< Isaiah 57 >

1 Katoeng kami duek naah mi mah doeh dawncang o ai; kami palungnathaih tawn kami hoi katoeng kami to lak ving naah, patangkhanghaih thung hoi loisak han ih ni katoeng kami to lak ving, tiah mi mah doeh panoek o ai.
The righteous one, hath perished, And not a man, hath taken it to heart—Yea the men of lovingkindness, have been withdrawn No one considering, That from the presence of calamity, hath the righteous been withdrawn.
2 Katoengah khosah kami loe monghaih thungah akunh; toenghaih loklam to pazui o pongah, duek naah angmacae iihkhun nuiah kamong ah iih o.
He entereth into peace, Let them rest upon their couches, —Each one who went on a straight path.
3 Toe nangcae miklet kop caanawk, takpum zaw kami ih caanawk, payang caanawk, hae ah angzo oh!
But, ye, …draw near hither, Ye sons of divination, —Ye seed of an adulterer when your mother committed unchastity!
4 Mi maw na pahnui o thuih? Mi han maw pahni na kaek o thuih moe, palai na pathok o thuih? Nangcae loe lokaek thaih kaminawk ih caa, lok amlai kaminawk ih caa ah na ai maw na oh o?
Against whom would ye disport yourselves? Against whom would ye widen the mouth and lengthen the tongue, —Are not, ye, Children of transgression, A Seed of falsehood.
5 Aqam kahing thing tlim ah krangnawk hoiah zaehaih na sak o; cathaeng tlim ih azawn ah nawktanawk to hum moe, angbawnhaih sah kami ah na ai maw na oh o?
Who inflame yourselves With the terebinths, Under every green tree—Slaying the children, In the torrent-valleys, Under the clefts of the crags:
6 Vacong thung thlung kamnaenawk salak ih krangnawk to bok hanah na qoih o; to krangnawk loe na toep o han koi qawk ah oh; to krangnawk khaeah naek koi angbawnhaih hmuen to na paek o moe, cang hoi angbawnhaih to na sak o. To baktih hmuen pongah, kai palung anghoe tih, tiah na poek o maw?
Among the smooth stones of the torrent—valley, is thy portion. They, they, are thy lot; Even to them, hast thou Poured out a drink-offering. Caused to ascend a gift. Over these things, can I cease to grieve?
7 Maesang nuiah iihhaih to na sak moe, to ahmuen ah angbawnhaih sak hanah na dawh tahang.
On a mountain high and uplifted, hast thou set thy couch, —Even thither, hast thou gone up, to offer sacrifice;
8 Krang bokhaih to pahnet thaih han ai ah ahnuk ahma thok to na suek; kai hae nang pahnawt sut boeh: minawk kalah khaeah khukbuen nang khring thuih, iihkhun nuiah na dawh, iihkhun to kalen ah na sak moe, nihcae hoi lokmaihaih to na sak; bangkrai ah kaom nihcae to na hnuk naah iihkhun to na khit.
And behind the door and the post, hast thou set thy symbol, For, with another than me, hast thou uncovered thyself and gone up—Hast widened thy couch, And hast solemnised for thyself a covenant from them, Thou hast loved their couch a sign, hast thou seen;
9 Siangpahrang khaeah olive situi hoiah na caeh moe, hmuihoih tuinawk to kapop ah na patoh, na laicaehnawk to kangthla ah na patoeh, taprong karoek to nang hum tathuk boeh. (Sheol h7585)
And hast gone to the king with oil, And hast multiplied thy perfumes, —And hast sent thy messengers afar, And…lowered thyself as far as hades! (Sheol h7585)
10 Na caehhaih loklam mah nang tha angphosak, toe Oephaih om ai boeh, tiah thui hmah; na ban thacakhaih hoi hinghaih to na hnuk boeh pongah, nang pho ai boeh.
With the length of thy journey, thou wast wearied, Thou didst not say, Hopeless! The reviving of thy power, thou didst find, For this cause, hast thou not become sick.
