< Isaiah 44 >

1 Toe vaihi loe Aw ka tamna Jakob, ka qoih ih, Israel tahngai ah;
Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 nang sahkung, zok thung hoi omsakkung, hmabang ah nang abom han kaom, Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih;
Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, [which] will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 tui anghae kami nuiah tui to ka bawh moe, kazaek long nuiah tui to ka ohsak han; na caanawk nuiah ka Muithla to ka bawh moe, na caanawk nuiah tahamhoihhaih ka longsak han.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 Nihcae loe tui taengah amprawk akung baktiah, phrohnawk salakah amprawk o tih.
And they shall spring up [as] among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 Kami maeto mah, kai loe Angraeng ih hmuen ni, tiah thui tih; kalah kami mah Jakob ih ahmin hoiah angmah hoi angmah to kawk tih; kalah kami maeto bae mah doeh Angraeng ih kami ni, tiah angmah ih ban ah ca tarik ueloe, Israel, tiah angmah ih ahmin to sah tih, tiah thuih.
One shall say, I [am] the LORD’s; and another shall call [himself] by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe [with] his hand unto the LORD, and surname [himself] by the name of Israel.
6 Israelnawk ih Siangpahrang, nihcae akrangkung misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; Kai loe amtonghaih hoi boenghaih ah ka oh; kai ai ah loe kalah Sithaw roe om ai.
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.
7 Canghnii ih kamimawk ka sak nathuem hoi kamtong vaihi khoek to, mi maw hae hmuennawk hae kai hanah kawk moe, thui pae thaih kaom? Om nahaeloe kaom li hmuennawk hoi kaom han koi hmuennawk to nihcae hanah thui noek nasoe.
And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Tasoeh o hmah loe, zii o hmah; hae lok hae canghnii ah kang thuih o moe, kang panoek o sak coek boeh na ai maw? Nangcae loe kai hnukungah na oh o. Kai ai ah Sithaw kalah oh maw? Ue, Sithaw kalah om ai, Sithaw ah kaom maeto doeh ka panoek ai, tiah a thuih.
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared [it]? ye [are] even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, [there is] no God; I know not [any].
9 Krang sah kaminawk loe azom pui ah ni oh o boih; a tawnh o ih hmuennawk doeh atho om ai; nihcae han lok thui kami loe mik a maeng; tidoeh panoek o ai, angmacae azat hanah, angmacae to hnukungah oh o.
They that make a graven image [are] all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they [are] their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Mi mah maw kadueh sithaw to sak, to tih ai boeh loe sakcop ih krang loe mi mah maw sak? To krang loe atho tidoeh om ai.
Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image [that] is profitable for nothing?
11 Khenah, anih ih ampuinawk loe azat o boih tih; ban tok sah thaih kaminawk loe tidoeh athum ai kami rumram ah ni oh o; nihcae loe nawnto angcu o boih nasoe loe, angdoe o nasoe; toe nihcae loe zii o ueloe, nawnto azathaih tong o tih.
Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they [are] of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; [yet] they shall fear, [and] they shall be ashamed together.
12 Sumdaeng kami loe caki to lak moe, hmai to pangaeh; caki hoiah a daengh; a ban thacakhaih hoiah a daengh; ue, anih loe zok amthlam moe, thazok sut; tui nae ai pongah angpho sut.
The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
13 Ban toksak kop kami mah qui hoiah tah pacoengah, angmathaih to a quenh; a quenh baktiah angmah patoh ih sum hoiah a sak; kami krang to a soi, kranghoih parai nongpa krang to a sak moe, angmah ih im thungah a suek.
The carpenter stretcheth out [his] rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
14 Anih mah Sedar thingnawk to pakhruk, saipress thing hoi oak thing doeh pakhruk; tupui thung ih thingnawk salakah a qoengsak, hmaica thing to thling moe, khotui mah qoengsak tahang.
He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish [it].
