< Isaiah 32 >
1 Khenah, siangpahrang mah toenghaih hoiah prae to uk tih, ukkung angraengnawk mah toenghaih hoiah uk o tih.
Behold, a king reigns for righteousness, As for princes, they rule for judgment.
2 Kami loe takhi song naah anghawkhaih ahmuen, takhi sae song naah abuephaih ahmuen ah om tih; long karoem ahmuen ih vapui tui baktiah om ueloe, ni kanaa ahmuen ih lungsong tahlip baktiah om tih.
And each has been as a hiding place [from] wind, And as a secret hiding place [from] inundation, As streams of waters in a dry place, As a shadow of a heavy rock in a weary land.
3 Hnukhaih mik tawn kaminawk loe mik pasim o mak ai, lokthaihaih naa tawn kaminawk mah doeh lok to tahngai o tih boeh.
And the eyes of beholders are not dazzled, And the ears of hearers attend.
4 Panoekhaih tawn ai kami ih palung mah panoekhaih to tawn ueloe, lokaa mah doeh kamtuengah lok apae thai tih boeh.
And the heart of those hurried understands to know, And the tongue of stammerers hurries to speak clearly.
5 Kamthu loe khingya koi kaom kami ah poek o mak ai boeh; poeksae kami doeh pakoeh koi kaom ahmuen to paek mak ai boeh.
A fool is no more called “noble,” And to a miser it is not said, “rich”;
6 Kamthu mah loe Sithaw koeh ai ih hmuen to sak moe, Angraeng to kasae thuih hanah zok amthlam kami to zok amthlamsak aep, tui anghae kami han doeh tui anghaesak aep hanah, loksae apae ueloe, zae sakhaih khue to poek tih.
For a fool speaks folly, And his heart does iniquity, to do profanity, And to speak error concerning YHWH, To empty the soul of the hungry, Indeed, he causes the thirsty to lack [their] drink.
7 Kasae kami loe lok amlai o, kahoih ai hmuen to sak o; amtang kami mah loktang lok thui cadoeh, anih amrosak hanah kahoih ai hmuen to a poek o.
And the miser—his instruments [are] evil, He has counseled wicked schemes, To corrupt the poor with lying sayings, Even when the needy speaks justly.
8 Toe minawk abomh koeh kami loe kahoih hmuen to a poek pongah, anih loe minawk abomh koehhaih palungthin hoiah khosah tih.
And the noble counseled noble things, And he rises up for noble things.
9 Thazoi ah kaom nangcae nongpatanawk, angthawk oh; acoehaih tawn ai canunawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh; ka thuih ih lok hae tahngai oh!
Women, easy ones, rise, hear my voice, Daughters, confident ones, give ear [to] my saying,
10 acoehaih tawn ai nongpatanawk, nangcae loe pop parai ani hoi saning thungah raihaih na tong o tih; misurthaih om mak ai ueloe, misurthaih pakhrikhaih atue doeh pha mak ai.
In days and a year You are troubled, O confident ones, For harvest has been consumed, The gathering does not come.
11 Thazoi ah kaom nongpatanawk, tasoeh oh; acoehaih tawn ai kami nang, mawn ah; na khukbuen to angkhring ah loe kazii to kaengah angzaeng ah.
Tremble, you women, you easy ones, Be troubled, you confident ones, Strip and make bare, with a girdle on the loins,
12 Long kahoih lawk hmuen hoi athaih kapop ah kathai misurkung pongah saoek atumhaih hoiah mawn oh.
They are lamenting for breasts, For fields of desire, for the fruitful vine.
13 Kai kaminawk ih long loe kapring hoi soekhring hoiah koi tih; Ue, anghoehaih imnawk hoi vangpui nuiah doeh soekhring to amprawk tih;
Over the ground of my people thorn [and] brier go up, Surely over all houses of joy of the exulting city,
14 Angraeng ohhaih ahmuen to caehtaak ving boeh pongah, vangpui thung ih atuen doeh angqai krang tih boeh; misatoephaih im hoi imsangnawk loe dungzan khoek to pong sut ueloe, laa hrangnawk prathaih ahmuen hoi tuunawk prathaih ahmuen ah om lat tih boeh;
The palace has been left, The multitude of the city forsaken, Fort and watchtower have been for dens for all time, A joy of wild donkeys—a pasture of herds;
15 ranui bang hoi aicae nuiah Muithla kraih thuih naah loe, praezaek to long kahoih lawk hmuen ah angcoeng ueloe, long kahoih lawk hmuen doeh taw baktiah poekhaih atue to om tih boeh.
Until the Spirit is emptied out on us from on high, And a wilderness has become a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is reckoned for a forest.
16 Praezaek ah toenghaih hoi lokcaekhaih om ueloe, toenghaih to long kahoih lawk hmuen ah om poe tih boeh.
And judgment has dwelt in the wilderness, And righteousness remains in the fruitful field.
17 Toenghaih mah angdaehhaih to omsak tih; toenghaih athaih loe dungzan monghaih hoi kacak poe oephaih ah om tih.
And a work of the righteousness has been peace, And a service of the righteousness—Keeping quiet and confidence for all time.
18 Kai ih kaminawk loe misa monghaih ahmuen, mawnhaih om ai ahmuen, kamding rue ah anghakhaih ahmuen ah om o tih boeh;
And My people have dwelt in a peaceful habitation, And in steadfast dwelling places, And in quiet resting places.
19 toe taw nuiah qaetui to krah ueloe, vangpui doeh long hoi kangvan ah ahnaem tathuk tih.
And it has hailed in the going down of the forest, And the city is low in the valley.
20 Tui ohhaih ahmuen ah aanmu haeh kami, maitaw hoi laa hrangnawk to koeh baktiah prasak kaminawk loe tahamhoih.
Blessed [are] you sowing by all waters, Sending forth the foot of the ox and the donkey!
