< Isaiah 64 >

1 Aw, vannawk to paong ah loe anghum tathuk ah, na hmaa ih maenawk loe tasoeh o nasoe,
“Oh, if you had split open the heavens and come down! The mountains would have shaken at your presence,
2 hmai mah anghnoeng to kangh moe, tui tadawhsak baktiah om o nasoe; to tiah ni na misanawk mah na hmin to panoek o ueloe, kami congcanawk doeh na hmaa ah tasoeh o tih.
as when fire kindles the brushwood, or the fire makes water boil. Oh, that your name would be known by your adversaries, that the nations would tremble at your presence!
3 Kaicae mah poek ai ih dawnrai hmuennawk to na sak, nang humh tathuk naah maenawk loe na hmaa ah tasoeh o.
Previously, when you did marvelous things that we had not expected, you came down, and the mountains trembled at your presence.
4 Aw Sithaw, nang ai ah loe long amtong tangsuek na hoi Angraeng zing kaminawk hanah dawnrai hmuen kasah pae, kalah Sithaw roe mi mah doeh thaih o vai ai vop; panoek o vai ai moe, mik hoiah doeh hnu o vai ai.
Since ancient times no one has heard or perceived, nor eye seen any God besides you, who does things for him who waits for him.
5 Nang loe anghoehaih hoi katoeng hmuen sah kaminawk to na bomh moe, na caehhaih loklam panoek kaminawk to abomh hanah nang zoh; khenah, kaicae loe ka zae o boeh moe, loklam kam khraeng o poe boeh pongah, palung na phui; kaicae loe kawbangmaw pahlong thai tih boeh?
You come to help those who rejoice in doing what is right, those who call to mind your ways and obey them. You were angry when we sinned. In your ways we will always be rescued.
6 Kaicae loe ciimcai ai hmuen baktiah ni ka oh o boih boeh, ka sak o ih katoeng hmuennawk doeh panuet thok laprawn baktiah ni oh boeh; kaicae loe thingqam baktiah ka zaem o boih boeh moe, ka sak o ih zaehaih mah kaicae loe takhi baktiah hmuh phaeng boeh.
For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a menstrual rag. We have all withered like leaves; our iniquities, like the wind, carry us away.
7 Mi mah doeh na hmin to kawk ai, nang patawnh hanah tha pathok kami mi doeh om o ai; kaicae khae hoiah mikhmai na hawk ving boeh moe, ka zae o haih pongah nang pahnawt sut boeh.
There are none who calls on your name, who makes an effort to take hold of you. For you have hidden your face from us and made us waste away in the hand of our iniquities.
8 Toe, Aw Angraeng, nang loe kaicae Ampa ah na oh; kaicae loe amlai long ah ka oh o, nang loe laom sahkung ah na oh; kaicae loe na ban hoi sak ih hmuen ah ni ka oh o boih.
Yet, Yahweh, you are our father; we are the clay. You are our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.
9 Aw Angraeng, palungphui nung parai hmah rae ah, ka zae o haih doeh dungzan khoek to pakuem hmah; tahmenhaih hoiah na khen noek ah, kaicae loe nang ih kami ah ni ka oh o boih.
Be not too angry, Yahweh, nor always call to mind against us our sins. Please look at us all, your people.
10 Kaciim na vangpuinawk loe praezaek ah angcoeng boih boeh; Zion loe praezaek ah angcoeng boeh moe, Jerusalem doeh pong sut boeh.
Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 Kam panawk mah nang ang pakoeh o haih, ciimcai kranghoih tempul loe hmai mah kangh boih boeh; kahoih kaicae ih hmuennawk doeh amro boih boeh.
Our holy and beautiful temple, where our fathers praised you, has been destroyed by fire, and all that was so dear is in ruins.
12 Aw Angraeng, hae hmuennawk hae na pauep khing han vop maw? Lok apae ai ah pauep moe, kaicae hae patang nang khangsak han vop maw?
How can you still hold back, Yahweh? How can you remain silent and continue to humiliate us?”
