariksak, tiah a naa o.
They answered, “Moses permitted a man to write his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
5 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Palung na thah o pongah ni anih mah hae baktih poekhaih hae ang tarik pae o.
But Jesus told them, “Moses wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart.
6 Toe tangsuek naah Sithaw mah, nongpa hoi nongpata to sak.
However, from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’
7 Hae pongah nongpa mah amno hoi ampa to caehtaak ueloe, a zu hoiah om tih.
‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8 To naah nihnik loe takpum maeto ah om hoi tih: to pacoengah nihnik loe kami hnetto ah om hoi ai boeh, taksa maeto ah ni oh hoih boeh.
and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 To pongah Sithaw mah nawnto patomh boeh loe, mi mah doeh tapraek hmah nasoe.
Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
10 Imthung ah oh o naah, a hnukbang kaminawk mah hae kawng pongah anih khaeah lokdueng o let.
When they were back inside the house, the disciples asked Jesus about this matter.
11 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Mi kawbaktih doeh a zu to pakhrah moe, kalah zu to la nahaeloe, a zu laep ah daan ai ah zaehaih sah kami ah oh.
So He told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
12 Nongpata mah a sava to pakrah moe, kalah nongpa to la nahaeloe, a sava laep ah daan ai ah zaehaih sah kami ah oh, tiah a naa.
And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”
13 Anih suisak hanah, nawktanawk anih khaeah angzoh o haih: a hnukbang kaminawk mah nawkta hoi kaminawk to zoeh o.
Now people were bringing the little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, and the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Toe to tiah sak o ih hmuen to Jesu mah hnuk naah, palung hoih ai pongah nihcae khaeah, Nawktanawk to kai khaeah angzo o haih ah, haek o hmah: Sithaw ukhaih prae loe to baktih kaminawk han ih ni oh.
But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
15 Loktang kang thuih o, Mi kawbaktih doeh Sithaw ukhaih prae to nawktanawk baktiah talawk ai kami loe, a thungah akun thai mak ai, tiah a naa.
Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
16 Anih mah nawktanawk to ban ah tapom tahang moe, nihcae nuiah a ban to koeng pacoengah, tahamhoihhaih to paek.
And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them.
17 Anih loklam ah caeh naah, kami maeto anih khaeah cawnh hoiah angzoh moe, khokkhu cangkrawn pacoengah, anih khaeah, Patukkung kahoih, dungzan hinghaih ka hnuk hanah, timaw ka sak han? tiah lok a dueng. (aiōnios g166)
As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
18 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Tipongah kahoih, tiah nang kawk loe? Sithaw khue ai ah loe mi doeh hoih ai.
“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.
19 Daan ai ah zu sava laep ah zaehaih sah hmah, Kami hum hmah, Paqu hmah, Hnukung amsawn ah om hmah, Minawk aling hmah, Nam no hoi nam pa to saiqat ah, tiah thuih ih kaaloknawk to na panoek to loe, tiah a naa.
You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.’”
20 To kami mah anih khaeah, Patukkung, hae hmuennawk loe ka nawkta nathuem hoiah ni ka pazui boih boeh, tiah a naa.
“Teacher,” he replied, “all these I have kept from my youth.”
21 Jesu mah anih to khet, anih to palung pongah, anih khaeah, Maeto angai vop: Caeh ah, na tawnh ih hmuennawk to zaw boih ah loe, kamtang kaminawk hanah paek ah, to tiah nahaeloe van prae ah qawk na tawn tih; to pacoengah angzo ah, thinglam to apu ah loe, na bangah, tiah a naa.
Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, “There is one thing you lack: Go, sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
22 Anih mah to lok to thaih naah, anih loe hmuenmae paroeai tawn kami ah oh pongah, palungset moe, a caeh ving.
But the man was saddened by these words and went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.
23 Jesu mah a taeng ih kaminawk to khet moe, a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, angraeng kaminawk Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae thungah akun hanah kawkruk maw rai! tiah a naa.
Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”
24 A hnukbang kaminawk loe a thuih ih lok pongah paroeai dawnrai o. Toe Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Nawktanawk, long angraenghaih oep kaminawk loe Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae thungah akun hanah kawkruk maw rai! tiah pathim pae let.
And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
25 Long angraeng maeto Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae thungah akun pongah loe, kaengkuu hrang phungvang khaw thungah akun han zoi kue, tiah a naa.
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 To naah nihcae loe dawnrai o moe, to tih nahaeloe mi maw pahlong ah om thai tih? tiah a thuih o.
They were even more astonished and said to one another, “Who then can be saved?”
27 Jesu mah nihcae to khet moe, Kami hanah loe angcoeng thai ai, toe Sithaw hanah loe angcoeng thai ai hmuen tidoeh om ai: Sithaw hoiah loe hmuen boih angcoeng thaih, tiah a naa.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
28 To naah Piter mah anih khaeah, Khenah, kaicae loe, hmuennawk to ka caeh o taak boih moe, na hnukah ka bang o, tiah a naa.
Peter began to say to Him, “Look, we have left everything and followed You.”
29 Jesu mah, Loktang kang thuih o, Kai hoi tamthanglok hoih pongah, imlawk, nawkamya, tanuh, amno, ampa, a zu, a caanawk hoi lawknawk caehtaak kami loe,
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the gospel

will fail to receive a hundredfold in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, along with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 Toe hmahman kaminawk hnukkhuem o ueloe, hnukkhuem kaminawk hmahman o tih, tiah a naa.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
32 Nihcae loe Jerusalem bangah caeh o tahang; to naah Jesu loe nihcae hmaa ah caeh: a hnukbang kaminawk loe dawnrai o; anih hnukah bang o naah, nihcae loe zit o. Anih mah kami hatlai hnettonawk to kawk moe, a nuiah kaom han koi hmuen to thuih amtong pae.
