The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
2 Aloih bang ramri loe paloi tuipui taeng hoi amtong moe, aloih bang prae boenghaih khoek to,
Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward;
3 aloih bangah caeh tathuk moe, Maaleh-Akrabbim poeng pacoeng, Zin avang karoek to; to ahmuen hoi Kadesh-Barnea aloih bang khoek to; to ahmuen hoi Hezron avang to poeng moe, Addar avang bang caeh tahang poe pacoengah, Karkaa avang bangah takui let;
and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned towards Karka;
4 to pacoeng hoi Azmon avang bangah caeh poe moe, Izip prae ih vapui phak pacoengah, tuipui ah boeng; hae loe nangcae han aloih bang ih ramri ah oh.
and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.
5 Ni angyae bang ramri loe paloi tuipui hoi kamtong, Jordan vapui boeng khoek to kawk. Nihcae hanah aluek bang ih ramri loe, Jordan vapui caeh tathuk haih paloi tuipui angkoihaih ahmuen hoiah amtong moe,
The east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.
6 Beth-Hoglah avang ah caeh tahang, Beth-Arabah avang aluek bang khoek to caeh tahang poe pacoengah, Reuben capa Bohan ih thlung khoek to phak.
The border went up to Beth Hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
7 To ahmuen hoi Akhor azawn aluek bangah caeh tahang moe, Debir vangpui to phak, Adummin maesom caeh tahanghaih aloih bangah kaom, Gilgal vangpui aluek bang khoek to phak; to ahmuen hoi caeh poe moe, En-Shemesh tui kangbuem ohhaih ahmuen hoi En-Gogel avang khoek to phak.
The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking towards Gilgal, that faces the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and ended at En Rogel.
8 To ahmuen hoi caeh tahang moe, Ben-Hinnom capa ih azawn taeng ih Jebus kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen, Jerusalem vangpui khoek to phak; Hinnom azawn niduem bang kalen parai kaminawk ih azawn aluek bangah kaom, mae ranuih khoek to caeh tahang.
The border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite (also called Jerusalem) southward; and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rephaim northward.
9 Ramri loe to maesom nui hoiah anghum tathuk, Nephtoah tuipuek ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh poe moe, Ephron mae ih vangpuinawk to phak; to ahmuen hoiah Baalah vangpui ah caeh tathuk poe moe, Kiriath-Jearim vangpui to phak;
The border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (also called Kiriath Jearim);
10 Baalah vangpui niduem bangah caeh moe, Seir maeto phak; Khesalon tiah kawk ih, Jearim mae taengah caeh poe moe, Beth-Shemesh vangpui hoi Timnah vangpui to poeng;
and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim (also called Chesalon) on the north, and went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;
11 ramri loe aluek bangah kaom Ekron vangpui taengah caeh moe, Shikron avang ah caeh tathuk; Baalah mae poeng pacoengah, Jabneel avang to phak moe, tuipui ah boeng.
and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12 Niduem bang ih ramri loe kalen parai tuipui hoi a taeng ih ahmuennawk to athum boih. Hae ahmuennawk loe Judah acaengnawk ih imthung takoh boih mah qawk ah toep ih ramri ah oh.
The west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Judah according to their families.
13 Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, Joshua mah, Jephunneh capa Kaleb hanah, Judah acaegnnawk salakah, Anak ampa Arba ih vangpui, Hebron to qawk ah paek.
He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion amongst the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (also called Hebron).
14 Kaleb mah Anak capa thumtonawk, Sheshai, Ahiman hoi Talmai cae to Hebron vangpui hoiah haek boih.
Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15 To ahmuen hoi Debir vangpui kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh tahang, to vangpui loe canghniah Kiriath-Sepher tiah kawk o.
He went up against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher.
16 Kaleb mah, Mi kawbaktih doeh Kiriath-Sepher vangpui to tuh moe, pazawk kami loe, ka canu Aksah ka zusak han, tiah thuih.
Caleb said, “He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.”
17 To naah Kaleb amnawk, Kenaz capa Othniel mah tuk moe, pazawk; to pongah Kaleb mah a canu Aksah to anih han zu ah paek.
Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18 Nito naah a canu loe a sava Othniel khaeah caeh moe, ampa khaeah prae maeto hni ah, tiah a thuih pae; anih to hrang nui hoi anghum tathuk naah, Kaleb mah, Timaw kang sak pae han? tiah a naa.
When she came, she had him ask her father for a field. She got off her donkey, and Caleb said, “What do you want?”
19 Anih mah, Tahamhoihaih na paek ah; aloih bang ih prae maeto nang paek boeh pongah, tuipuek doeh na paek ngala ah, tiah a naa. To pongah Kaleb mah aluek bang ih tuipuek hoi aloih bang ih tuipuek to paek hmaek.
She said, “Give me a blessing. Because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
20 Hae loe Judah acaeng imthung takoh maeto boih mah toep ih prae ah oh.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21 Edom ih ramri aloih bang ih prae, aloih bang boenghaih ahmuen ah kaom, Judah acaengnawk ih vangpuinawk loe, Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,
The farthest cities of the tribe of the children of Judah towards the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea with its coastline.

As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn’t drive them out; but the Jebusites live with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
