< Jeremiah 47 >
1 Faro mah Gaza tuh ai naah, Philistin kawng pongah tahmaa Jeremiah khaeah angzo Angraeng ih lok loe,
The word of YHWH that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.
2 Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; Khenah aluek bangah tui to len tahang, tui uemhaih mah pha ueloe, prae hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk boih, vangpui hoi a thung ih kaminawk to uem boih tih; to naah kaminawk qah o ueloe, prae thungah kaom kaminawk to hang o boih tih.
Thus saith YHWH; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of thee and shall howl.
3 Misanawk ih hrang khok tuenh, hrang lakoknawk ih atuen, hrang lakok khok tuennawk pongah, ampanawk ih bantha to zok o moe, a caanawk doeh khen o thai ai boeh;
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
4 Philistin kaminawk amro boihhaih ni, Tura hoi Sidon abomh hanah anghmat kaminawk phreak boihhaih ni loe phak boeh; Angraeng mah Philistin kaminawk Kaptor prae ih anghmat kaminawk to amrosak tih boeh.
Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for YHWH will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 Gaza loe sam to aat boih tih; Ashkelon doeh kanghmat azawnnawk hoi nawnto amrosak boeh; nasetto maw nangmah hoi nangmah to nang aah khing han vop?
Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 Aw Angraeng ih sumsen nang, anghngai duem ai ah nasetto maw na oh han vop? Nangmah ih tabu thungah pacaeng ah, anghak ah loe om duem lai ah,
O thou sword of YHWH, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7 toe Ashkelon hoi tuipui taeng to tuk hanah, Angraeng mah lokpaek boeh pongah, kawbangmaw nang hak thai tih?
How can it be quiet, seeing YHWH hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
