That is what will happen to all you who are determined to go to Egypt and live there. [Some of you] will be killed by the swords [of your enemies, and others of you will die] from famines and from diseases. None of you will escape the disasters that I will bring on you.’
18 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah, Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk nuiah, palungphuihaih, kanung parai palungphuihaih to ka kraih thuih baktih toengah, Izip prae na kun o naah, nangcae nuiah ka kraih han; nangcae loe angzoehhaih, dawnraihaih, tangoenghaih hoi kasaethuih ih kami ah na om o tih; hae ahmuen hae na hnu o let mak ai boeh, tiah thuih.
And the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], also says this: ‘Because I was very angry, I severely punished [MTY] [all] the people of Jerusalem. I will do the same things to you when you go to Egypt. [The result will be that] people will curse you. They will be horrified about [what has happened to] you. They will make fun of you, and you will never see this land again.’
19 Aw anghmat Judah kaminawk, nangcae kawng pongah Angraeng mah, Izip prae ah caeh o hmah; vaihni ah acoehaih lok kang thuih o boeh, tito panoek oh, tiah thuih.

21 Vaihni ah lok kang thuih o boeh, kai ang patoeh moe, ang thuih o ih na Angraeng Sithaw ih loknawk doeh na tahngai o ai.
And today I have told you exactly what he said, but [I know that] you will not obey Yahweh our God now, just as you have not obeyed him previously.
22 To pongah vaihi na caeh o baktih toengah, khosak han na koeh o haih ahmuen ah sumsen, khokhahaih, kasae nathaih hoiah na dueh o tangtang tih boeh, tiah panoek oh, tiah a naa.
You want to go to Egypt and live there. So now, you can be sure of this: [All of] you will die there. [Some of you will be killed] by the swords [of your enemies and others will die] from famines or from diseases.”
