< Jeremiah 46 >

1 Gentel kawng pongah tahmaa Jeremiah khaeah angzo Angraeng ih lok loe;

For Egypt, concerning the force of Pharaoh-Necho king of Egypt, that hath been by the river Phrat, in Carchemish, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath smitten, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:
3 misa angvaenghaih hoi amthoep oh loe, misatuk hanah amsak oh!
'Set ye in array shield and buckler, And draw nigh to battle.
4 Nangcae hrang angthueng kaminawk, hrangnawk to misatuk pakaahaih hoiah khuk oh, a nuiah angthueng oh loe sum lumuek angmuek hoiah caeh oh; tayaenawk to taak oh loe, misatuk pakaahaih to angkhuk oh.
Gird the horses, and go up, ye horsemen, And station yourselves with helmets, Polish the javelins, put on the coats of mail.
5 Nihcae loe zit o moe, hnukbang ah amlaem o let boeh, tiah ka hnuk coek boeh; thacak nihcae ih misatuh kaminawk loe thazok o boeh, hnukbang angqoi ai ah a cawnh o boih boeh; ahnuk ahma zithaih to oh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Wherefore have I seen them dismayed — They are turned backward, And their mighty ones are beaten down, And [to] a refuge they have fled, and not turned the face? Fear [is] round about — an affirmation of Jehovah.
6 Angtawt kaloe kaminawk doeh cawnh patok o moe, thacak kaminawk doeh loih o ai; nihcae loe aluek bang Euphrate vapui taengah amthlaek o ueloe, amtimh o tih.
The swift do not flee, nor do the mighty escape, Northward, by the side of the river Phrat, They have stumbled and fallen.
7 Tui baktiah angthawk moe, tuiphu baktiah angphui tahang kami loe mi aa?
Who is this? as a flood he cometh up, As rivers do his waters shake themselves!
8 Izip loe tui baktiah kangthawk, vapui tuiphunawk baktiah longh; anih mah ka caeh tahang moe, long hae ka khuk khoep han; to ah kaom vangpui hoi kaminawk to kam rosak han, tiah thuih.
Egypt, as a flood cometh up, And as rivers the waters shake themselves. And he saith, I go up; I cover the land, I destroy the city and the inhabitants in it.
9 Aw hrangnawk, daw o tahang ah! Hrang lakoknawk tha hoi cawn oh! Thacak misatuh kaminawk, misatuk pakaahaih kasin, Ethiopia kaminawk hoi Libya kaminawk, misa kah hanah kalii kasin, Lydia kaminawk to tacawt o nasoe.
Go up, ye horses; and boast yourselves, ye chariots, And go forth, ye mighty, Cush and Phut handling the shield, And Lud handling — treading the bow.
10 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Sithaw mah misanawk nuiah lu lakhaih ni, anih ih misanawk lu lakhaih niah oh baktih toengah, zok amhah moe, athii mah paqui ai karoek to nihcae to sumsen mah caa tih; misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw han angbawnhaih loe aluek bang prae Euphrates vapui taengah oh.
And that day [is] to the Lord Jehovah of Hosts A day of vengeance, To be avenged of His adversaries, And the sword hath devoured, and been satisfied, And it hath been watered from their blood, For a sacrifice [is] to the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, In the land of the north, by the river Phrat.
11 Aw tangla cuem, Izip canu, Gilead ah caeh tahang ah loe, ngantuihaih tasi to la ah; nang loe tasi nang nok parai boeh e, na hoih thai ai; nang han ngantuihaih om ai boeh.

Nations have heard of thy shame, And thy cry hath filled the land, For the mighty on the mighty did stumble, Together they have fallen — both of them!'
13 Izip prae tuk hanah Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchanezzar kawbangmaw angzo tih, tiah tahmaa Jeremiah khaeah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok loe;
The word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning the coming in of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, to smite the land of Egypt:
14 na taengah kaom kaminawk to sumsen hoiah hum tih, to pongah acoehaih hoiah oh o moe, kacakah angdoet o hanah, Izip prae ah thui paeh; Migdol, Noph hoi Tahpanhes ah doeh thui pae oh.
'Declare ye in Egypt, and sound in Migdol, Yea, sound in Noph, and in Tahpanhes say: Station thyself, yea, prepare for thee, For a sword hath devoured around thee,
15 Tipongah maw misahoih kaminawk to amtimh o? Angraeng mah nihcae to nuih pongah nihcae loe angdoe o thai ai.
Wherefore hath thy bull been swept away? He hath not stood, because Jehovah thrust him away.
16 Anih mah pop parai kaminawk to amthaeksak, ue, kaminawk loe maeto pacoeng maeto nuiah amtimh o; to naah nihcae mah, Angthawk oh, misa mah sumsen hoiah pacaekthlaek pongah, aimah acaeng kaminawk hoi aimah prae ah amlaem o let si, tiah thuih o.
He hath multiplied the stumbling, Yea one hath fallen upon his neighbour, And they say: Rise, and we turn back to our people, And unto the land of our birth, Because of the oppressing sword.
17 To ahmuen ah nihcae mah, Izip siangpahrang Faro loe lok cing ni; anih mah atue laemsak boih boeh, tiah hang o.
They have cried there: Pharaoh king of Egypt [is] a desolation, Passed by hath the appointed time.

