1 Poek anghmang o hmah: Sithaw to tang oh loe, kai doeh tang oh.
Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God; believe also in me.
2 Kam Pa im ah loe ohhaih ahmuen oh mangh: to tiah om ai nahaeloe, kang thuih o han boeh. Nangcae ohhaih ahmuen sak hanah ka caeh.
In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 Nangcae ohhaih ahmuen ka sak pacoengah, Kang zoh let moe, Ka ohhaih ahmuen ah, na oh o toeng hanah, kaimah khaeah kang lak o han.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you with myself, that where I am, you may be also.
4 Ka caeh han ih ahmuen hoi loklam to na panoek o, tiah a naa.
And whither I go you know, and the way you know.
5 Thomas mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, naa ah maw na caeh han, tito ka panoek o ai; kawbangmaw loklam to ka panoek o thai tih? tiah a naa.
Thomas said to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest, and how can we know the way?
6 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kai loe loklam, loktang hoi hinghaih ah ka oh: Kai ai ah loe mi kawbaktih doeh Pa khaeah angzo thai mak ai.
Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.
7 Kai nang panoek o boeh nahaeloe, kam Pa doeh na panoek o tih: vaihi hoi kamtong Anih to na panoek o moe, Anih to na hnuk o boeh, tiah a naa.
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. And from this time you know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, kaicae hanah Ampa to patuek ah, to tih nahaeloe kaicae han khawt boeh, tiah a naa.
Philip said to him: Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be content.
9 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Philip, atue kasawk ah nang hoi nawnto ka oh boeh, toe kai nang panoek ai vop maw? Kai hnu kami loe Ampa to hnuk boeh; kawbangah maw kaicae hanah Ampa to patuek ah, tiah na thuih?
Jesus said to him: Have I been so long with you, and have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me, has seen the Father; and how say you, Show us the Father?
10 Pa thungah Kai ka oh moe, Kai thungah Pa oh, tito na panoek ai maw? Kang thuih o ih loknawk loe kaimah koeh ah thuih ih lok na ai ni: Kai thungah kaom Pa mah ni thuih, Anih mah ni hae toknawk hae sak.
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. The Father who dwells in me, he does the works.
11 Kai loe Pa thungah ka oh, Pa doeh kai thungah oh, tiah tang oh, to tih ai boeh loe ka sak ih hmuennawk pongah Kai hae tang oh.
Believe me, that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me. If not, believe me on account of the works themselves.
12 Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Ka nuiah tanghaih tawn kami loe, ka sak ih hmuennawk hae anih mah doeh sah toeng tih; Kam Pa khaeah caeh han oh boeh pongah, anih mah hae pongah kalen kue hmuennawk to sah tih.
Verily, verily I say to you, he that believes on me, the works that I do he also shall do. Even greater works than these shall he do, because I go to my Father;
13 Capa rang hoiah Ampa to pakoeh thai hanah, Kai ih ahmin hoiah nang hnik o ih hmuennawk boih kang paek o han.
and whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 Kawbaktih hmuen doeh Ka hmin hoiah nang hnik o nahaeloe, nang hnik o ih baktih toengah kang sak pae o han.
If you ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 Kai nang palung o nahaeloe, kang paek o ih loknawk to pakuem oh.
If you love me, keep my commandments;
16 Anih nangcae khaeah oh poe hanah, Pa khaeah lawk ka thuih han, Anih mah kalah Pathloepkung to na paek tih; (aiōn g165)
and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Paraclete, that he may dwell with you forever; (aiōn g165)
17 loktang Muithla to na paek o tih; long mah Anih to hnu ai moe, panoek ai pongah, long mah Anih to talawk thai ai: toe nangcae mah loe Anih to na panoek o; Anih loe nangcae hoi nawnto oh, nangcae thungah doeh om tih.
the Spirit of the truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, because he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
18 Pathloep ai ah kang caeh o taak mak ai: nangcae khaeah Kang zoh han.
I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you.
19 Akra ai ah long mah Kai hnu mak ai boeh; toe nangcae mah loe nang hnu o tih: Kai ka hing pongah, nangcae doeh na hing o toeng tih.
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you shall see me. Because I live, you also shall live.
20 To na niah loe Kam Pa khaeah Kai ka oh, Kai thungah nangcae na oh o moe, nangcae thungah Kai ka oh, tito na panoek o tih.
In that clay you shall know that I am in my Father, arid you in me, and I in you.
21 Ka paek ih lok tahngai moe, pakuem kami loe, Kai palung kami ah oh: Kai palung kami loe Kam Pa mah palung tih, Kai mah anih to palung moe, kaimah roe anih khaeah kam tueng pae han.
He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved by my Father; and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 To naah Judah (Judah Iskariot na ai) mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, tipongah kaicae khaeah nam tueng moe, long khaeah nam tueng ai loe? tiah a naa.
Judas, not Iscariot, said to him: Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?
23 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kai palung kami loe, kai ih loknawk to pakuem tih: Kam Pa mah anih to palung tih, anih khaeah ka caeh o moe, anih hoi nawnto Kaimacae ohhaih im to ka sak o han.
Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.
24 Kai palung ai kami mah loe ka thuih ih loknawk to pakuem ai: na thaih o ih lok loe kai ih lok na ai ni, Kai patoehkung Pa ih lok ni.
He that loves me not, keeps not my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
25 Nangcae hoi nawnto ka oh naaah hae loknawk hae kang thuih o boeh.
These things have I spoken to you, while I am yet with you.
26 Toe kam Pa mah Kai ih ahmin hoiah patoeh han ih Pathloepkung, Kacai Muithla mah, nangcae han hmuennawk boih patuk tih, kang thuih o ih loknawk to panoeksak boih tih.
But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have spoken to you.
27 Nangcae khaeah monghaih ka caehtaak, Ka monghaih to Kang paek o; long mah paek ih baktiah kang paek o ai. Poek anghmang o hmah loe, zii o hmah.
Peace I leave to you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and let it not be afraid.
28 Ka caeh moe, nangcae khaeah kang zoh let han, tiah kang thuih o ih lok to na thaih o boeh. Kai nang palung o nahaeloe, Pa khaeah ka caeh han boeh, tiah ka thuih pongah, nang hoe o tih: Pa loe kai pongah len kue.
You have heard that I said to you, I am going away, and am coming again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I go to the Father; for my Father is greater than I.
29 To hmuen pha ai naah kang thuih o coek boeh, to tiah ni to hmuen phak naah, na tang o tih.
And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
30 Long angraeng angzoh boeh pongah, hae pacoengah loe nangcae hoi lok kapop ah ka thui mak ai boeh, anih mah Kai kawbangah doeh na naa thai mak ai.
I will not talk much more with you; for the prince of this world is coming, and has nothing in me.
31 Toe Ampa to ka palung moe, Ampa mah ang paek ih lok baktih toeng ah tok ka sak, tito long mah panoek tih. Angthawk oh, hae ahmuen hoiah caeh o si boeh, tiah a naa.
But this takes place that the world may know that I love the Father, and even as he gave me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
