< Luka 16 >
1 Anih loe a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah hae tiah thuih pae let, Angraeng maeto oh, anih loe phoisa pakuem kami maeto tawnh; to phoisa pakuem kami mah angraeng ih hmuennawk to pasaengh pae king boeh, tiah thuih pae o.
And he said also to his disciples: There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and he was accused to him of wasting his goods.
2 To naah angraeng mah phoisa pakuem kami to kawk moe, Ka thaih ih na tamthang loe kawbangmaw oh? Na pakuem ih phoisa cazin to na patuek ah: nang loe kai ih phoisa pakuem kami ah na om mak ai boeh, tiah a naa.
And he called him, and said to him: What is this that I hear of you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer act as steward.
3 To naah phoisa pakuem kami mah, kawbangmaw ka oh han boeh, phoisa pakuem kami ah ka ohhaih hoiah ka angraeng mah ang pathok boeh: kai loe long ka takae thai ai, minawk khaeah hnik han ih doeh ka zat koek.
And the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes from me the stewardship. I have not strength to dig; I am ashamed to beg.
4 Phoisa pakuemhaih tok hoi pathok pacoengah, kaminawk mah angmacae im ah kai lak o thai hanah, ka sak han koi tok to ka panoek boeh, tiah a poek.
I am resolved on what I shall do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, I may be received into their houses.
5 To pongah anih mah angraeng ih laiba tawn kaminawk to angmah khaeah kawk boih moe, hmaloe koek kami khaeah, Ka angraeng ih laiba nazetto maw na tawnh? tiah a dueng.
And he called to him every one of his lord’s debtors, and said to the first, How much do you owe my lord?
6 Anih mah, Situi tahhaih boengloeng cumvaito, tiah a naa. Phoisa pakuem kami mah anih khaeah, Laiba cazin to na sin ah, karangah anghnu ah loe, quipangato ah tarik ah, tiah a naa.
He replied, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take back your note, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
7 To pacoengah kalah maeto khaeah, Nang loe nazetto maw na coi? tiah a dueng. Anih mah, Canghum noekhaih cumvaito, tiah a naa. Phoisa pakuem kami mah anih khaeah, Laiba cazin to la ah loe, cumvai tazetto ah tarik ah, tiah a naa.
Then he said to another, How much do you owe? He replied, A hundred homers of wheat. And he said to him, Take back your note, and write eighty.
8 Katoeng ai phoisa pakuem kami loe palunghahaih hoiah toksak pongah, angraeng mah anih to pakoeh: hae long nuiah kaom kaminawk loe a toksak o naah, aanghaih thung kaom kaminawk pongah doeh palungha o kue. (aiōn )
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he acted prudently. For the children of this age are more prudent toward their generation than the children of light. (aiōn )
9 Kang thuih o, Katoeng ai long nui ih hmuenmae to nangmah ih ampui ah ohsak hanah patoh oh, to tiah ni na duek o naah, hmuenmae mah dungzan ohhaih ahmuen ah na om o sak tih. (aiōnios )
And I say to you, Make for yourselves friends with the unrighteous riches, that when you fail, you may be received into the everlasting habitations. (aiōnios )
10 Hmuen zetta nuiah oepthok kami loe, hmuen zetpui nuiah doeh oepthoh: hmuen zetta nuiah oepthok ai kami loe hmuen zetpui nuiah doeh oepthok ai.
He that is faithful in the least, is faithful also in much. He that is unjust in the least, is unjust also in much.
11 To pongah long nui hmuen ah mataeng doeh oepthok ah na om ai nahaeloe, mi mah maw nang to angraeng tangtanghaih hmuen pakuemkung ah na suem tih.
If, therefore, you have not been faithful in the unrighteous riches, who will intrust you with the true?
12 Minawk ih hmuen nuiah oepthok ah na om ai nahaeloe, mi mah maw nangmah ih hmuen ah kaom han koi hmuen to na paek tih?
And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give to you that which is your own?
13 Kawbaktih tamna mah doeh angraeng hnetto ih toksak pakaep thai ai: angraeng maeto a hnukma moe, kalah maeto palung han oh; to tih ai boeh loe maeto patawnh moe, kalah maeto prawt han oh. Sithaw tok hoi long tok to na pakaep thai mak ai, tiah a naa.
No servant can serve two masters; for he will either hate the one, and love the other; or he will cleave to the one, and despise the other. You can not serve God and riches.
14 Phoisa palung hmoek Farasi kaminawk mah hae lok hae thaih o naah, anih to pahnui o thuih.
And the Pharisees also, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.
