There was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

And he said to his mother, "The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, look, the silver is with me; I took it, but now I will restore it to you." And his mother said, "Blessed be my son by the LORD."

And he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, "I most certainly dedicate the silver to the LORD from my hand for my son, to make an engraved image and a molten image."
4 Toe Mikah mah to phoisa to amno hanah paek let; amno mah phoisa shekel cumvai hnetto lak moe, sum daengh kop kami khaeah paek; anih mah phoisa hoiah daengh ih krang hoi atui pakaw ih krang to a sak pae; to krangnawk loe Mikah im ah oh.
When he restored the money to his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made of it an engraved image and a molten image: and it was in the house of Micah.
5 Mikah loe sithawnawk bokhaih im to tawnh; anih mah kahni maeto hoi teraphim krang to sak moe, a capa maeto angmah ih qaima ah a suek.
The man Micah had a house of God, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 To nathuem ah Israel kaminawk loe siangpahrang tawn o ai; toe kami boih mah angmacae mikhnuk ah hoih, tiah poek o ih baktih toengah hmuen to a sak o.
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
7 Judah prae Bethlehem vangpui ah kaom, Judah acaeng hoi nawnto kaom Levi thendoeng maeto loe to ah caeh.
There was a young man out of Bethlehem Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he lived there.
8 To thendoeng loe a ohhaih ahmuen pakrong hanah, Judah prae Bethlehem vangpui to tacawt taak: anih kholong caeh naah Ephraim mae ah kaom Mikah im to phak.
The man departed out of the city, out of Bethlehem Judah, to live where he could find a place, and he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he traveled.
9 Mikah mah anih khaeah, Nang loe naa ih kami maw? tiah a naa. Anih mah Mikah khaeah, Kai loe Judah prae Bethlehem vangpui ih Levi kami maeto ah ka oh, ohhaih hmuen to ka pakrong, tiah a naa.
Micah said to him, "Where did you come from?" He said to him, "I am a Levite of Bethlehem Judah, and I am going to settle wherever I may find a place."
10 To naah Mikah mah anih khaeah, Kai khaeah omh loe, kam pa hoi kai ih qaima ah om ah; saningto naah phoisa shekel hato, khukbuen hoi caaknaeknawk kang paek han, tiah a naa. To pongah Levi loe athung ah akunh.
Micah said to him, "Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver by the year, and a suit of clothing, and your food." So the Levite went in.
11 Levi loe anih hoi nawnto oh hanah palungdue; anih mah to thendoeng to a capa maeto baktiah poek.
The Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.
12 Mikah mah Levi to tathlang moe, thendoeng to angmah im ah qaima ah ohsak.
Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13 Mikah mah Levi loe vaihi kai ih qaima ah oh boeh pongah, Angraeng mah ka nuiah kahoih hmuen na sah pae tih boeh, tiah ka panoek, tiah thuih.
Then Micah said, "Now I know that the LORD will do good to me, seeing I have a Levite as my priest."