15 Hnukkhuem ah loe hmaitik han ih thing ah oh; thoemto thing to a lak moe, hmai angawt hanah a tik; ue, takaw to paop; sithaw ah a sak moe, a bok; krang ah a sak moe, a hmaa ah cangkrawn hoiah a bok.
Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth [it], and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth [it; ] he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
16 Thoemto thingnawk to hmai ah a tik; thoemto thing hoiah buh to a thongh; moi to pahaih moe, kamhah ah a caak; ue, hmai to angawt moe, Aha, kai loe hmai ka cenh moe, kabae um ah ka oh boeh, tiah a thuih.
He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth [himself], and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
17 Kamthlai thing hoiah bok hanah sithaw to a sak; akuep tathuk moe, krang to a bok; lawk a thuih moe, Na pahlong ah, nang loe ka sithaw ah na oh, tiah a naa.
And the residue thereof he maketh a god, [even] his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth [it], and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou [art] my god.
18 To krangnawk loe tidoeh panoek o ai, tidoeh thaih o ai; mik pasim o pongah, tidoeh hnu o thai ai; palung maengh o pongah, tidoeh thai o kop ai.
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; [and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.
19 Mi mah doeh, Thoemto thing to hmai ah ka tik; ue, to ih hmai kamngaeh nuiah takaw to ka pahaih; moi to ka paaem moe, ka caak; kanghmat hmai saae hoiah panuet thok hmuen ah ka sak moe, to hmuen hmaa ah akuep moe, ka bok hae amsoem maw? tiah palung thungah poek o moe, panoekhaih tawn kami maeto doeh om o ai.
And none considereth in his heart, neither [is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten [it: ] and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
20 Anih loe lungtui poep to caak moe, alinghaih palungthin mah loklam to anghmangsak boeh, a hinghaih pahlong thai ai, Ka bantang bangah kaom krang loe alinghaih ah na ai maw oh? tiah thui thai ai.
He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, [Is there] not a lie in my right hand?
21 Aw Jakob, hae hmuenawk hae panoek ah; Aw Israel, nang loe ka tamna ah ni na oh; kai mah ni kang sak; nang loe ka tamna ni; Aw Israel, nang to kang pahnet mak ai.
Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou [art] my servant: I have formed thee; thou [art] my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
22 Na sak o pazaehaih loe kathah tamai baktih, na zae o haihnawk doeh tamai baktiah kang hmatsak boeh; kai mah kang krang o boeh pongah, kai khaeah amlaem oh.
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
23 Aw vannawk, laa to sah oh; Angraeng mah sak pacoeng boeh; long thungah kaom hmuennawk, tha hoi hang oh; nangcae maenawk, Aw taw taqak hoi athung ah kaom thingnawk boih, laa to sah oh; Angraeng mah Jakob to akrang moe, Israel thungah a lensawkhaih to amtuengsak boeh.
Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done [it: ] shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Nangcae akrangkung, zok thungah nangcae omsakkung, Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; Kai loe hmuen boih sahkung, angmabueng ah van amyuengsakkung; long doeh payuengkung, Angraeng ah ka oh.
Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I [am] the LORD that maketh all [things; ] that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
25 Kamro tahmaanawk ih angmathaih to ka phraek moe, hmabang angzo han koi hmuen tahmaa kaminawk to kam thusak boeh; palungha kaminawk ih panoekhaih to amthuhaih ah ka sak pae;
That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise [men] backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
27 Anih mah ni kathuk parai tuinawk khaeah, Kang oh, tiah ka naa moe, vapui tuinawk to ka kangsak han, tiah thuih.
That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:
28 Cyrus kawng pongah, Anih loe kai ih tuutoepkung ah oh, anih mah ka koehhaih boih akoepsak tih; Jerusalem khaeah, Nang loe sak let ah na om tih; tempul khaeah, nang doehthaih ahmuen to sak amtong ah om tih boeh, tiah thuikung Angraeng ah ka oh, tiah a thuih.
That saith of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
