< Johan 7 >
1 To pacoengah Jesu loe Kalili prae ah caeh: Judahnawk mah anih hum han pakrong o pongah, Judah prae thungah amkaeh han koeh ai.
And, after these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee; for he was not wishing, in Judaea, to be walking, because the Jews were seeking to slay him.
2 Judahnawk ih Kahni im poih sakhaih atue loe zoi boeh.
But the feast of the Jews was near, that of the pitching of tents.
3 To naah anih ih nawkamyanawk mah anih khaeah, Hae ahmuen hoiah tacawt ah loe, Judah prae ah caeh ah, to naah ni na sak ih dawnrai hmuennawk to na hnukbang kaminawk mah hnu o tih.
His brethren, therefore, said unto him—Remove hence, and withdraw into Judaea, that, thy disciples also, may view thy works which thou art doing.
4 Ahmin amthang han koeh kami loe tamquta hoiah hmuen to sah vai ai. Hae hmuennawk hae na sak pongah, nangmah hoi nangmah to long kaminawk khaeah amtuengsak ah, tiah a naa o.
For, no one, anything in secret, doeth, and yet is seeking, himself, to be well-known. If, these things, thou art doing, manifest thyself unto the world.
5 Angmah ih nawkamyanawk mah mataeng doeh Jesu to tang o ai vop.
For, not even his brethren, were believing on him.
6 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Kai ih atue pha ai vop: toe nangcae ih atue loe phak boeh.
Jesus, therefore, saith unto them—My season, not yet, is here; but, your season, at anytime, is ready:
7 Long mah nangcae hnuma thai mak ai; a sak o ih kasae hmuennawk to ka thuih pongah, Kai ni ang hnukma o.
The world cannot hate you; but, me, it hateth, because, I, bear witness concerning it, that, the works thereof, are, wicked.
8 Nangcae loe to poihkung ah caeh oh: kai ih atue pha ai vop pongah, to poihkung ah ka caeh mak ai vop, tiah a naa.
Ye, go up unto the feast: I, not yet, am coming up unto this feast, because, my season, not yet, hath fully come.
9 Nihcae khaeah hae lok a thuih pae pacoengah, anih loe Kalili ah oh vop.
And, these things, having said unto them, he was still abiding in Galilee.
10 Toe angmah ih nawkamyanawk poihkung ah caeh o pacoengah loe, anih doeh poihkung ah caeh toeng, toe minawk panoeksak ai, tamquta ah ni a caeh.
But, when his brethren had gone up unto the feast, then, he also, went up, —not openly, but as it were in secret.
11 Judahnawk mah poihkung ah anih to pakrong o, Anih loe naa ah maw oh? tiah dueng o.
The Jews, therefore, were seeking him in the feast, and were saying—Where is that one?
12 Amkhueng kaminawk loe anih kawng to angaek o: thoemto kaminawk mah, Anih loe hoih, tiah thuih o: kalah kaminawk mah loe, Hoih ai, anih loe kaminawk to aling, tiah thuih o.
and there was great, murmuring, about him among the multitudes: some, indeed, were saying—Good, is he! [but], others, were saying—Not so! but he is leading the multitude astray.
13 Toe Judahnawk zit o pongah, mi mah doeh anih kawng to kamtuengah thui o ai.
No one, nevertheless, was speaking, openly, about him, because of their fear of the Jews.
14 Poih a um phak naah, Jesu loe tempul ah dawh tahang moe, kaminawk to patuk.
Presently, however, the feast being at its height, Jesus went up unto the temple and was teaching.
15 Judahnawk loe dawnrai o, hae kami loe ca doeh amtuk ai to mah, kawbangmaw ca panoek halat? tiah thuih o.
The Jews, therefore, began to marvel, saying—How, doth this one know, letters, not having learned?
16 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Kang patuk o ih lok loe Kai ih lok na ai, Kai patoehkung ih lok ni.
Jesus, therefore, answered them, and said—My teaching, is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 Anih koehhaih sak koeh kami mah loe, ka patuk ih lok hae Sithaw ih lok maw, to tih ai boeh loe kaimah kaa ah patuk ih lok, tito panoek thaihaih to tawn tih.
If any one intend, his will, to do, he shall get to know concerning the teaching—whether it is, of God, or, I, from myself, am speaking,
18 Angmah koeh ah lokthui kami loe, a lensawkhaih hnuk han ih ni a thuih: toe Anih patoehkung lensawkhaih pakrong Kami loe, loktang ah oh, Anih loe alinghaih lok to thui ai.
He that, from himself, doth speak, his own glory, is seeking: he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same, is, true, and, injustice, in him, is there none.
