< Job 7 >
1 Kami loe thanathaih hoiah na ai maw long nuiah toksak? A hinghaih ninawk doeh toksak han tlai ih kami ih ninawk baktiah na ai maw oh?
Is there not an appointed time to man vpon earth? and are not his dayes as the dayes of an hyreling?
2 Tamna mah tahlip to zing moe, tlai ih toksah kami mah toktho zing baktih toengah,
As a seruant longeth for the shadowe, and as an hyreling looketh for the ende of his worke,
3 kai doeh khrah paroeai thungah ka sak ih tok loe azom pui ah ni oh, aqumnawk doeh kai patangkhanghaih ah ni oh.
So haue I had as an inheritance the moneths of vanitie, and painefull nights haue bene appointed vnto me.
4 Ka iih naah, natuek naah maw aqum hae boeng ueloe, kang thawk han? tiah ka poek; to tiah akhawnbang khodai khoek to ahnuk ahmaa kam let.
If I layed me downe, I sayde, When shall I arise? and measuring the euening I am euen full with tossing to and from vnto the dawning of the day.
5 Ka ngan loe alungh hoi maiphu mah khuk khoep boeh; ka nganhin loe akah rak moe, ahnai to tacawt.
My flesh is clothed with wormes and filthinesse of the dust: my skinne is rent, and become horrible.
6 Ka hinghaih aninawk loe kahni sah kami ih camprai pongah rang kue moe, oephaih om ai ah laemh o.
My dayes are swifter then a weauers shittle, and they are spent without hope.
7 Aw ka hinghaih loe takhi ah ni oh, tiah panoek ah; ka mik mah hoihhaih roe hnu mak ai boeh.
Remember that my life is but a wind, and that mine eye shall not returne to see pleasure.
8 Vaihi kai hnu kaminawk mah, kai na hnu o let mak ai boeh; nang khet naah, ka om mak ai boeh.
The eye that hath seene me, shall see me no more: thine eyes are vpon me, and I shall be no longer.
9 Kanghmaa tamai baktiah, taprong ah caeh tathuk kami loe, amlaem let mak ai boeh. (Sheol )
As the cloude vanisheth and goeth away, so he that goeth downe to the graue, shall come vp no more. (Sheol )
10 Anih loe angmah im ah amlaem let mak ai boeh; a ohhaih ahmuen mah doeh anih to panoek mak ai boeh.
He shall returne no more to his house, neither shall his place knowe him any more.
11 To pongah pakha hae kang sumh mak ai; patangkhang ka muithla hoiah lok ka thuih moe, khosak kasae ka hinghaih hoiah lok ka thuih han.
Therefore I will not spare my mouth, but will speake in the trouble of my spirite, and muse in the bitternesse of my minde.
12 Kai loe tuipui ah maw ka oh, tuipui thung ih tanga pui ah maw ka oh moe, kai toepkung na suek?
Am I a sea or a whalefish, that thou keepest me in warde?
13 Ka iihkhun mah kamongah anghaksak ueloe, kang song naah ka nathaih hoikhang tih mue, tiah ka poek,
When I say, My couch shall relieue me, and my bed shall bring comfort in my meditation,
14 to naah amaang sae mah kai ang pazih, hnuksakhaih mah ang tasoehsak;
Then fearest thou me with dreames, and astonishest me with visions.
15 to pongah ka hing pongah loe, tahnong panamh moe, duek to ka koeh kue boeh.
Therefore my soule chuseth rather to be strangled and to die, then to be in my bones.
16 Ka hinghaih hae ka panuet; ka hing poe mak ai; kaimabueng na omsak ah; ka hinghaih aninawk loe avanghaih tidoeh om ai.
I abhorre it, I shall not liue alway: spare me then, for my dayes are but vanitie.
17 Kami loe kawbangah maw oh moe, anih to na pakoeh? Anih to na poek?
What is man, that thou doest magnifie him, and that thou settest thine heart vpon him?
18 Anih to akhawnbang kruek na paqaih thuih moe, anih to na tanoek tuektuek?
And doest visite him euery morning, and tryest him euery moment?
19 Kai caeh taak ai ah nasetto maw na oh han vop, kaimah ih tamtui paaeh karoek to, kaimabueng nang omsak mak ai maw?
Howe long will it be yer thou depart from me? thou wilt not let me alone whiles I may swallowe my spettle.
20 Aw kaminawk toepkung, kai loe ka zae boeh maw? Na hmaa ah timaw ka sak? Tipongah kaimah han hmuenzit ah ka oh hanah, kah han na patoep ih hmuen ah nang suek loe?
I haue sinned, what shall I do vnto thee? O thou preseruer of me, why hast thou set me as a marke against thee, so that I am a burden vnto my selfe?
And why doest thou not pardon my trespasse? and take away mine iniquitie? for nowe shall I sleepe in the dust, and if thou seekest me in the morning, I shall not be found.
