< Isaiah 34 >

1 Nangcae prae kaminawk, thaih hanah anghnai oh; nangcae kaminawk, tahngai oh; long hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk, long hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk boih mah tahngai o nasoe!
Come near, you nations, to hear, And you peoples, give attention, The earth and its fullness hear, The world, and all its productions.
2 Angraeng loe prae kaminawk boih nuiah palungphui, anih palungphuihaih loe nihcae ih misatuh kaminawk boih nuiah oh; Angraeng mah nihcae to amrosak moe, kami humnawk khaeah paek.
For to YHWH [is] wrath against all the nations, And fury against all their host, He has devoted them to destruction, He has given them to slaughter.
3 Hum ih kaminawk to va o sut ueloe, nihcae ih qok loe hmuisae phi tih; maenawk loe nihcae ih athii hoiah amkaw tih.
And their wounded are cast out, And their carcasses cause their stench to ascend, And mountains have been melted from their blood.
4 Van ah kaom hmuennawk boih anghma ueloe, van doeh caqam tangoeng baktiah ayaw hmoek tih boeh; van ah kaom hmuennawk loe misurkung hoiah kakrah aqam baktih, thaiduetkung hoiah thaiduet thaih angmuen baktiah krah o tih.
And all the host of the heavens have been consumed, And the heavens have been rolled together as a scroll, And all their hosts fade, As the fading of a leaf of a vine, And as the fading one of a fig tree.
5 Kai ih sumsen loe van ah tui kamhah ah nae tih; khenah, lokcaek hanah, Edom kami hoi ka tangoeng ih kaminawk nuiah anghum tathuk tih.
For My sword was soaked in the heavens, Behold, it comes down on Edom, On the people of My curse for judgment.
6 Angraeng ih sumsen loe athii hoiah koi, athawk mah ayaw hmoek, tuucaa hoi maehnawk ih athii hoiah koi moe, tuu tae pakae pong ih athawk hoiah koi boeh; Angraeng mah Bozrah vangpui ah angbawnhaih to sak moe, Edom prae ah pop parai kami humhaih to sak boeh.
A sword [is] to YHWH—it has been full of blood, It has been made fat with fatness, With blood of lambs and male goats. With fat of kidneys of rams, For to YHWH [is] a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 Nihcae loe koknonawk, maitaw taenawk, saning kacoeh maitaw taenawk hoi nawnto angzo o ueloe, amtim o tih; nihcae ih prae loe athii hoiah sui pak ueloe, maiphunawk doeh moithawk mah suisak boih tih.
And reems have come down with them, And bullocks with bulls, And their land has been soaked from blood, And their dust is made fat from fatness.
8 Angraeng mah lu lakhaih ni, Zion kawng pongah kating ah danpaekhaih saning to pha tih.
(For a day of vengeance [is] to YHWH, A year of recompenses for Zion’s strife),
9 Edom prae ih vacongnawk loe thing tangpri ah angcoeng tih, maiphu doeh hmai kangqong thaih kat baktiah angcoeng ueloe, prae doeh hmai kakang thaih thing tangpri ah angcoeng tih.
And her streams have been turned to pitch, And her dust to brimstone, And her land has become burning pitch.
10 Khoving khodai dueh mak ai; dungzan khoek to hmaikhue tacawt poe tih; adung maeto pacoeng maeto karoek to pong sut tih boeh; dungzan khoek to mi doeh a taengah caeh o mak ai boeh.
She is not quenched by night and by day, Her smoke goes up for all time, She is desolate from generation to generation, Forever and ever, none is passing into her.
11 Toe to prae loe bukbuh hoi praezaek ih uitalunawk mah toep o tih; bukbuh hoi pangaahnawk doeh to ahmuen ah om o tih; to prae nuiah anghmanghaih qui hoi amrohaih qui to anih mah payang pae tih.
And pelican and hedgehog possess her, And owl and raven dwell in her, And He has stretched out over her A line of vacancy, and stones of emptiness.
12 Nihcae mah kalen kaminawk to angraenghaih prae ah kawk tih, toe mi doeh om o mak ai, anih ih angraengnawk doeh anghmaa boih tih boeh.
They call her nobles [to] the kingdom, But there are none there, And all her princes are at an end.
13 Siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen ah soekhring to amprawk ueloe, misatoephaih kacak sipaenawk doeh soekhring hoi kapring mah ayaw khoep tih, tasuinawk hoi bukbuhnawk acaenghaih ahmuen ah om tih boeh.
And thorns have gone up her palaces, Nettle and bramble [are] in her fortresses, And it has been a habitation of dragons, A court for daughters of an ostrich.
14 Praezaek ih kasan moinawk hoi tasuinawk to angcuu o tih; satharnawk loe maeto hoi maeto angkawk o tih; to ah aqum ih moinawk to pra o tih, nihcae loe anghakhaih ahmuen kahoih hnu o tih.
And desert-dwellers have met with howlers, And the goat calls for its companion, Surely the night-owl has rested there, And has found a place of rest for herself.
15 Bukbuh mah tabu bop ueloe, tadui tih; tadui to awh ueloe, anih ih tahlip ah acaa to khaek tih; tahmu prawnnawk doeh to ah angpop o ueloe, amno hoi ampa akoep ah om o tih.
The owl has made her nest there, Indeed, she lays, and has hatched, And has gathered under her shadow, Surely vultures have been gathered there, Each with its companion.
16 Angraeng ih cabu to khen ah loe kroek ah; to ih moisannawk loe maeto doeh anghmaa o mak ai; ampui kavawt maeto doeh om o mak ai; ka pakha hoiah ni hae lok hae ka paek, anih ih Muithla mah nihcae to pakhueng tih.
Seek out of the scroll of YHWH, and read, One of these has not been lacking, None has missed its companion, For My mouth—it has commanded, And His Spirit—He has gathered them.
17 Nihcae hanah taham sae kahoih khethaih phoisa to a vah pae, a ban hoiah tah pae moe, prae to pazet pae; nihcae mah to prae to dungzan khoek to toep o ueloe, adung maeto pacoeng maeto karoek to to ahmuen ah om o tih boeh.
And He has cast a lot for them, And His hand has apportioned [it] to them by line, They possess it for all time, They dwell in it from generation to generation!
