< Jeremiah 13 >

1 Angraeng mah kai khaeah hae tiah ang thuih; Caeh ah loe, puu ngan kazii to la ah; na kaengah zaeng ah, tui suisak hmah, tiah ang naa.
Thus says the Lord, Go and procure for yourself a linen girdle, and put it about your loins, and let it not be put in water.
2 Angraeng ih lok baktih toengah, kazii to ka lak moe, kaeng ah ka zaeng.
So I procured the girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it about my loins.
3 To pacoengah Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh let,
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
4 kaeng ah nang zaeng ih kazii to lah loe, angthawk ah, Euphrates vapui ah caeh loe, thlungkhaw thungah hawk ah, tiah ang naa.
Take the girdle that is upon your loins, and arise, and go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5 To pongah Angraeng mah ang thuih ih lok baktih toengah, ka caeh moe, Euphrates vapui taengah ka hawk.
So I went, and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.
6 Ni paroeai akra pacoengah, Angraeng mah kai khaeah, Angthawk ah, Euphrates vapui ah caeh loe, kazii to la ah, tiah ang naa.
And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said to me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take thence the girdle, which I commanded you to hide there.
7 Euphrates ah ka caeh, ka takaeh moe, ka hawkhaih ahmuen hoiah kazii to ka lak let; khenah, kazii loe hmawn ving boeh moe, patoh thai ai boeh.
So I went to the river Euphrates, and dug, and took the girdle out of the place where I [had] buried it: and, behold, it was rotten, utterly good for nothing.
8 To pacoengah Angraeng ih lok to kai khaeah angzoh,
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thus says the Lord,
9 Judah hoi Jerusalem amoekhaih loe to tiah kam rosak han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Thus will I mar the pride of Juda, and the pride of Jerusalem;
10 Hae ih kahoih ai kaminawk, ka lok tahngaih koeh ai kaminawk, angmacae ih palung mah thuih ih lok baktiah caeh kaminawk, a toksak pae hanah kalah sithawnawk hnukah bang moe, krang bok hanah caeh kaminawk loe tidoeh avang ai, hae kazii baktiah om o tih.
[even] this great pride [of the men] that will not listen to my words, and have gone after strange gods, to serve them, and to worship them: and they shall be as this girdle, which can be used for nothing.
11 Kazii loe kami ih kaengah zaeng baktih toengah, Israel imthung takoh hoi Judah imthung takohnawk boih mah, kai ih acaeng, kai ih ahmin, ka lensawkhaih hoi ka hmin pakoeh ah oh o thai hanah, kaimah khaeah kang zaeng, toe nihcae mah ka lok hae tahngai o ai.
For as a girdle cleaves about the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave to myself the house of Israel, and the whole house of Juda; that they might be to me a famous people, and a praise, and a glory: but they did not listen to me.
12 To pongah pailang to misurtui hoiah koi o sak ah, tiah thuih ih lok to nihcae khaeah thui paeh, tiah Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah ang naa: to naah nihcae mah, Pailang to misurtui hoi koisak boih han angaih, tiah panoek ai kami ah maw ka oh o? tiah na naa o nahaeloe,
And you shall say to this people, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and it shall come to pass, if they shall say to you, Shall we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine? that you shall say to them,
13 nihcae khaeah, khenah, hae prae thungah kaom kami boih, David ih angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnu siangpahrangnawk boih, qaimanawk, tahmaanawk hoi Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk boih, mu ka paquisak moe,
Thus says the Lord, Behold, I [will] fill the inhabitants of this land, and their kings the sons of David that sit upon their throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and Juda and all the dwellers in Jerusalem, with strong drink.
14 maeto hoi maeto kang daengsak han, ampanawk hoi acaanawk doeh nawnto ka vah han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; ka tahmen mak ai, ka pathlung mak ai, palungnathaih tawn ai ah, nihcae to ka hum han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih, tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
And I will scatter them a man and his brother, and their fathers and their sons together: I will not have compassion, says the Lord, and I will not spare, neither will I pity [to save them] from destruction.
