1 To hmuennawk kawng to Hazor siangpahrang Jabin mah thaih naah, Madon siangpahrang Jobab, Shimron siangpahrang hoi Akshaph siangpahrang khaeah,
And it cometh to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heareth, that he sendeth unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph,
2 mae ranui bangah kaom siangpahrang, Khinneroth aloih bang ih tangtling ah kaom siangpahrang, azawn ah kaom siangpahrang, niduem bangah kaom Dor prae siangpahrang,
and unto the kings who [are] on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,
3 ni angyae hoi niduem bangah kaom Kanaan kaminawk; Amor kaminawk, Hit kaminawk, Periz kaminawk, mae nuiah kaom Jebus kaminawk; Mizpah prae Hermon mae tlim ah kaom Hiv kaminawk khaeah kami patoeh.
[to] the Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh —
4 To siangpahrangnawk loe paroeai pop kami, kroek laek ai tuipui taeng ih savuet zetto pop misatuh kaminawk, hrangnawk, hrang lakoknawk hoi nawnto angzoh o.
and they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which [is] on the sea-shore for multitude, and horse and charioteer very many;
5 To siangpahrangnawk loe nawnto amkhueng o moe, Israel kaminawk tuk hanah Merom tui ohhaih ahmuen ah atai o.
and all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Angraeng mah Joshua khaeah, Nihcae to zii hmah; khawnbang vaihi atue phak naah, nihcae to Israel kaminawk hmaa ah, hum boih hanah kang paek han; nihcae ih hrang ih khok thaquinawk to aat paeh loe, hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah thlaek paeh, tiah a naa.
And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, 'Be not afraid of their presence, for to-morrow about this time I am giving all of them wounded before Israel; their horses thou dost hough, and their chariots burn with fire.'
7 To pongah Joshua hoi angmah ih misatuh kaminawk boih loe, Merom tui ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh o roep moe, nihcae to tuk o.
And Joshua cometh, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and they fall on them;
8 To naah Angraeng mah nihcae to Israel kaminawk ban ah paek; Israel kaminawk mah nihcae to pazawk o moe, Sidon-Rabbah vangpui, Misrephoth-Maim vangpui ni angyae bang ih Mizpah azawn karoek to patom o, maeto doeh pathlung ai ah hum o.
and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of Israel, and they smite them and pursue them unto the great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-Maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they smite them, till he hath not left to them a remnant;
9 Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah Joshua mah nihcae nuiah sak; nihcae ih hrang khok thaqui to aah pae moe, hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah thlaek pae.
and Joshua doth to them as Jehovah said to him; their horses he hath houghed, and their chariots burnt with fire.
10 Joshua loe amlaem let moe, Hazor vangpui to tuk; a siangpahrang to sumsen hoiah hum. Canghni ah Hazor vangpui loe to vangpuinawk boih ukkung lu koek ah oh.
And Joshua turneth back at that time, and captureth Hazor, and its king he hath smitten by the sword; for Hazor formerly [is] head of all these kingdoms;
11 To vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk to sumsen hoiah a hum moe, tamit boih; hinghaih katawn kami maeto doeh tahmat ai, Hazor vangpui doeh hmai hoiah a thlaek.
and they smite every person who [is] in it by the mouth of the sword; he hath devoted — he hath not left any one breathing, and Hazor he hath burnt with fire;
12 Angraeng ih tamna Mosi mah paek ih lok baktih toengah, to siangpahrangnawk mah uk ih vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk hoi siangpahrangnawk boih Joshua mah tuk moe, sumsen hoiah hum king.
and all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, hath Joshua captured, and he smiteth them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded.
13 Toe Israel kaminawk loe mae nuiah kaom vangpuinawk to hmai hoiah thlaek o ai; Hazor vangpui khue ni Joshua mah hmai hoiah thlaek.
Only, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel hath not burned them, save Hazor only, [it] hath Joshua burnt;
14 Vangpui thung ih hmuennawk hoi maitawnawk loe Israel kaminawk mah angmacae hanah lak o; toe to kaminawk tamit boih ai karoek to sumsen hoiah hum o; hinghaih katawn kami maeto doeh pathlung o ai.
and all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, have the sons of Israel spoiled for themselves; only, every human being they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, till their destroying them; they have not left any one breathing.
15 Angraeng mah a tamna Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, Joshua mah sak; Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktiah sak ai ih hmuen tidoeh om ai.
As Jehovah commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so hath Joshua done; he hath not turned aside a thing of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.
16 To pongah Joshua mah hae praennawk boih, mae nui ih prae, aloih bang ih prae, Goshen prae boih, azawn hoi tangtling ih ahmuen, Israel kaminawk ih mae hoi Israel kaminawk ih azawn,
And Joshua taketh all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,
17 Seir mae caehhaih loklam ih Halak mae hoi Hermon mae tlim boih, Hermon mae tlim ah kaom Lebanon azawn ih Baal Gad karoek to a lak; nihcae ih siangpahrangnawk to pazawk moe, a hum boih.
from the mount of Halak, which is going up [to] Seir, and unto Baal-Gad, in the valley of Lebanon, under mount Hermon; and all their kings he hath captured, and he smiteth them, and putteth them to death.
18 Joshua loe to ih siangpahrangnawk hoiah atue kasawkah misa angtuk o.
Many days hath Joshua made with all these kings war;
19 Gibeon vangpui ah kaom Hiv kaminawk khue ai ah loe, Israel kaminawk hoi misa angdaehhaih sah vangpui maeto doeh om ai; kalah vangpuinawk to tuk moe, a lak boih.
there hath not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel save the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; the whole they have taken in battle;
20 Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, tahmenhaih tawn ai ah, nihcae to tamit boih moe, maeto doeh tahmat han ai ah, Israel kaminawk hoi misa angtuk hanah Angraeng angmah nihcae to palung thahsak.
for from Jehovah it hath been to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
21 To nathuem ah Joshua to caeh moe, Hebron, Debir, Anab, Judah mae nui boih, Israel mae nui boih ah kaom Anak kaminawk to hum boih; Joshua mah nihcae ohhaih vangpuinawk to phraek pae boih.
And Joshua cometh at that time, and cutteth off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, even from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; with their cities hath Joshua devoted them.
22 Israel prae thungah kaom Anak kami maeto doeh pathlung ai; Gaza, Gath hoi Ashdod vangpui ah khue ni kanghmat kami to oh.
There hath not been left Anakim in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.
23 To pongah Joshua mah, Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, prae to a lak boih; to praenawk to Israel acaeng kaminawk boih hanah qawk ah toepsak; to pacoengah loe prae thungah misatukhaih om ai boeh.
And Joshua taketh the whole of the land, according to all that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and Joshua giveth it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land hath rest from war.