As they were going up the road to Jerusalem, Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. Again Jesus took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him:
33 Khenah, aicae loe Jerusalem ah a caeh o; kami Capa to kalen koek qaima hoi ca tarik kaminawk khaeah paek o tih; nihcae mah anih to dueksak hanah lokcaek o ueloe, anih to Gentelnawk khaeah paek o tih:
“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles,
34 nihcae mah anih to pahnui o thuih ueloe, bop o tih, anih to tamtui hoiah pathoih o ueloe, anih to hum o tih: toe anih loe ni thumto naah angthawk let tih, tiah a naa.
who will mock Him and spit on Him and flog Him and kill Him. And after three days He will rise again.”
35 Zebedi ih caa hnik, Jakob hoi Johan loe, anih khaeah caeh hoi moe, Patukkung, ka koeh hoi ih hmuen nang sak pae hanah koehhaih ka tawnh hoi, tiah a thuih pae hoi.
Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus and declared, “Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 Anih mah nihnik khaeah, Tih saksak han ih maw na koeh hoi? tiah a naa.
“What do you want Me to do for you?” He inquired.
37 Nihnik mah anih khaeah, Na lensawkhaih thungah phak naah, na bantang bangah maeto, na banqoi bangah maeto anghnut hanah na paek ah, tiah a naa hoi.
They answered, “Grant that one of us may sit at Your right hand and the other at Your left in Your glory.”
38 Toe Jesu mah nihnik khaeah, Nang hnik hoi ih hmuen to na panoek hoi ai: ka naek ih boengloeng hae na nae hoi thai tih maw? Kai tuinuemhaih hae na nuem hoi thai tih maw? tiah a naa.
“You do not know what you are asking,” Jesus replied. “Can you drink the cup I will drink, or be baptized with the baptism I will undergo?”
39 Nihnik mah anih khaeah, Ka nuem hoi thai tih, tiah pathim pae hoi. Jesu mah nihnik khaeah, Ka naek ih boengloeng hae na nae hoi ueloe, kai tuinuemhaih to na nuem hoi thai tih:
“We can,” the brothers answered. “You will drink the cup that I drink,” Jesus said, “and you will be baptized with the baptism that I undergo.
40 toe ka bantang bang hoi ka banqoi bangah anghnut han ih loe ka paek han koi hmuen na ai ni; to anghnuthaih ahmuen loe paroep pae tangcae ih kaminawk hanah ni oh, tiah a naa.
But to sit at My right or left is not Mine to grant. These seats belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”
41 To lok to haatonawk mah thaih o naah, Jakob hoi Johan nuiah palung hoih o ai.
When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John.
42 Jesu mah nihcae to angmah khaeah kawk moe, nihcae khaeah, Gentel ukkungnawk loe angmacae Gentel kaminawk nuiah angraeng ah oh o, tito na panoek o; kalen kaminawk mah nihcae to koeh baktiah uk o.
So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their superiors exercise authority over them.
43 Toe nangcae salakah loe to tiah oh han om ai: mi kawbaktih doeh nangcae salakah kalen koekah oh han koeh kami loe, nangcae ih toksahkung ah om nasoe:
But it shall not be this way among you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
44 mi kawbaktih doeh kalen koekah oh han koeh kami loe, nangcae boih ih tamna ah om nasoe.
and whoever wants to be first must be the slave of all.
45 Kami Capa loe minawk toksaksak hanah angzo ai, minawk ih tok to sak pae moe, paroeai kaminawk akrang hanah a hinghaih paek han ih ni angzoh, tiah a naa.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
46 To pacoengah nihcae loe Jeriko vangpui ah angzoh o: anih loe a hnukbang kaminawk, pop parai kaminawk hoi nawnto Jeriko vangpui thung hoiah tacawt naah, Timaeus capa, Bartimaeus, tiah ahmin kaom mikmaeng loe lam taengah anghnut moe, ban patueng.
Next, they came to Jericho. And as Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho with a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road.
47 Anih mah to kami loe Nazareth vangpui ih Jesu ni, tiah thaih naah, nang David capa, Jesu, kai hae na tahmen raeh, tiah a hangh.
When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Minawk mah anih to anghngai duem hanah a zoeh o: toe anih mah, nang David capa, kai hae na tahmen raeh, tiah kanung aep ah a hangh.
Many people admonished him to be silent, but he cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesu loe angdoet moe, anih to kawk oh, tiah a naa. To naah nihcae mah mikmaeng to kawk o, anih khaeah, Poek kanawm ah om ah loe, angthawk ah; Anih mah ang kawk, tiah a naa o.
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man. “Take courage!” they said. “Get up! He is calling for you.”
50 Anih mah angmah ih kahni to vah sut moe, angthawk tahang pacoengah, Jesu khaeah caeh.
Throwing off his cloak, Bartimaeus jumped up and came to Jesus.
51 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Timaw saksak han na koeh? tiah a naa. To naah mikmaeng mah, Angraeng, mik amtueng hanah ka koeh, tiah a naa.
“What do you want Me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “Rabboni,” said the blind man, “let me see again.”
52 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Caeh lai ah; na tanghaih mah ang hoisak boeh, tiah a naa. Akra ai ah a mik to amtueng pae roep, to pacoengah loklam hoiah Jesu hnukah a bang.
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