19 Izip prae ah kaom canu nang, misong ah caeh hanah, nangmah ih hmuennawk to taoeng ah, Noph vangpui loe kami khosak han ai ah phrae tih boeh.
Goods for removal make for thee, O inhabitant, daughter of Egypt, For Noph becometh a desolation, And hath been burnt up, without inhabitant.
20 Izip loe maitaw tala baktiah kranghoih, toe amrohaih loe aluek bang hoiah angzoh.
A heifer very fair [is] Egypt, Rending from the north doth come into her.
21 Anih mah thlai ih kaminawk loe angmah salakah kathawk parai maitaw caa baktiah oh o; toe nihcae amrohaih atue, nihcae thuitaekhaih atue to phak boeh pongah, angdoe o thai ai, hnuk angnawn o moe, nawnto a cawnh o.
Even her hired ones in her midst [are] as calves of the stall, For even they have turned, They have fled together, they have not stood, For the day of their calamity hath come on them, The time of their inspection.
22 Caka hoi thing pakhruk han kacaeh kaminawk baktiah, misanawk mah caka to sin o ueloe, anih tuk hanah angzo o tih, to naah nang ih misatuh kaminawk ih lok loe pahui sae lok baktiah ni om tih.
Its voice as a serpent goeth on, For with a force they go, And with axes they have come in to her, As hewers of trees.
23 Nihcae loe kroek laek ai pakhuhnawk pongah doeh pop o kue pongah, anih ih kathah parai thingnawk to pakhruh pae o boih tih.
They have cut down her forest, An affirmation of Jehovah — for it is not searched, For they have been more than the grasshopper, And they have no numbering.
24 Izip canu loe azathaih tongh ueloe, aluek bang kaminawk ban ah paek tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Ashamed hath been the daughter of Egypt, She hath been given into the hand of the people of the north.
25 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah, Khenah, No vangpui ah kaom Amon kaminawk, Faro siangpahrang hoi Izip kaminawk ih sithawnawk, nihcae ih siangpahrangnawk, Faro siangpahrang nuiah amha kaminawk to ka thuitaek boih han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih;
Said hath Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am seeing after Amon of No, And after Pharaoh, and after Egypt, And after her gods, and after her kings, And after Pharaoh, and after those trusting in him,
26 nihcae hinghaih pakrong kaminawk to Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar hoi a tamnanawk ih ban ah ka paek han; hnukkhuem ah, Izip prae loe canghnii ih baktiah kaminawk om o let tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
And I have given them into the hand of those seeking their life, And into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of his servants, And afterwards it is inhabited, As [in] days of old — an affirmation of Jehovah.
27 Toe Aw ka tamna Jakob, zii hmah; Aw Israel, tasoeh hmah; khenah, angthla parai prae hoiah nang to kang pahlong moe, na caanawk doeh misong ah ohhaih prae thung hoiah ka pahlong han; Jakob acaeng loe amlaem let ueloe, misa zithaih om mak ai, nihcae loe monghaih hoiah khosah o tih boeh.
And thou, thou dost not fear, my servant Jacob, Nor [art] thou dismayed, O Israel, For lo, I am saving thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob hath turned back, And hath been at rest, and been at ease, And there is none disturbing.
28 Aw ka tamna Jakob, zii hmah, nang khaeah ka oh; nangcae kang haehsak phanghaih prae to ka phraek boih langlacadoeh, nangcae loe kam rosak boih mak ai; kamsoem loklam ah ni kang thuitaek o han; toe thuitaek ai ah kang suem o sut mak ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Thou, thou dost not fear, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Jehovah — for with thee I [am], For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have driven thee, And of thee I do not make an end, And I have reproved thee in judgment, And do not entirely acquit thee!'