15 Tahngai oh loe, naa to patueng oh; amoek o hmah; Angraeng mah lokthuih boeh.
Hear you, and give ear, and be not proud: for the Lord has spoken.
16 Khoving moe, khoving maenawk nuiah khok na ae o ai nathuem, aanghaih na zing o moe, anih mah aanghaih to duekhaih tahlip ah omsak ai nathuem, anghmang kathok khoving ah angcoengsak ai nathuem ah, Angraeng na Sithaw to pakoeh oh.
Give glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and you shall wait for light, and behold the shadow of death, and they shall be brought into darkness.
17 Toe na tahngai o ai nahaeloe, nam oek o haih pongah kamtueng ai ahmuen ah ka hinghaih to qah khing tih; Angraeng ih tuunawk to misong ah caeh o haih ving boeh pongah, palungnat hoiah ka qah ueloe, mikkhraetui longhaih hoiah ka om tih boeh.
But if you will not listen, your soul shall weep in secret because of pride, and your eyes shall pour down tears, because the Lord's flock is sorely bruised.
18 Siangpahrang hoi siangpahrang zu khaeah, na thacakhaih hoi na lensawkhaih sui lumuek loe, na lu nui hoiah krah tih boeh.
Say you to the king and the princes, Humble yourselves, and sit down; for your crown of glory is removed from your head.
19 Aloih bang ih vangpuinawk loe khaa o tih, mi mah doeh paong mak ai; Judah acaeng boih misong ah hoi o tih; misong ah caeh o haih boih tih.
The cities towards the south were shut, and there was none to open [them]: Juda is removed [into captivity, ]they have suffered a complete removal.
20 Dan o tahang ah loe, aluek bang hoiah angzo kaminawk to khen ah; nang khaeah kang paek ih kranghoih tuunawk loe naa ah maw oh o boih?
Lift up your eyes, O Jerusalem, and behold them that come from the north; where is the flock that was given you, the sheep of your glory?
What will you say when they shall visit you, for you did teach them lessons for rule against yourself; shall not pangs seize you as a woman in travail?
22 Tipongah maw hae hmuennawk hae ka nuiah oh? tiah na thuih nahaeloe, na zaehaih pongah ni, na canghnak to angthlaeh moe, na khoknawk to amtueng, tiah panoek ah.
And if you should say in your heart, Therefore have these things happened to me? Because of the abundance of your iniquity have your skirts been discovered, that your heels might be exposed.
23 Ethiopia kami mah a nganhin amkhraih thai maw? To tiah ai boeh loe kaithlaeng mah ahin rong amkhraih thai maw? Amkhrai thaih nahaeloe, kahoih ai hmuen sah zong nangcae doeh, kahoih hmuen to na sah o thai tih, tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
If the Ethiopian shall change his skin, or the leopardess her spots, then shall you be able to do good, having learnt evil.
24 To pongah praezaek ih takhi mah canghii hmuh phaeng baktih toengah, nangcae to kang haehsak boih han.
So I scattered them as sticks carried by the wind into the wilderness.
25 Kai nang pahnet moe, amsawnlok to na tang pongah, nang han kang tah pae ih na taham loe to tiah oh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Thus is your lot, and the reward of your disobedience to me, says the Lord; as you did forget me, and trust in lies,
26 Azathaih na panoek hanah na canghnak to mikhmai khoek to kang thlaeh pae tahang han.
I also will expose your skirts upon your face, and your shame shall be seen;
27 Zu sava nuiah na sak ih nongpa nongpata zaehaih, na cukhaih, tangyat zawhhaih, azawn ih maesomnawk nuiah na sak ih panuet thok hmuennawk to ka hnuk boeh. Aw Jerusalem, khosak na bing boeh! Ciimcai ai ah nasetto maw na oh han vop? tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
your adultery also, and your neighing, and the looseness of your fornication: on the hills and in the fields I have seen your abominations. Woe to you, O Jerusalem, for you have not been purified so as to follow me; how long yet [shall it be]?
