< Joshua 1 >

1 Angraeng ih tamna Mosi duek pacoengah, Mosi lawnhkung, Nun capa Joshua khaeah, Angraeng mah,
And it came to pass, after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, —that Yahweh spake unto Joshua son of Nun, the attendant of Moses, saying:
2 Ka tamna Mosi loe duek boeh; to pongah vaihi angthawk loe, nangmah hoi haeah kaom kaminawk boih, Jordan vapui yaeh ah caeh oh, Israel kaminawk khaeah ka paek ih prae thungah akun o ah.
Moses my servant, is dead, —Now, therefore, arise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, into the land which I am giving unto them—unto the sons of Israel.
3 Mosi khaeah ka thuih ih lok baktih toengah, khok hoi na cawh ih ahmuen boih to kang paek han.
Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread, unto you, have I given it, —as I spake unto Moses.
4 Praezaek hoi kamtong Lebanon karoek to, Euphrates vapui hoi kamtong Hit kaminawk ih prae boih, niduem bang kaom kalen parai tuipui karoek to, na prae ah om tih.
From the desert and this Lebanon, even unto the great river—the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea, toward the going in of the sun, shall be your boundary.
5 Na hing thung misatuk hanah na hmaa ah angdoe kami mi doeh om mak ai; Mosi ka oh thuih baktih toengah, kang oh thuih han; kang caeh taak mak ai, kang pahnawt sut mak ai.
No man shall stand before thee, all the days of thy life, —as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee, I will not fail thee, neither will I forsake thee.
6 Nihcae ampanawk khaeah paek han lokkam ih prae to toep hanah, hae kaminawk qawk na pazet han oh pongah, thacaksak loe, misahoihaih hoiah om ah.
Be firm and bold, —for, thou, shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers, —to give unto them.
7 Ka tamna Mosi khaeah ka paek ih kaaloknawk boih pazui thaih hanah, thacaksak loe misahoihaih hoiah om ah; na caehhaih ahmuen kruekah hmacawn thai hanah, bantang bang maw, banqoi bang maw amkhraeng hmah.
Only be very firm and bold, taking heed to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded thee, do not turn aside therefrom, to the right hand or to the left, —that thou mayest prosper, whithersoever thou goest.
8 Hae kaalok kangrik Cabu hae na pakha thung hoi tacawtsak ving han om ai, kroek ai ah om hmah; to Cabu thung tarik ih loknawk boih pazui thai hanah, aqum athun palung angpaekhaih hoiah kroek ah; to tiah nahaeloe na caehhaih loklam hmacawn ueloe, na tawn ih hmuen to pung tih.
This scroll of the law must not cease out of thy mouth, but thou must talk to thyself therein, day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein, —for, then, shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and, then, shalt thou have good success.
Have I not commanded thee, Be firm and bold, do not start nor be dismayed, —for, with thee, is Yahweh thy God, whithersoever thou goest?
10 To pongah Joshua mah ukkung kacoehtanawk khaeah,
So then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying:
11 kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh oh loe, Na Angraeng Sithaw mah qawktoep han paek ih prae thungah akun thai hanah, ni thumto thung hae Jordan vapui angkat han oh pongah, caaknaek patung o coek ah, tiah thuih pae oh, tiah a naa.
Pass ye through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying: Make ready for yourselves, provisions, —for, in three days more, are ye to pass over this Jordan, to go in and possess the land which Yahweh your God is giving you, to possess.
12 Toe Joshua mah Reuben kaminawk, Gad kaminawk hoi ahap Manasseh kaminawk khaeah,
And, unto the Reubenites, and unto the Gadites, and unto the half tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying:
13 Angraeng ih tamna Mosi mah nangcae khaeah, Na Angraeng Sithaw mah anghakhaih ahmuen hoi hae prae hae ang paek o boeh, tiah thuih ih lok to panoek oh.
Remember the word which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, saying, —Yahweh your God, is granting you rest, and doth give you this land.
14 Na zunawk, na caanawk hoi pacah ih moinnawk loe Mosi mah ang paek o ih Jordan vapui yaeh ih prae ah suem oh; toe nangcae thung ih thacak misatuh kop kaminawk loe maiphaw to sin o nasoe, nam nawkamyanawk hmaa ah vapui angkat o nasoe loe,
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses hath given you over the Jordan, —but, ye, shall pass over, armed, before your brethren, —all ye mighty men of valour, and shall help them;
15 Angraeng mah nangcae hanah anghakhaih ahmuen ang paek o baktih toengah, nihcae han anghakhaih ahmuen paek ai karoek to, na Angraeng Sithaw mah nihcae han paek ih prae to toep o ai karoek to, nam nawkamyanawk to abom oh; to pacoengah amlaem o let loe, Jordan ni angyae bang kaom ahmuen, Angraeng ih tamna Mosi mah ang paek o ih prae to toep oh, tiah a naa.
until that Yahweh shall grant rest unto your brethren, as unto you, so shall, they also, possess the land which Yahweh your God giveth them, —then shall ye return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of Yahweh hath given you over the Jordan, towards the rising of the sun.
16 To naah nihcae mah Joshua khaeah, Nang paek ih lok to ka pazui o boih moe, nang patoeh ih ahmuen kruekah ka caeh o han.
Then responded they to Joshua, saying, —All that thou hast commanded us, will we do, and, whithersoever thou shalt send us, will we go:
17 Mosi ih lok to ka tahngai o boih baktih toengah, na lok doeh ka tahngai o han; Mosi khaeah Angraeng Sithaw oh baktih toengah, nang khaeah doeh om nasoe.
As in every thing we hearkened unto Moses, so, will we hearken unto thee, —only let Yahweh thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Mi kawbaktih doeh na lok to aek moe, na lok tahngai ai kami loe, na paek ih lok baktih toengah, paduek han oh; na thacaksak loe, misahoihaih hoiah om ah, tiah a naa o.
Any man who shall rebel against thy bidding, and not hearken unto thy words in all that thou shalt command him, shall be put to death, —only be firm and bold.