19 Mosi mah kaalok ang paek o na ai maw, tipongah maeto mah doeh na pazui o ai moe, tikhoe kai hum hanah nang pakrong o loe? tiah a naa.
Did not, Moses, give you the law? And yet, not one of you, doeth the law!—Why, seek ye, to slay, me?
20 Kaminawk mah, Nang loe taqawk na tawnh: mi mah maw nang hum han pakrong? tiah a naa o.
The multitude answered—A demon, thou hast: Who, is seeking, to slay, thee?
21 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Hmuen maeto ka sak naah, dawn na rai o boih.
Jesus answered, and said unto them—One work, I did, and ye, all, are marvelling:
22 To pongah Mosi mah tangzat hin aah hanah lok ang paek o (Mosi khae hoi angzo ai, ampanawk khae hoiah ni angzoh); Sabbath niah nawkta tangzat hin na aah o.
For this cause, Moses, hath given you, circumcision, —not that, of Moses, it is, but of the fathers; —and, on Sabbath, ye circumcise a man.
23 Sabbath niah nawkta tangzat hin na aah o naah, Mosi ih kaalok aek kami ah na om o ai to mah, tikhoe Sabbath niah nganna kaminawk ngan ka tuisak naah, ka nuiah palung na phui o loe?
If, circumcision, a man receiveth, on Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, with me, are ye bitter as gall, because, a whole man, I made, well, on Sabbath?
24 Anui phawn khet hoiah lokcaek o hmah, toenghaih hoiah lokcaek oh, tiah a naa.
Be not judging according to appearance, but, just judgment, be judging,
25 To naah Jerusalem ih thoemto kaminawk mah, Nihcae mah hum han pakrong o ih kami loe Anih hae na ai maw?
So then, some of them of Jerusalem were saying—Is not, this, he whom they are seeking to kill?
26 Khenah, Anih loe misahoihaih hoiah lok a thuih, nihcae mah Anih to kawbang doeh naa o ai. Hae Kami loe Kri tangtang boeh ni, tiah ukkungnawk mah panoek o maw?
And yet, see! with freedom of speech, he is talking, and, nothing, unto him, do they say: —Have the rulers perhaps come to know, of a truth, that, this, is, the Christ?
27 Kri angzoh naah, Anih loe naa hoiah maw angzoh, tito mi mah doeh panoek mak ai, toe hae kami loe naa ih kami maw, tito ka panoek o, tiah thuih o.
But, as for this one, we know whence he is; The Christ, however, whensoever he shall come, no one, getteth to know whence he is.
28 Jesu mah tempul thungah patuk naah, Nangcae mah Kai nang panoek o: toe Kai loe kaimah koeh ah kang zo ai, Kai patoehkung loe loktang ah oh, Anih to na panoek o ai.
Jesus, therefore, cried aloud in the temple, teaching, and saying—Both me, ye know, and ye know whence I am, —and yet, of myself, have I not come, but he is real, who sent me, whom, ye, know not.
29 Anih mah Ang patoeh moe, Anih khae hoi Kang zoh pongah, Anih to Ka panoek, tiah tha hoi a hangh.
I, know him, because, from him, I am, and, he, sent me forth.
30 To pongah nihcae mah Jesu naehhaih loklam to pakrong o: toe Anih ih atue pha ai vop pongah, Anih to mi mah doeh naeh o ai.
They were seeking therefore to seize him; and yet no one laid on him his hand, because, not yet, had come his hour.
31 Paroeai kaminawk mah Anih to tang o moe, Kri angzoh naah loe, hae Kami mah sak ih pong pop kue ah anih mah dawnrai hmuennawk to sah tih maw? tiah thuih o.
But, from amongst the multitude, many, believed on him, and were saying—The Christ, whensoever he cometh, greater signs, will he do, than those which, this one, did?
32 Jesu kawng angaek kaminawk ih lok Farasinawk mah thaih o naah, Farasinawk hoi kalen koek qaima mah Anih to naeh hanah, tempul thungah toksah kaminawk to patoeh.
The Pharisees hearkened unto the multitude murmuring concerning him these things; and the High-priests and the Pharisees sent forth officers, that they might seize him.
33 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae khaeah atue setta thung ni ka oh han boeh, to pacoengah loe Kai patoehkung khaeah Ka caeh han boeh.
Jesus, therefore, said—Yet a little time, I am, with you, and withdraw unto him that sent me:
34 Kai nang pakrong o tih, toe nang hnu o mak ai: nangcae loe ka ohhaih ahmuen ah nang zo o thai mak ai, tiah thuih pae.
Ye shall seek me, and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come.
