< Jeremiah 22 >
1 Angraeng mah, Judah siangpahrang im ah caeh tathuk ah loe, to ah hae lok hae thui paeh,
Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
2 David ih angraeng tangkhang pongah anghnu, Aw Judah siangpahrang, nang, nangmah hoi na tamnanawk, hae khongkha hoiah akun nangmah ih kaminawk boih, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai oh, tiah thuih;
And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
3 Angraeng mah, Toenghaih to sah oh loe, katoengah lok takroek oh; naeh ih kami to pacaekthlaek kami ban thung hoiah pahlong oh; angvin, ampa tawn ai kami hoi lamhmainawk nuiah kahoih ai hmuen to sah o hmah, pacaekthlaek o hmah loe, hae ahmuen ah zaehaih tawn ai kaminawk ih athii to palong o hmah.
Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
4 Hae lokpaekhaih hae na pazui o tangtang nahaeloe, David ih angraeng tangkhang pongah anghnu, hrang lakok angthueng kaminawk, hrang angthueng kaminawk, angmah hoi anih ih tamnanawk hoi anih ih kaminawk loe hae im khongkha hoiah akun o tih, tiah thuih.
For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
5 Toe hae paek ih loknawk hae na pazui o ai nahaeloe, Hae im loe pong sut tih, tiah kaimah hoi kaimah lokkamhaih ka sak boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
6 Judah siangpahrang ih im kawng pongah, Angraeng mah, Nang loe kai hanah Gilead baktiah na oh, Lebanon ih mae kamsum baktiah na oh; toe praezaek baktih, kami om ai vangpuinawk baktiah kang ohsak han, tiah thuih.
For thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou [art] Gilead unto me, [and] the head of Lebanon: [yet] surely I will make thee a wilderness, [and] cities [which] are not inhabited.
7 Nang amrosak hanah, kami boih angmacae ih maiphaw maica hoiah kang patoeh han, na koeh koek ih sidar thing to nihcae mah pakhruh pae ving ueloe, hmai ah tik o tih.
And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast [them] into the fire.
8 Hae vangpui taengah kacaeh pop parai prae kaminawk mah, tipongah hae lensawk vangpui hae Angraeng mah to tiah sak vai? tiah maeto hoi maeto angdueng o tih.
And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
9 To naah nihcae mah, Angmacae Angraeng Sithaw ih lokmaihaih to pahnawt o ving moe, kalah sithawnawk bok o pacoengah, a tok sak pae o pongah ni, to tiah oh, tiah pathim o tih.
Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
10 Sithaw mah kadueh kami siangpahrang Josiah hanah qah o haih hmah, palung doeh sae o haih hmah; toe misong ah kalaem a capa siangpahrang Jehoahaz hanah qah o haih ah; tipongah tih nahaeloe anih loe amlaem let mak ai boeh, a prae doeh hnu let mak ai boeh.
Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: [but] weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
11 Ampa Josiah zuengah prae ka uk, hae prae thung hoiah tacawt, Judah siangpahrang, Josiah capa Shallum ih kawng pongah, Angraeng mah, anih loe hae ah amlaem let mak ai boeh,
For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
12 nihcae mah misong ah hoih o ih prae ah ni dueh tih, hae prae hae hnu let mak ai boeh, tiah a thuih.
But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
13 Toeng ai ah im sah kami, toeng ai ah imkhaannawk sah kami, imtaeng kami azom ah toksahsak kami, toksakhaih atho paek ai kami, siangpahrang Jehoiakim loe khosak bing!
Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; [that] useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
14 Anih mah, kalen parai im hoi imkhaannawk to ka sak han, tiah thuih moe, thokbuen to a buemh, sidar thing hoiah tapang to tapang pacoengah, rong kamling tasi to a nok.
That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and [it is] cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
15 Sidar thing oephaih hoiah maw siangpahrang ah na oh? Nam pa loe caaknaek tawn ai maw? Anih loe toenghaih hoiah toksak moe, katoengah lok takroek pongah, khosak hoihaih to a hnuk.
Shalt thou reign, because thou closest [thyself] in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, [and] then [it was] well with him?
16 Anih loe kamtang hoi kavawt kaminawk hanah toenghaih hoiah lokcaek; to pongah khosak hoihaih to a hnuk; kai panoekhaih atho loe to tiah na ai maw oh? tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then [it was] well [with him: was] not this to know me? saith the LORD.
17 Toe nang ih mik hoi na palung loe, hmuenmae koeh hmoekhaih, zae tawn ai kami humhaih, pacaekthlaekhaih, tha hoi minawk ih hmuenmae lomhhaih bang khue ah oh.
But thine eyes and thine heart [are] not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do [it].
18 To pongah Josiah capa Judah siangpahrang, Jehoiakim kawng pongah, Mi mah doeh Oe, kam nawk, Oe, ka tanuh, tiah anih to qah o haih mak ai; Oe, ka angraeng, Oe, a lensawkhaih, tiah palung doeh sae o haih mak ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, [saying], Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, [saying], Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
19 Anih to Jerusalem khongkha tasa bangah va o ueloe, laa hrang aphum baktiah aphum o tih.
He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
20 Lebanon ah caeh tahang ah loe, hang ah; Bashan ah hang ah, nam puinawk amro o boih boeh pongah, Abarim hoiah hang ah.
Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
21 Khosak hoih nathuem ah kang thuih boeh; toe ka tahngai mak ai, tiah nang naa. Hae loe nawkta nathuem hoi kaom na tuinuen roe boeh ni; ka lok hae na tahngai ai.
I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; [but] thou saidst, I will not hear. This [hath been] thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
22 Nang ih tuutoep kaminawk loe takhi mah hmut boih ueloe, nam puinawk doeh misong ah laem o tih; na sethaih pongah azathaih na tongh ueloe ahmin sae tih.
The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
23 Aw Lebanon ah kaom, sidar thingnawk ah tabu sah kaminawk, nangcae nuiah nathaih phak naah loe, kawkruk maw nongpata caa tapen nathuem ih kana baktiah na hang o tih!
O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
24 Angraeng mah, Kai ka hing pongah Judah siangpahrang Jehoikim ih capa Koniah loe, ka bantang ban angmathaih bantuek ah oh, toe kang khringh ving moe,
[As] I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
25 na hinghaih pakrong kami, na zit parai ih, Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar hoi Khaldian kaminawk ban ah ka paek han.
And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand [of them] whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26 Nangmah hoi nang tapenkung nam no to na tapenhaih prae ai, prae kalah ah kang haek hoi han, nanghnik loe to ah na dueh hoi tih.
And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
27 Amlaem let han na koeh hoi parai ih prae ah natuek naah doeh nam laem hoi let mak ai boeh, tiah a thuih.
But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
28 Hae kami loe azat paek han kaom ai, mi mah doeh koeh ai ih kami, minawk mah patoek moe, sakcop ih krang ah kaom Koniah na ai maw? Tipongah angmah hoi a caanawk to haek moe, nihcae mah panoek vai ai ih prae ah vah o ving loe?
[Is] this man Coniah a despised broken idol? [is he] a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
29 Aw long, long, long, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai oh!
O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.
30 Angraeng mah, Hae kami loe caa tawn ai, a hing thung khosak hoih ai kami, a caanawk loe khosak hoih kami om o mak ai; mi kawbaktih doeh David ih angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnu o mak ai ueloe, Judah prae doeh uk o mak ai boeh, tiah tarik ah, tiah a thuih.
Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man [that] shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
