< Jeremiah 8 >

1 Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; to naah loe Judah siangpahrangnawk ih ahuh, ukkung angraengnawk ih ahuh, qaimanawk ih ahuh, tahmaanawk ih ahuh, Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk ih ahuhnawk to taprong thung hoiah taprok o ueloe,
“At that time,” declares the LORD, “the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of the officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.
2 Nihcae mah palung moe, a toksak pae o ih a hnukah bang o moe, lok a dueng o pacoengah, a bok o ih, ni, khrah, van ih cakaehnawk boih hmaa ah pazaek o tih; to ahuhnawk loe tapop o mak ai, aphum doeh aphum o mak ai; long kahoih sakhaih aek baktiah ni om o tih.
They will be exposed to the sun and moon, and to all the host of heaven which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up or buried, but will become like dung lying on the ground.
3 Nihcae ka haekhaih ahmuen kruekah kanghmat, acaeng kasae kaminawk mah, hing pongah loe duek to qoih han koeh o kue tih, tiah misatuh Angraeng mah thuih.
And wherever I have banished them, the remnant of this evil family will choose death over life,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
4 Angraeng mah, Amthaek kami loe angthawk let na ai maw? Lam amkhraeng kami doeh, amlaem let na ai maw? tiah thuih, tiah nihcae khaeah thui paeh.
So you are to tell them this is what the LORD says: “Do men fall and not get up again? Does one turn away and not return?
5 Tipongah hae kaminawk loe hnuk angqoi o ving loe? Tikhoe Jerusalem loe hnukbang ah angqoi poe loe? Nihcae mah alinghaih to kacakah patawnh o pongah, amlaem let han koeh o ai boeh.
Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.
6 Ka tahngaih het naah, nihcae loe loktang lok to thui o ai; a sak o ih zaehaih pongah mi doeh dawnpakhuem o ai, timaw ka sak? tiah a thuih o lat; misatuk naah kacawn hrang baktiah, angmacae hmabang ah a cawnh o boih.
I have listened and heard; they do not speak what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, asking, ‘What have I done?’ Everyone has pursued his own course like a horse charging into battle.
7 Ue, van ih tui tavaa mataeng doeh angmah ih atue to panoek; pahuunawk, paritcanawk, pungpaenawk mah doeh angmacae angpuenhaih atue to panoek o; toe kai ih kaminawk loe Angraeng lokcaekhaih to panoek o ai.
Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons. The turtledove, the swift, and the thrush keep their time of migration, but My people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
8 Kaicae loe palungha kami ah ka oh o, Angraeng ih lok kaicae khaeah oh, tiah kawbangmaw na thui o thai tih? Khenah, ca tarik kaminawk ih amsawnlok tarikhaih cacung mah loe amsawnlok ni tarik boeh.
How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the Law of the LORD is with us,’ when in fact the lying pen of the scribes has produced a deception?
9 Palungha kaminawk loe azathaih phawh o boeh, tasoeh o moe, naeh o boeh; khenah, Angraeng ih lok to pahnawt o ving boeh loe, nihcae mah kawbaktih palunghahaih to maw tawn o vop tih?
The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what wisdom do they really have?
10 To pongah a zunawk to minawk khaeah ka paek pae han, nihcae ih lawk to toep hanah minawk khaeah ka paek han; kathoeng kalen tih ai kami boih uthaih palungthin a tawnh o, tahmaa hoi qaima mah doeh alinghaih hoiah ni toksak o.
Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. For from the least of them to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; from prophet to priest, all practice deceit.
11 Monghaih om ai to mah, monghaih, monghaih, tiah thuih o, kai kaminawk ih ahma loe nung parai ai, tiah a thuih o.
They dress the wound of the daughter of My people with very little care, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace at all.
12 Panuet kaom hmuen to a sak o naah, nihcae mah azathaih tawnh o maw? Azat o ai, nihcae loe azathaih roe tawn o ai, mikhmai mataeng doeh sae o ai; to pongah nihcae loe kadueh kaminawk salakah dueh o tih; nihcae ka thuitaek naah loe nihcae to atlim ah pakhrah o tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Are they ashamed of the abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I punish them, they will collapse, says the LORD.
13 Nihcae to kam rosak han, tiah Agnraeng mah thuih; misurkung pongah misurthaih om mak ai, thaiduetkung pongah thaiduet thaih om mak ai, aqam doeh zai boih tih boeh; nihcae khaeah ka paek ih hmuennawk to ka lak pae let han.
I will take away their harvest, declares the LORD. There will be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the tree, and even the leaf will wither. Whatever I have given them will be lost to them.”
14 Tipongah hae ah anghnut o sut loe? Nawnto amkhueng oh, kacak sipae vangpuinawk thungah akun o si loe, to ah om o duem si; Angraeng nuiah a zae o boeh pongah, aicae Angraeng Sithaw mah aicae ang ohsak duem moe, kakhaa tui hoi abaeh ih tui to ang naek o sak boeh.
Why are we just sitting here? Gather together, let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has doomed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
15 Monghaih to a zing o, toe hoihhaih angzo ai; ngantuihaih to a zing o, toe khenah raihaih to oh lat.
We hoped for peace, but no good has come, for a time of healing, but there was only terror.
16 Anih ih hrang hnah hroekhaih atuen loe Dan prae hoiah ang thaih; anih ih thacak hrang tae anghahhaih tuen mah prae boih tasoehsak; nihcae loe angzoh o moe, prae hoi athung ah kaom hmuennawk, vangpui hoi athung ah kaom kaminawk boih to paro o.
The snorting of enemy horses is heard from Dan. At the sound of the neighing of mighty steeds, the whole land quakes. They come to devour the land and everything in it, the city and all who dwell in it.
17 Khenah, nangcae salakah pahui to kang patoeh han, kawbang doeh sah thai ai, pahui sae mah nangcae to patuk boih tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
“For behold, I will send snakes among you, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they will bite you,”
18 Palungset pathloepkung, kai takoh thung ih palungthin loe zaisut boeh.
My sorrow is beyond healing; my heart is faint within me.
19 Angthla parai prae hoiah kai kaminawk ih canu qahhaih lok to tahngai ah; Zion ah Angraeng om ai maw? Anih thungah siangpahrang om ai maw? Tipongah sakcop ih krangnawk, kalah prae kaminawk ih krangnawk hoiah kai palung ang phui o sak loe?
Listen to the cry of the daughter of my people from a land far away: “Is the LORD no longer in Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they provoked Me to anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?”
20 Athaih pakhrikhaih atue laemh boeh, nipui tue doeh boeng boeh, toe aicae loe pahlong ah a om o ai vop.
“The harvest has passed, the summer has ended, but we have not been saved.”
21 Kai kami ih canu to nganbawh kana hak pongah, kai doeh nganbawh kana ka hak toeng; kai loe palungset moe, dawnraihaih hoiah ka oh.
For the brokenness of the daughter of my people I am crushed. I mourn; horror has gripped me.
22 Gilead ah ngantuihaih thing tasi om ai maw? To ah siboi om ai maw? Tipongah kai kaminawk ih canu loe ngantui ai ah oh vop loe?
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored?