15 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, minawk hmaa ah loe katoeng kami baktiah na oh o; toe Sithaw mah loe nangcae ih palungthin to panoek: kaminawk hmaa ah kasang ah khingya ih hmuen loe Sithaw mikhnuk ah panuet thok hmuen ah ni oh.
And he said to them: You set yourselves forth as righteous before men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men, is detestable in the sight of God.
16 Kaalok hoi tahmaanawk ih lok loe Johan dung khoek to ni oh: to nathuem hoi kamtong Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah ukhaih prae tamthang to taphong o boeh, kaminawk boih mah a thungah akun thai hanah tha pathok o.
The law and the prophets were till John. Since that time, the kingdom of God is preached, and every one enters it by force.
17 Kaalok tetta anghmat pongah loe, long hoi van anghmat han zoi kue.
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one point of the law to fail.
18 Mi kawbaktih doeh a zu to pakhrah moe, kalah nongpata la kami loe, a zu laep ah zaehaih sah kami ah oh: a sava mah pakhrak ih nongpata zu haih kami doeh, a zu leap ah zaehaih sah kami ah ni oh.
Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery: and whoever marries her that is divorced, commits adultery.
19 Angraeng maeto oh, anih loe kahni kamling hoi kahoih puu kahni to angkuk moe, ni thokkruek kanawm acaeng.
There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and feasted sumptuously every day.
20 Angraeng ih khongkha taengah, Lazaru, tiah ahmin kaom buh hni kami maeto oh, takpum loe ahmaa hoiah koi,
And there was a certain poor man named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores:
21 anih loe angraeng ih caboi hoi kakrah caaknoinawk to caak hanah a koeh: toe uinawk angzoh o moe, anih ih ahmaa to palaeh pae o.
and he would gladly have been fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. And even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 Buh hnih kami loe duek, to naah van kaminawk mah anih to Abraham ih saoek ah tapom pae o: angraeng kami doeh duek toeng, anih loe aphum o.
And it came to pass, that the poor man died, and was carried by angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried;
23 Anih loe hell thungah patangkhang, van bang a khet tahang naah, Abraham saoek nuiah kaom, Lazaru to ahmuen kangthla hoiah a hnuk. (Hadēs )
and in hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs )
24 Anih loe hangh moe, Pa Abraham, ka nuiah palungnathaih tawn raeh, Lazarus mah a bangpazung to tui thungah nup moe, kai ih palai ah tui kangqai ang pacaa pae hanah patoeh raeh; kai loe hae ih hmai kangqong hoiah patang ka khang boeh, tiah a naa.
And he called to him and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 Toe Abraham mah, Capa, nang loe na hing thungah kahoih hmuennawk to na hak, to baktih toengah Lazaru doeh kasae hmuennawk to a hak, tito panoek ah: toe anih loe vaihi monghaih to hnuk boeh moe, nang loe patang na khang boeh.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that, in your lifetime, you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus his evil things. But now he is comforted, and you are tormented.
26 Hae hmuennawk boih pacoengah, nang hoi kaicae salakah kalen parai tahawt to oh boeh: to pongah mi kawbaktih mah doeh hae ahmuen hoiah nang khaeah caeh thai mak ai, to baktih toengah mi kawbaktih mah doeh to ih ahmuen hoiah haeah angzo thai mak ai, tiah a naa.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that they that would pass hence to you, can not; nor can they that would, pass thence to us.
27 To naah angraeng mah, pa, tahmenhaih kang hnik, Lazaru to kam pa im ah patoeh raeh:
Then he said, I beseech you, therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house;
28 nawkamya pangato ka tawnh vop; hae patangkhanghaih ahmuen ah nihcae angzoh o toeng han ai ah, Lazarus mah nihcae khaeah thui pae rae nasoe, tiah a naa.
for I have five brothers; that he may earnestly admonish them, lest they also come to this place of torment.
29 Abraham mah, anih khaeah, Mosi hoi tahmaanawk a tawnh o bae; nihcae ih lok to tahngai o nasoe, tiah a naa.
Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 Anih mah, to tih na ai ni, pa Abraham: kadueh thung hoiah kami maeto nihcae khaeah caeh nahaeloe, nihcae mah dawnpakhuem o tih, tiah a naa.
But he said, Not so, Father Abraham; but if one should go to them from the dead, they would repent.
31 Abraham mah anih khaeah, Nihcae mah Mosi hoi tahmaanawk ih lok to tahngai o ai nahaeloe, duek thung hoiah angthawk let kami mah nihcae to pacae khing cadoeh, tahngai o mak ai, tiah a naa.
But he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded, though one should rise from the dead.
