< Isaiah 31 >
1 Abomhaih hnik hanah Izip ah caeh tathuk, hrangnawk oephaih tawn kami, pop parai hrang lakok oephaih tawn kami, thacak hrang angthueng kaminawk to oep moe, ciimcai Isarael Sithaw to khen ai, Angraeng doeh pakrong ai kaminawk loe khosak bing!
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, and they do not seek the LORD.
2 Anih loe palungha pongah amrohaih to phasak tih; anih loe thuih ih lok to azuk let mak ai; anih loe sethaih sah kami imthung takoh to tuk moe, kahoih ai hmuen sak abomh kaminawk to tuk hanah angthawk tih.
Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against those who help evildoers.
3 Toe Izip kaminawk loe Sithaw na ai ni, kami rumram toeng ni; nihcae ih hrangnawk doeh muithla ah om ai, takpum ah ni oh o rumram toeng. Angraeng mah ban phok thuih naah loe, anih abomh kaminawk amtimh o ueloe, abomhaih hnu kaminawk doeh amtimh o tih; nihcae loe nawnto anghmaa o boih tih.
Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.
4 Angraeng mah hae tiah ang thuih; Kaipui hoi a caanawk loe kaek ih moi to caak o moe, a hang o naah, tuutoep kaminawk boih mah hang o thuih cadoeh, hanghaih lok to zii o mak ai, tasoeh doeh tasoeh o mak ai; to baktih toengah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng loe to ah kaom mae hoi Zion mae ah nihcae to tuk hanah anghum tathuk tih.
For thus says the LORD to me, "As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them, so the LORD of hosts will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.
5 Tavaa mah pakhraeh hoiah a caanawk to khuk baktih toengah, Angraeng mah Jerusalem to pakaa tih; anih mah pakaa ueloe loisak tih; anih mah pakaa tih, danpaek ai ah loisak tih.
As birds hovering, so the LORD of hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it."
6 Aw Israel caanawk misa nang thawk o thuih ih, Angraeng khaeah amlaem o let ah.
Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.
7 To na niah loe zaehaih sak hanah, nangmacae ban hoiah sak ih sui maw, sumkanglung hoiah maw na sak o ih krangnawk to na vaa o king tih boeh.
For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.
8 Assyria loe thacak kami mah hum mak ai, sumsen hoiah ni dueh tih; kasae kami mah hum mak ai, anih loe suemsen mah paaeh tih; toe anih loe sumsen thung hoiah cawn ueloe, angmah ih thendoengnawk to misong tok sahsak tih.
"The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of humankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.
9 Zit loiah angmah ih kacak sipae to cawn taak tih, anih ih angraengnawk loe angmathaih hmuen hnuk o naah zii o tih, tiah Zion mae ah kangqong hmai ah kaom, Jerusalem ah doeh hmaitikhaih ahmuen ah kaom, Angraeng mah thuih.
His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his officers will be afraid of the banner," says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
