< Jeremiah 21 >

1 Zedekiah siangpahrang mah Malkiah capa Pashur hoi Maaseiah ih capa qaima Zephaniah to Jeremiah khaeah patoeh naah, Angraeng ih lok Jeremiah khaeah angzoh. Nihnik mah,
The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashchur the son of Malkiyah, and Zephanyah the son of Ma'asseyah the priest, saying,
2 Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar loe kaicae tuk hanah amsak boeh pongah, misanawk hnukbang ah angnawn o thai han hoi kaicae kheah Angraeng mah dawnrai hmuen to sak hanah na hni paeh, tiah a naa hoi.
Inquire, I pray thee, in our behalf of the Lord; for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon maketh war against us; peradventure the Lord will deal with us according to all his wondrous deeds, so that he may withdraw from us.
3 Toe Jeremaih mah nihnik khaeah, Zedekiah khaeah thui pae hoih,
Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:
4 Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah, Khenah, sipae tasa bangah nangcae takui khoep, Babylon siangpahrang hoi Khaldian kaminawk tukhaih, na ban ih maiphaw maicanawk to nangmacae nuiah kam laemsak let han, nihcae to hae vangpui thungah ka pakhueng han.
Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, who besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
5 Kai mah roe mah, palungphuihaih hoiah ban ka phok han, thui laek ai palungphuihaih hoi ka ban thacakhaih hoiah nang to kang tuk han.
And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, and in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
6 Hae vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk, kami hoi moinawk boih ka thuitaek han; nihcae loe zit kaom kasae nathaih hoiah dueh o boih tih.
And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: of a great pestilence shall they die.
7 To pacoengah Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah, anih ih tamnanawk, anih ih kaminawk hoi hae vangpui ih kasae nathaih thung hoiah maw, sumsen hoiah maw, khokhahaih thung hoiah maw anghmat kaminawk loe, Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar ih ban hoi nihcae hinghaih pakrong a misanawk ban ah ka paek han; anih mah loe paquem mak ai, tahmenhaih tawn mak ai, palungnathaih tawn ai ah sumsen hoiah hum tih, tiah thuih, tiah a naa.
And afterward, saith the Lord, will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and those that are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he will not spare them, nor have pity, nor have mercy.
8 To pacoengah kaminawk khaeah, Angraeng mah, Khenah, nangcae hmaa ah hinghaih loklam hoi duekhaih loklam to ka suek.
And unto this people shalt thou say, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
9 Hae vangpui thungah kaom mi kawbaktih doeh sumsen, khokhahaih, kasae nathaih hoiah dueh o tih; toe nangcae takui khoep khaldian kaminawk khaeah kacawn kami loe hing tih; lomh ih hmuen baktiah a hinghaih to loih tih.
He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, or by the famine, or by the pestilence; but he that goeth out, and runneth away to the Chaldeans that besiege you, shall remain alive, and his life shall be unto him as a booty.
10 Hae vangpui nuiah hoihaih sah ai, sethaih sak han ih ni ka poek boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nihcae to Babylon siangpahrang ban ah ka paek han, anih mah hmai hoiah qoeng tih, tiah thuih, tiah a naa.
For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord: into the hand of the king of Babylon shall it be given up, and he will burn it with fire.
11 To pacoengah, Judah siangpahrang imthung takoh khaeah, Angraeng ih lok hae tahngai oh, tiah thui paeh;
And to the house of the king of Judah [say], Hear ye the word of the Lord:
12 Aw David imthung takoh, Angraeng mah, Akhawnbang kruek katoeng hmuen to sah oh, naeh ih kami to pacaekthlaek kaminawk ih ban thung hoiah pahlong oh, to tih ai nahaeloe na sak o ih zaehaih pongah, palung ka phuihaih hmai baktiah amngaeh ueloe, mi mah doeh paduek thai ai ah kangh moeng tih.
O house of David, thus hath said the Lord, Exercise justice on [every] morning, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor; lest my fury go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
13 Khenah, Aw azawn ah kaom kaminawk, azawn ah kaom thlung, nang to misa ah kang suek boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nangcae mah, Mi mah maw kaicae hae tuh tih? Mi mah maw kaicae ohhaih ahmuen thungah akun tih, tiah na thuih o.
Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitress of the valley, [about] the rock of the plain, saith the Lord; who say, Who shall descend down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
14 Na sakhaih hoi katingah kang thuitaek han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nangcae ih taw to hmai ka thlaek han, na taengah kaom hmuennawk to hmai mah kang boih tih, tiah thuih, tiah a naa.
But I will inflict punishment on you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord: and I will kindle a fire in its forest, and it shall devour all its environs.
