< Job 19 >
Then Job answered and said,
2 kai poek nang patang o sak, nasetto maw lok hoiah nang pacaekthlaek o han vop?
How long will ye vex my soul and break me in pieces with words?
3 Vai hato nang zoeh o boeh; azathaih tawn ai ah panoek vai ai ih kami baktiah nang zoeh o.
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye deal hardly with me.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 Nangcae loe kai ni nam oek o thuih, a sak ih zaehaih pongah ni azathaih hoiah oh, tiah nang naa o:
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 toe kai loe Sithaw mah ni amtimsak moe, anih ih thaang pongah ka manh, tito panoek oh.
Know now that God hath subverted me [in my cause], and hath compassed me with his net.
7 Khenah, ka sakpazaehaih thung hoiah ka hang; mi mah doeh tahngai ai; tha hoi ka hangh, toe toenghaih hoiah lokcaek kami om ai.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry for help, but there is no judgment.
8 Anih mah ka poeng thaih han ai ah ka caehhaih loklam to pakaa khoep, anih mah ka caehhaih loklam ah vinghaih to suek.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and hath set darkness in my paths.
9 Ka lensawkhaih to anih mah ang khringh pae moe, ka lu nui ih lumuek to ang lak pae ving.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Anih mah ahmuen kruek hoi ang boh pongah, kam ro boeh; anih mah ka oephaih to thing baktiah ang phongh pae ving.
He hath broken me down on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he plucked up like a tree.
11 Anih ih palung kabae to kai khaeah ang palai moe, kai hae a misa ah ang poek.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as [one of] his adversaries.
12 Anih ih misatuh kaminawk loe, kai tuk hanah nawnto angzoh o moe, kai ih kahni im taeng boih ah atai o.
His troops come on together, and cast up their way against me, and encamp round about my tent.
13 Kam nawkamyanawk to kai khae hoi kangthla ah a ohsak moe, kam puinawk doeh panoek vai ai ih kami baktiah ni oh o.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are wholly estranged from me.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
I call unto my servant, and he giveth me no answer, [though] I entreat him with my mouth.
17 Kang hahhaih takhi loe ka zu koeh koiah om ai, ka caanawk hanah panuet thok hmuen ah oh boeh.
My breath is strange to my wife, and my supplication to the children of my [mother’s] womb.
18 Ue, nawktanawk mah ang patoek o, kang thawk tahang naah, ang pahnui o thuih.
Even young children despise me; if I arise, they speak against me.
All my inward friends abhor me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Ka huh loe nganhin hoi angbet rap boeh moe, ka haa doeh angkhringh boeh.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Tipongah Sithaw pacaekthlaek baktiah kai nang pacaekthlaek o loe? Kai ih angan hoiah zok nam hah o ai vop maw?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Aw, ka loknawk hae pakuem o nasoe loe, nihcae mah cabu ah pathok o nasoe.
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were inscribed in a book!
24 Sum cacung hoiah tarik o nasoe loe, thlung nuiah dungzan ah tarik o poe nasoe!
That with an iron pen and lead they were graven in the rock for ever!
25 Kai akrangkung loe hing, tiah ka panoek; anih loe hnukkhuem atue boeng naah long ah angdoe tih;
But I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand up at the last upon the earth:
26 ka nganhin amro moe, hae takpum hae amro ving cadoeh, ka taksa hoiah Sithaw to ka hnu vop tih;
And after my skin hath been thus destroyed, yet from my flesh shall I see God:
27 anih to ka hnu tih; minawk mah hnuk ih na ai, kaimah roe mik hoiah ka hnu tih; ka palungthin mah zing kong boeh.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another. My reins are consumed within me.
28 Nangcae mah, anih hae kawbangmaw pacaekthlaek han, anih zae nethaih kawbangmaw hnuk thai han? tiah na thuih o,
If ye say, How we will persecute him! seeing that the root of the matter is found in me;
29 sumsen to na zit o han oh, Sithaw palungphuihaih mah sumsen hoi danpaekhaih to tacawtsak, lokcaekhaih atue oh, tiah panoek oh, tiah a naa.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath [bringeth] the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
