Jeremiah 43

1 Angmacae Angraeng Sithaw mah, hae loknawk hae nihcae khaeah thuih pae boih hanah, Jeremiah to patoeh baktih toengah, anih mah kaminawk boih khaeah lokthuih pae,

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, for which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

2 to pacoengah Hosaiah capa Azariah hoi Kariah capa Johanan, amoek kaminawk boih mah, Jeremiah khaeah, Amsawnlok ni na thuih! Izip prae ah khosak han ih caeh o hmah, tiah thuih han ih kaicae Angraeng Sithaw mah nang to patoeh ai, tiah a naa o:

then spake Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, “Thou speakest falsely; Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there;

3 toe Neriah capa Baruk mah, Kaicae hae Khaldian kaminawk ban ah paek moe, humsak pacoengah, Babylon misong ah caehsak han koeh pongah ni, nang han to tiah lok ang thuisak, tiah a naa o.

but Baruch, the son of Neriah, setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldaeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.”

4 To pongah Kariah capa Johanan hoi misatuh angraengnawk hoi kaminawk boih loe Judah prae ah khosak han thuih pae ih, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai o ai.

So Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, to remain in the land of Judah.

5 To pongah Kariah capa Johanan hoi misatuh angraengnawk mah, Judah prae to tacawt o taak moe, prae kruekah kaproeng kaminawk, Judah ah khosak han amlaem let kaminawk boih,

But Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations whither they had been driven to dwell in the land of Judah,

6 nongpa hoi nongpatanawk, nawktanawk hoi siangpahrang canunawk, siangpahrang toepkung Nebuzaradan mah, Shaphan capa Ahihkam, anih ih capa Gedaliah khaeah caehtaak sut ih kaminawk boih, tahmaa Jeremiah hoi Neriah capa Baruk cae to caeh o haih boih.

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had left with Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch, the son of Neriah;

7 Nihcae loe Angraeng ih lok to tahngai ai ah, Izip prae ah a caeh o; Tahpanhes ahmuen karoek to a caeh o.

and they went into the land of Egypt; for they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah; and they came to Tahpanhes.

8 Tahpanhes ah oh o naah Angraeng ih lok to Jeremiah khaeah angzoh,

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

9 Jeremiah, thlung kalen to sin ah loe, Tahpanhes ih Faro siangpahrang im akunhaih taengah kaom amlai long sakhaih ahmuen ah, Judah kaminawk hmaa ah aphum ah.

Take in thy hand great stones, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln which is at the entrance of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah,

10 To pacoengah nihcae khaeah, Khen oh, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah, Ka tamna Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar to kang patoeh, ka phum ih hae thlungnawk nuiah anih ih angraeng tangkhang to ka suek han; anih mah siangpahrang ih kahni im to a nuiah payang tih.

and say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send, and take Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne upon these stones which I have hidden, and he shall spread his royal canopy over them.

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt, and deliver those that are for death to death, and those that are for captivity to captivity, and those that are for the sword to the sword.

12 Anih mah Izip sithawnawk suekhaih imnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek tih; to imnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek ueloe, sithawnawk to la ving tih; tuutoep kami mah angmah ih kahni to angkhuk baktih toengah, Nebuchanezzar mah Izip prae to angkhuk ueloe, kamongah caehtaak tih.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall wrap himself in the land of Egypt, as a shepherd wrappeth himself in his garment, and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

13 Izip prae Beth-Shemesh vangpui ih krangnawk to paro ueloe, Izip kaminawk mah sithaw suekhaih imnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek pae boih tih, tiah a naa.

And he shall break in pieces the images of Bethshemesh in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