35 To naah Judahnawk mah, Aicae mah anih hnuk han ai ah, naa ah maw caeh han thuih? Maeto hoi maeto ampraek Gentelnawk khaeah caeh moe, Gentelnawk patuk han ih maw a thuih?
The Jews, therefore, said unto themselves—Whither, is, this one, about to go, that we shall not find him? Unto the dispersion of the Greeks, is he about to go, and teach the Greeks?
36 Kai nang pakrong o tih, toe nang hnu o mak ai: nangcae loe ka ohhaih ahmuen ah nang zo o thai mak ai, tiah thuih ih lok loe tih thuih koehhaih ih maw vai? tiah thuih o.
What, is this which he said: Ye shall seek me and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come?
37 Kalen poihsakhaih hnukkhuem koek niah, Jesu angdoet moe, Mi kawbaktih doeh tui anghae kami loe, Kai khaeah angzo nasoe loe, nae nasoe.
Now, on the last—the great—day of the feast, Jesus was standing, and he cried aloud, saying—If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink:
38 Mi kawbaktih doeh Kai tang kami loe, Cabu mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, anih ih takoh thung hoiah hinghaih tuipui to long tih, tiah tha hoi hang moe, lok a thuih.
He that believeth on me—just as said the Scripture, —River, from within him, shall flow, of living water.
39 (Toe to lok loe, Anih tang kaminawk mah hnuk han ih Muithla, thuih koehhaih ih ni: Jesu loe lensawkhaih hoi pakoeh ah om ai vop pongah, Kacai Muithla to paek ai vop).
Now, this, spake he concerning the Spirit which they who believed on him were about to receive; for, not yet, was there Spirit, because, Jesus, not yet, was glorified!
40 Paroeai kaminawk mah a lok to thaih o naah, Hae kami loe Tahmaa tangtang boeh ni, tiah thuih o.
Some from amongst the multitude, therefore, having hearkened unto these words, were saying—This, is, in truth, the prophet.
41 Kalah kaminawk mah loe, Hae kami loe Kri ni, tiah thuih o. Toe thoemto kaminawk mah loe, Kalili hoiah Kri angzo tih maw?
Others, were saying—This, is, the Christ. But, others, were saying—Out of Galilee, is, the Christ, to come?
42 Cabu mah, Kri loe David ih atii hoiah angzo tih, David ohhaih Bethlehem vangpui hoiah ni angzo tih, tiah thuih ih lok oh na ai maw? tiah thuih o.
Hath not the Scripture said: Of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was, cometh the Christ?
43 Anih pongah kaminawk ampraek o.
A division, therefore, arose in the multitude, because of him.
44 Thoemto kaminawk mah anih to naeh han koeh o; toe mi mah doeh anih to naeh o ai.
Certain, indeed, from among them, were wishing to seize him; but, no one, thrust upon him his hands.
45 Tempul ah toksah kaminawk loe Farasinawk hoi kalen koek qaima khaeah amlaem o let, to naah nihcae mah tikhoe Jesu nang zo o haih ai loe? tiah naa o.
So then the officers came unto the High-priests and Pharisees, and, they, said unto them—For what cause, have ye not brought him?
46 Tempul ah toksah kaminawk mah, Hae kami baktiah lokthui kami mi doeh om vai ai vop, tiah pathim pae o.
The officers answered—Never, man spake thus!
47 Farasinawk mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae doeh ang ling o boeh maw?
The Pharisees, therefore, answered them—Surely, ye also, have not been led astray?
48 Ukkungnawk, to tih ai boeh loe Farasinawk thungah Anih mah thuih ih lok tang kami oh o maw?
Surely, none of the rulers, hath believed in him, nor of the Pharisees?
49 Kaalok panoek ai haeah amkhueng kaminawk loe tangoenghaih tongh o boeh, tiah a naa o.
But, this multitude, that take no note of the law, are, laid under a curse.
50 (Nihcae ih kami maeto ah kaom, khoving naah Jesu khaeah kacaeh), Nikodemu mah nihcae khaeah,
Nicodemus saith unto them—he that came unto him formerly, being, one, from among them—
51 aicae ih daan pongah kami maeto mah sak ih hmuen to panoek ai, a thuih ih lok doeh thaih ai ah lokcaek thai maw? tiah a naa.
Surely, our law, doth not judge the man, unless it hear first from him, and get to know what he is doing?
52 To naah nihcae mah anih khaeah, Nang doeh Kalili ih kami ah maw na oh? Pakrongah loe khenah: Kalili hoiah tahmaa tacawt vai ai vop, tiah a naa o.
They answered and said unto him—Surely, thou also, art not, of Galilee? Search and see! That, out of Galilee, a prophet is not to arise.
53 To kaminawk loe angmacae im ah caeh o boih.
And they went, each unto his own house;