11 Kai khaeah lok nam lai moe, kai hae nang pahnet, palung thung hoi doeh na poek ai boeh, to tih khoek to mi maw na zit? Atue sawk parai ah kang oh taak duem pongah maw kai hae nang zii ai?
Whom then hadst thou been anxious about and feared that thou shouldest speak falsely, When me, thou rememberedst not, caredst not for me? Did not, I, keep silence even from age-past times, Although me, thou wouldest not fear?
12 Nangmah hoi nangmah to kahoih ah na poek, toe na toenghaih hoi na toksakhaihnawk to kam tuengsak han; toe nang han tih atho doeh om mak ai.
I, will expose thy righteousness, —And thy works—but they will not profit thee!
13 Na qah naah nangmah ih krangnawk mah abomh o nasoe; krangnawk loe takhi mah hmut phaeng tih; anghahhaih takhi mah to krangnawk to hmut boih tih; toe kai oep kaminawk loe prae to toep o ueloe, kai ih kaciim mae to toep o tih.
When thou makest outcry, let thy gathered throngs deliver thee! But all of them, shall A wind, catch up—A breath, take away! Whereas he that seeketh refuge in me, Shall inherit the land, And possess my holy mountain.
14 Long to aphum oh, aphum oh, loklam to pakhrai oh! Kai ih kaminawk caehhaih loklam ah amthaek han koi kaom hmuennawk to takhoe oh, tiah thui tih.
And one said—Cast ye up—cast ye up, prepare ye a way, —Lift the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.
15 Ciimcai tiah ahmin kaom, dungzan khoek to kaom, ranui koekah kaom Sithaw mah; Kai loe hmuensang hoi hmuenciim ah ka oh, poekhaih pahnaem kami hoi dawnpakhuem kaminawk palung angthawksak hanah, kai loe poekhaih pahnaem moe, dawnpakhuem kaminawk hoi nawnto ka oh.
For, thus, saith he that is high and lifted up—Inhabiting futurity, And, holy, is his name: A high and holy place, will I inhabit, Also with the crushed and lowly in spirit, To revive the spirit of the lowly, and To revive the heart of them who are crushed; —
16 Nihcae to zaehaih ka net poe mak ai, palung doeh ka phui thuih poe mak ai; ka sak ih hinghaih hoi muithla loe ka hmaa ah amro tih boeh.
For not age-abidingly, will I contend, Nor perpetually, will I be wroth, —For, spirit, before me, would faint, Even the breathing souls, which, I, had made.
17 Amtlai hmoek koehhaih anih zaehaih pongah palung ka phui moe, anih to ka thuitaek; palungphui moe, mikhmai ka hawk ving, toe anih loe a caeh koehhaih loklam bangah caeh toengtoeng vop.
Because of his iniquitous gain, was I wroth—and smote him Hiding myself that I might be wroth, —But he went on turning aside in the way of his own heart.
18 Anih caehhaih loklam to ka hnuk boeh, toe ngan ka tuisak han; anih to ka zaeh moe, angmah hoi nawnto palungsae kaminawk khaeah monghaih to ka paek han.
His ways, have I beheld, That I might heal him, —And guide him, And restore consolations to him and to his mourners:
19 Pahni ah thingthai ka ohsak; kangthla ah kaom kaminawk hoi kazoi ah kaom kaminawk khaeah, Monghaih, monghaih to om nasoe, ngan ka tuisak han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Creating the fruit of the lips—Prosperity! Prosperity! For him that is far off and for him that is near saith Yahweh, So should I heal him.
20 Toe kasae kaminawk loe anghak ai ah kangthawk tuiphu, tangnong hoi anghnoeng pazawk tuinawk baktiah ni oh o.
But, the lawless, are like the sea when tossed, —For, rest, it cannot! But its waters toss out mire and dirt.
21 Kasae kami hanah loe monghaih roe om ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
No well-being, saith my God, to the lawless!
