< Job 13 >
1 Khenah, hae hmuennawk hae ka mik mah hnuk boeh; ka naa mah thaih moe, panoek boeh.
Lo, all — hath mine eye seen, Heard hath mine ear, and it attendeth to it.
According to your knowledge I have known — also I. I am not fallen more than you.
3 Toe Thacak Sithaw khaeah ka thuih moe, Sithaw hoi angaek hanah ka koeh.
Yet I for the Mighty One do speak, And to argue for God I delight.
4 Toe nangcae loe amsawnlok thui kami, tidoeh avang ai siboi ah ni na oh o.
And yet, ye [are] forgers of falsehood, Physicians of nought — all of you,
5 Lok apae ai ah na oh o duem nahaeloe, nangmacae palunghahaih ah om tih.
O that ye would keep perfectly silent, And it would be to you for wisdom.
6 Ka thuih han ih lok to tahngai oh loe, pahni hoiah ka thuih han ih lok hae tahngai oh.
Hear, I pray you, my argument, And to the pleadings of my lips attend,
7 Sithaw kasae na thuih o han maw? Anih to na ling o han maw?
For God do ye speak perverseness? And for Him do ye speak deceit?
8 Anih mikhmai maw na khet o han? Sithaw han lok na aek pae o han maw?
His face do ye accept, if for God ye strive?
9 Anih mah ang khet o naah hoih, tiah thui tih maw? Kami aling baktiah Sithaw to aling thai maw?
Is [it] good that He doth search you, If, as one mocketh at a man, ye mock at Him?
10 Tamquta hoi mikhmai na khet o nahaeloe, anih mah na thuitaek o tih.
He doth surely reprove you, if in secret ye accept faces.
11 A lensawkhaih loe nang han zitthok ai maw? Anih zit thohhaih na nuiah krah mak ai maw?
Doth not His excellency terrify you? And His dread fall upon you?
12 Nangcae panoek thaihaih loe maiphu baktiah ni oh, nangcae abuephaih ahmuen doeh long hoiah sak ih abuephaih ah ni oh.
Your remembrances [are] similes of ashes, For high places of clay your heights.
13 Anghngai o duem ah, lok ka thuih han vop; to pacoengah kawbaktih hmuen doeh ka nuiah pha nasoe.
Keep silent from me, and I speak, And pass over me doth what?
14 Toe kai loe ka ngan hae kaek moe, ka hinghaih hae ban hoi ka sin han.
Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth? And my soul put in my hand?
15 Anih mah kai na hum cadoeh, a nuiah oephaih ka tawn vop tih; a hmaa ah zae loihhaih lok to ka thuih han vop.
Lo, He doth slay me — I wait not! Only, my ways unto His face I argue.
16 Anih loe kai pahlonghaih ah om tih; amoek kaminawk loe a hmaa ah angzo o mak ai.
Also — He [is] to me for salvation, For the profane cometh not before Him.
17 Ka lok hae palung tang hoi tahngai oh; ka thuih ih lok hae naa patueng oh.
Hear ye diligently my word, And my declaration with your ears.
18 Khenah, vaihi kaimah kawng taphong hanah ka oh coek, ka zaehaih loih tih boeh, tiah ka panoek.
Lo, I pray you, I have set in order the cause, I have known that I am righteous.
19 Mi mah maw kai hae zaehaih net tang tih? To tiah zaehaih na net nahaeloe, lok apae ai ah kang hngai duem moe, ka duek halat han boeh.
Who [is] he that doth strive with me? For now I keep silent and gasp.
Only two things, O God, do with me: Then from Thy face I am not hidden.
21 Kai khae hoi na ban to azuk ving ah, na zitthohhaih hoiah na pazih hmah.
Thy hand put far off from me, And Thy terror let not terrify me.
22 To pacoengah na kawk ah, kang pathim han; to tih ai boeh loe kai ka thuih hmaloe han, to pacoengah nang mah pathim ah.
And call Thou, and I — I answer, Or — I speak, and answer Thou me.
How many iniquities and sins have I? My transgression and my sin let me know.
Why dost Thou hide Thy face? And reckonest me for an enemy to Thee?
25 Takhi mah hmuh ih thingqam to na zit maw? Kangqo thingqam to na patom han maw?
A leaf driven away dost Thou terrify? And the dry stubble dost Thou pursue?
26 Kakhaa parai ka zaehaih to na pakuem moe, thendoeng nathuem ah ka sak ih zaehaih atho to vaihi kai han nang tongsak boeh.
For Thou writest against me bitter things, And causest me to possess iniquities of my youth:
27 Ka khok ah thlong nang thuk moe, ka caehhaih loklamnawk boih to na khet; ka cawh ih khokkong doeh na parui boih.
And puttest in the stocks my feet, And observest all my paths, On the roots of my feet Thou settest a print,
28 To tiah raihaih tongh kami loe, kaqong hmuen baktih, karaa mah caak ih laihaw kaprawn baktiah, thazok moe, anghmat zuep boeh.
And he, as a rotten thing, weareth away, As a garment hath a moth consumed him.
