< Job 9 >

1 To naah Job mah,
Then Iob answered, and sayd,
2 to lok loe amsoem, tiah ka panoek; toe kami loe kawbangmaw Sithaw hmaa ah toeng thai tih?
I knowe verily that it is so: for howe should man compared vnto God, be iustified?
3 Kami mah anih hoi lok angaek han koeh cadoeh, vai sangto thungah vaito mataeng doeh pathim thai mak ai.
If I would dispute with him, hee could not answere him one thing of a thousand.
4 Sithaw loe palunghahaih, thacakhaih hoiah koi; palung thah, anih ih lok aek kami loe khosak hoihaih hnuk vai maw?
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath bene fierce against him and hath prospered?
5 Sithaw palungphui naah, nihcae panoek ai ah maenawk to angthuisak moe, amletsak thaih,
He remoueth the mountaines, and they feele not when he ouerthroweth them in his wrath.
6 long to angthuisak hanah ahuenh moe, tungnawk to anghuensak.
Hee remooueth the earth out of her place, that the pillars thereof doe shake.
7 Ni tacawt han ai ah lok a thuih pae; cakaehnawk aanghaih to vingh pae khoep.
He commandeth the sunne, and it riseth not: hee closeth vp the starres, as vnder a signet.
8 Anih mah khue ni vannawk to payuengh moe, tuipui tuiphunawk to cawh thaih.
Hee himselfe alone spreadeth out the heauens, and walketh vpon the height of the sea.
9 Anih loe Arcturus, Orian, Pleiades cakaehnawk hoi aloih bang ih cakaehnawk Sahkung ah oh.
He maketh the starres Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the climates of the South.
10 Anih loe panoek thai ai kalen hmuennawk to sak; ue, kroek laek ai dawnraihaih doeh a sak.
He doeth great things, and vnsearcheable: yea, marueilous things without nomber.
11 Khenah, anih ka taengah caeh naah, ka hnu thai ai; a caeh poe naah, anih to ka panoek thai ai.
Lo, when he goeth by me, I see him not: and when he passeth by, I perceiue him not.
12 Khenah, anih mah la ving nahaeloe, mi mah maw pakaa thai tih? Mi mah maw anih khaeah, Timaw na sak? tiah thui thai tih?
Behold, when he taketh a pray, who can make him to restore it? who shall say vnto him, What doest thou?
13 Sithaw palungphuihaih dip ai nahaeloe, amoek kami thapaek kaminawk loe anih hmaa ah ni akuep o sut tih.
God will not withdrawe his anger, and the most mightie helpes doe stoupe vnder him.
14 Kawbangmaw anih ih lok to ka pathim thai tih? Anih hoi lok angaek hanah kawbaktih lok maw ka qoih han?
Howe much lesse shall I answere him? or howe should I finde out my words with him?
For though I were iust, yet could I not answere, but I would make supplication to my Iudge.
16 Anih to ka kawk moe, ka kawkhaih lok na pathim pae aep to mah, anih mah ka lok na tahngai pae tih, tiah ka poek ai.
If I cry, and he answere me, yet woulde I not beleeue, that he heard my voyce.
17 Anih mah takhi sae hoiah ang boh moe, takung om ai ah nganbawh kana ang pungsak.
For he destroyeth mee with a tempest, and woundeth me without cause.
He wil not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitternesse.
19 Thacakhaih kawng thuih nahaeloe, khenah, anih loe thacak koek ah oh! Toenghaih hoi lokcaek naah doeh, mi mah maw lokcaekhaih im ah kai han lok pathim pae tih?
If we speake of strength, behold, he is strog: if we speake of iudgement, who shall bring me in to pleade?
If I woulde iustifie my selfe, mine owne mouth shall condemne mee: if I would be perfite, he shall iudge me wicked.
21 Coek koi om ai ah ka oh cadoeh, ka poekhaih ka panoek thai ai; ka hinghaih hae tiah doeh ka poek ai.
Though I were perfite, yet I knowe not my soule: therefore abhorre I my life.
22 Maeto kaom kanghmong hmuen loe, Coek koi om ai kami doeh, kasae kami doeh, amro hmaek tih, tiah ka thuih.
This is one point: therefore I said, Hee destroyeth the perfite and the wicked.
23 Poek ai pui hoi kami to boh maat naah, anih mah zaehaih tawn ai kami nuiah lokcaekhaih to pahnui thuih.
If the scourge should suddenly slay, should God laugh at the punishment of the innocent?
24 Long loe kasae kami ban ah paek moe, lokcaekkungnawk to mikmaengsak; to hmuen to Sithaw mah sah ai nahaeloe, mi mah maw sah tih?
The earth is giuen into the hand of ye wicked: he couereth the faces of the iudges therof: if not, where is he? or who is he?
25 Ka hinghaih aninawk loe ca phawkung pongah doeh rang o kue; nihcae loe hoihhaih hnu ai ah, cawnh o.
My dayes haue bene more swift then a post: they haue fled, and haue seene no good thing.
26 To aninawk loe cawnh karang palongpui baktiah laemh o moe, moi cop hanah karangah kazawk tahmu baktiah oh o.
They are passed as with the most swift ships, and as the eagle that flyeth to the pray.
27 Laisaephaih ka pahnet han boeh, poekraihaih ka toengh moe, ka pahnui han boeh, tiah ka thuih cadoeh,
If I say, I wil forget my complaynt, I will cease from my wrath, and comfort mee,
Then I am afrayd of all my sorowes, knowing that thou wilt not iudge me innocent.
29 Kahoih ai kami ah ka oh nahaeloe, tih hanah azom pui ah tok ka sak khing vop loe?
If I be wicked, why labour I thus in vaine?
30 Ka takpum hae dantui hoi kam saeh moe, ka ban hae kaciim ah kam saeh cadoeh,
If I wash my selfe with snowe water, and purge mine hands most cleane,
Yet shalt thou plunge mee in the pit, and mine owne clothes shall make me filthie.
32 Lokcaekhaih ahmuen ah nawnto a caeh o moe, a lok pathim hanah, Sithaw loe kai baktiah om ai.
For he is not a man as I am, that I shoulde answere him, if we come together to iudgement.
33 Aihnik lokcaek hmaek hanah, aicae salakah kaom kami mi doeh om ai.
Neyther is there any vmpire that might lay his hand vpon vs both.
34 Lokcaekhaih angmah ih cung to kai khae hoiah la ving nasoe loe, zitthok a sak ih hmuen mah na pazih hmah nasoe.
Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his feare astonish me:
35 To tiah nahaeloe anih zithaih tawn ai ah lok to ka thuih han; toe vaihi loe lok ka thui thai ai.
Then will I speake, and feare him not: but because I am not so, I holde me still.
