< Joshua 5 >

1 Jordan vapui niduem bang kaom Amor siangpahrangnawk hoi tuipui taengah kaom Kanaan siangpahrangnawk boih mah, Israel caanawk tuipui angkat o thai hanah, nihcae tui angkat o boih ai karoek to, Angraeng mah kawbangmaw nihcae hmaa ah Jordan vapui tui to kaangsak, tiah a thaih o naah, nihcae loe Israel kaminawk pongah palungboeng o moe, poekhaih thazok o sut.
And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that YHWH had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.
2 To naah Angraeng mah Joshua khaeah, Haita to kanoe ah taak ah loe, Israel kaminawk ih tangzat hin to aat pae let ah, tiah a naa.
At that time YHWH said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.
3 To pongah Joshua mah haita to kanoe ah taak moe, Gibeah-haaraloth ahmuen ah Israel kaminawk ih tangyat hin to aah pae let.
And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
4 Joshua mah tangyat hin aah pae lethaih takung loe hae tiah oh; Izip prae hoi angzo kaminawk boih loe, misatuh nongpa ah oh o moe, Izip prae hoi tacawt o pacoengah, praezaek caehhaih loklam ah duek o boih.
And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
5 To kaminawk loe tangzat hin aah o boih; toe Izip prae thung hoi tacawt o pacoeng praezaek caehhaih loklam ah tapen kaminawk loe tangyat hin aat o ai vop.
Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.
6 Izip prae thung hoi angzo misatuh kaminawk loe, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai o ai pongah, dueh o boih ai karoek to praezaek ah saning quipalito thung amhet o; Angraeng mah, Kang paek han, tiah ampanawk khaeah lokkam ih prae, tahnutui hoi khoitui longhaih prae to hnuksak han ai ah, Angraeng mah nihcae khaeah lokkamhaih sak boeh.
For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of YHWH: unto whom YHWH sware that he would not shew them the land, which YHWH sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
7 To pongah Angraeng mah nihcae zuengah nihcae ih caanawk to khetzawn pae lat; nihcae ih caanawk to ni Joshua mah tangyat hin aah pae; nihcae loe loklam ah tangyat hin aat o ai pongah, tangyat hin aat ai kami ah oh o.
And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
8 Kaminawk boih tangyat hin aah o pongah, kana khap ai karoek to angmacae ataihaih ahmuen ah oh o.
And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
9 Angraeng mah Joshua khaeah, Izip prae ih nangcae kasae thuihaih to vaihniah kang takhoe pae ving boeh, tiah a naa. To pongah to ahmuen to vaihni ni khoek to Gilgal, tiah kawk o.
And YHWH said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.
10 Israel kaminawk loe to khrah, ni hatlai palito duem bangah, Jeriko azawn Gilgal ah atai o, to naah misong loihhaih poih to sak o.
And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
11 Loihhaih poih sak o pacoeng, khawnbang ah prae thung tacawt buh aan, taeh thuh ai ih takaw hoi haek ih cang to a caak o.
And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
12 Prae thung tacawt buh aan caak o pacoeng khawnbang ah loe manna om ai boeh; Israel kaminawk loe manna to caa o ai boeh; toe to na saning thung loe Kanaan prae ih buh aan to a caak o.
And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
13 Joshua loe Jeriko vangpui taengah phak moe, a doeng tahang naah, khenah, a ban ah sumsen kasin kami maeto anih hmaa ah angdoet; Joshua loe anih khaeah caeh tahang moe, Nang loe kaicae bangah kaom kami maw, to ai boeh loe misa bangah kaom kami? tiah a naa.
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
14 Anih mah, To tih na ai ni; kai loe Angraeng ih misatuh kaminawk zaehoikung ah ka oh pongah ni, vaihi kang zoh, tiah a naa. To naah Joshua loe mikhmai to long ah akuep tathuk moe, a bok pacoengah anih khaeah, Ka angraeng, na tamna khaeah tih lok maw na thuih han? tiah a naa.
And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of YHWH am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my master unto his servant?
15 Angraeng ih misatuh kaminawk zaehoikung mah Joshua khaeah, Na khokpanai to angkhring ah, nang doethaih ahmuen loe hmuenciim ah oh, tiah naa. Anih mah thuih ih baktih toengah Joshua mah sak.
And the captain of YHWH 's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
