< Job 11 >

1 To naah Namaat acaeng Zophar mah,
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 pop parai loknawk hae pathim han ai boeh maw? Lokthui thaih kami to a zaehaih thung hoiah loisak han oh maw?
Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Lok nam laihaih mah minawk lokpae ai ah anghgaisak duem thai tih maw? Kami na pahnui thuih naah, nang azatpaw han thuitaek kami om mak ai maw?
Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
5 Toe Sithaw mah lokthui nasoe loe, na pahni to paong pae nasoe,
But Oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that is manifold in effectual working! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7 Kathuk Sithaw ih hmuen to na hnuk thai maw? Thacak Sithaw akoephaih na panoek thai maw?
Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
8 Vannawk pongah kasang, timaw na sah thai tih? Hell pongah kathuk kue, timaw na panoek thai tih? (Sheol h7585)
It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? (Sheol h7585)
9 To kathuk hmuennawk tahhaih loe long pongah sawk kue moe, tuipui pongah doeh kawk kue.
The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 Sithaw mah naeh maw, thong pakhrak maw, to tih ai boeh loe lok maw na caek nahaeloe, mi mah maw pakaa thai tih?
If he pass through, and shut up, and call unto judgment, then who can hinder him?
11 Sithaw loe tidoeh avang ai kami to panoek; sakpazae ih hmuen doeh a hnuk; to tiah nahaeloe anih mah to hmuen to poek ai ah om tih maw?
For he knoweth vain men: he seeth iniquity also, even though he consider it not.
12 Toe taw ih laa hrang to kami baktiah tapen naah ni, tidoeh avang ai kami loe palungha thai vop tih.
But vain man is void of understanding, yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.
13 Toe palungthin nam khraih moe, angmah khaeah ban na payangh pacoengah,
If thou set thine heart aright, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
14 na ban ah sakpazaehaih om cadoeh, to zaehaih to na vah ving moe, na ohhaih kahni im ah sethaih na omsak ai nahaeloe,
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents;
Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 raihaih to na pahnet ueloe, kalaem tangcae tui baktiah ni na poek tih boeh.
For thou shalt forget thy misery; thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away:
17 Na hinghaih loe athun ih ni aengh pongah aang kue tih; vaihi kaving ah na oh cadoeh, akhawnbang baktiah aang tih.
And [thy] life shall be clearer than the noonday; though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt search [about thee], and shalt take thy rest in safety.
Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 Toe kasae kami ih mik loe thazok tih, loih o mak ai; nihcae oephaih doeh dueh ving tih, tiah a naa.
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall have no way to flee, and their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.
